I'm ordering this. On sale for prime day. $139 for two cameras. Then I'll just get rechargeable lithium AA batteries. Seems like the smart way to do it. Even if I have to change them every few months. Not a big deal since rechargeable.
I was looking for an outdoor camera to keep an eye on my dogs in the yard when I'm not home. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe Tried a different one that was absolutely terrible, so I got these instead. They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. The best part is I only get the footage I want to see, not hours of videos of the bird feeder swaying in the breeze.
This was awesome, you explained all the little do dads... I had one camera and just bought another, I also have the RING and like BLINK much better. I wish you also showed how to add another camera. Also I was unsure if I needed both modules or could use just the one that came with the first camera.
Thanks! I think you can have update to 10 cameras for one sync module. It's really easy to add another camera. On the main screen on the app just scroll to the bottom and there is a big plus symbol, you just have to click that and it will take you through the steps.
I just bought 3 Blink, I’m staying in the US but i need to send these for my Dad, from Vietnam. So can i set up From here and he can use them when i pack back to Vnam. And i also want to watch camerawork on my phone. Please help me. Thank Sam.
What is to keep someone else that has a blink system from hooking up to your cameras? Like if they were at your house an wanted to download your cameras when you wasnt looking? Is that possible or is there a safety feature to prevent this???
This has been such a great investment for us. I like not having to sign contracts or monthly payments. They are very easy to install and best of all I get to watch on my phone whatever is going on at home while I work. I'm shopping for more monitors to place on the side of my home so people will stop burning my plants, stealing my fruit trees and throwing rocks at my dog.
That was an excellent video thank you for doing one!! Can I ask a couple of questions pls. How well and far is the range sensor for the outside camera? For clip file storage where does it store, I didn't notice you add any micro SD?
I'll say this is one of the best Setup guide, I wonder if you will like to do a setup guide for Blink xt2? anyway thanks for such a helpful setup guide.
Is WiFi required? Or can you use mobile data? And is it required that Wifi stays on, or can you use a mobile hotspot to activate the aystem and than turn the hotspot off?
The Sync Module acts as a hub between your Blink wireless home security cameras and the cloud. You can connect up-to 10 Blink cameras per sync moduleand use our home security app from anywhere.
The default clip length is 5 seconds, but you can adjust that in the app to be up to 60 seconds long, with an option to cut aclip short if motion stops. (Blink warns that extending the default length of eachclip will cut down on battery life.)
If the sync module only worked. 3 hours on the phone with customer service, 4 hours on my own and a replacement sync module. Doesn't connect and Blink has no idea why. Return. But thanks for the video, well done.
+Alexa Alice you just need to arm the cameras (which is in the app) then your phone will get notifications. But you need the app on what ever phone you want to be notified on.
You need to enter your WiFi password in on the app to connect your cameras to the sync module . And you will to create an account when you download the blink app, so then you will need to choose a password for that login account.
Brandon B depends on your settings. I have my videos set to last 15 seconds instead of 5 seconds and they record one after another if motion continues. I also have the sensitivity level at 5 so i don’t get false alarms. So far the only false alarm I received was from blowing snow that fell downward from my roof in front of the camara. I will let you know when my batteries get low. Could be 12 months, could be 18 months...
G'day Sam - wow you really remind me of my Aussie ex-gf from Queenie, right down to the black rim glasses! Anyway, thanks mate for the tutorial and review, very helpful.
Are these cameras worth it? I found a 4 pack for 350 bucks but I'm concerned about the battery situation. I like the ring spot light cameras because they are rechargeable and can add a solar panel but if battery life won't only last a couple weeks on these it may be a good deal. I've just seen alot of reviews saying yo stay away because batteries last less than a month
I'm happy with the cameras, but it depends what you want. Iv got about 8 months out of the cameras in the backyard. I have the set to 720p resolution and 30s clips. We spend alot of time in the backyard, so the cameras are in high use, Thats why the battery only lasted about 8 months. If we are in the back yard for awhile and I remember, I disable the camera so it's not being set off and wasting battery. My other cameras have lasted over 12 months so far.
@@SamCambetis ok great thank you. 2 weeks seemed a little ridiculous to have to keep replacing batteries but who knows what they had the settings on or how often they looked at live view etc.. I just checked and the 4 pack I found of these was 350 which was a pretty good deal is now 249 so I think I will jump on it.
Make sure you only use lithiam iron battiers with the camera as well, normal battiers won't last very long. You will get battiers in the box with the camera.
@@SamCambetis oh ok awesome. Will do. Yea I like the ring stick up cams just for the siren and the light feature is kinda nice for areas that are kinda dark but the only ones I have found is a 2 cam set for almost about 400 bucks. I like the idea of having 4 cams for under 300 and I guess if they don't work out for me I have 90 days to return them. My neighbors house has been broken into 2 times in the last month so I've been a little uneasy without any cameras around. I have an alarm system through my cable provider but they want 29 bucks a month extra and they will only throw in 1 camera. So 30 on top of the 28 I pay them already for the alarm for idk what. Just to monitor the camera they said. Rip off. These seen like the way to go though.
Another question. So if say backyard camera is picking up motion then someone walked to my front door will there be any conflict with 2 cameras saving motion at the same time? That clip you showed only took a 4 second clip?
Greetings Miss/Mrs Cambetis Thanks for your educational video, I really appreciate it. I also want to request permission to put a link of your video on my eBay page where I am selling this complete system. Thanks in advance
My blink camera battery lasted less than a month! I had it set to motion and audio detection at mid level sensitivity... alley cats prompted it often. And now it’s dead! Plus it’s only 720p boooooo! I’m advocating against Blink as a Blink camera owner. At least Arlo you can talk through and is 1040p and you can hardwire
blink just updated there software . It wont work on an iphone 4 its needs ios 10.3 or something like that. my app now wont work I have no cameras and to get it to work I have to buy a new phone. How sh1te is that.. I thought these were great buy to hell with that
I have this and will get rid of it as soon as I can afford a new system...I find they give information 5 mins after it detect something..............the battery life only lasts if u do not turn it on to see what is happening out side ...I live in the NYC... I have a camera in front of my house and in back...the one in front we use more because we need to know what is going on in front...the battery does NOT last.............and also Blink whats to tell you how long u can have it on....so the system for us sucks
If you have it aimed out on street with constant motion of foot and car traffic it's only natural batteries will die so fast due to constant recording. Likewise heat & cold will deplete battery faster as will having a weak wifi signal strength. It uses piddly little batteries so can't expect much. A lot of advertising specs are always "best case" (ie lowest) setting rather than 'real world' scenarios.
Great video! I would recommend checking out Blink's Online Community (community.blinkforhome.com)! There's a lot of cool info there and is a great place to ask tech related questions as well!
After searching and searching for outdoor wireless cameras, I’m now sold on the Blink XT. Thank you!
+Emmanuel Becerra I'm really happy with them! 😊
+Emmanuel Becerra no worries!
I recently bought a set of 3 camaras. I’m going to buy another 2.
Thank you for explaining Everything on the settings.
Great job. You're awesome
Thanks Ricky! Much appreciated 😊

Loved that music in the intro.
Good job! Best explanation of settings on RUclips as it relates to this device. TY
Thanks!
I ordered mine this morning, thanks for the great in depth review and install!
The best explanation, thank you

i love mine they just need to do a door bell camera version now
Agreed! They where talking about doing a door bell camera but they never released it :(
Come on blink we need that bell haha

Hi, will this camera be compatible with my iPad?
This has been such a great investment for us. I like not having to sign contracts or monthly payments. I'm shopping for more monitors to place on the side of my home so people will stop burning my plants, stealing my fruit trees and throwing rocks at my dog.

Does blink x2 need a subscription
You did a great job awosom
I'll say this is one of the best Setup guide, I wonder if you will like to do a setup guide for Blink xt2? anyway thanks for such a helpful setup guide.
Thank you! I'm pretty sure it will be the same as the xt. If I purchase some more cameras I might do an updated guide.
@@SamCambetis Thank you for your reply, wish you have a good weekend.
What if you turn off motion detection? Can you set it when to record e.g at night time only?
You need motion detect on to record. You can set a schedule so that it only records at night time between certain hours.
Thanks 4 sharing, this was very helpful
Do u have to pay for the cloud storage and If its free how much storage do they give you.
Thanks for the review! Ordered two XT cameras and looking forward to them arriving and setting them up. 👍
Is WiFi required? Or can you use mobile data? And is it required that Wifi stays on, or can you use a mobile hotspot to activate the aystem and than turn the hotspot off?
Thank you . I really enjoy listening and learning :-)
What is the sync module for ? What does it do ? What is the maximum clip length ?
The Sync Module acts as a hub between your Blink wireless home security cameras and the cloud. You can connect up-to 10 Blink cameras per sync moduleand use our home security app from anywhere.
The default clip length is 5 seconds, but you can adjust that in the app to be up to 60 seconds long, with an option to cut aclip short if motion stops. (Blink warns that extending the default length of eachclip will cut down on battery life.)
Can the outdoor model be used indoors?
Yep.
If the sync module go´s off then does it turn on automatically and connects to the camera? same if wifi goes of, does it turn on automatically??
+Gudmundur Arnason when our power went out, it all turned on automatically.
thanks :)
Excellent video Sam. I hope you have one on the Samsung system
If I buy the indoor camera set. Can I add an outdoor camera to the set later.
Yep
How far can the Cameras be from the base?
can you view the recording on a laptop computer
Yeah I'm pretty sure you can by going to the website.
Nice review thanks
If you mentioned it, I didn't hear it, but where is the video stored? Is it on your phone, in the cloud, etc, and is there a fee? Thanks.
+WS P it's stored in the cloud. You get 14 days of free storage. 😊
14 days of free storage is quite good.
Stored in the cloud, you can edit your storage when ever you want which is what I do. I save the videos to my phone. Unlimited storage!!!
If the sync module only worked. 3 hours on the phone with customer service, 4 hours on my own and a replacement sync module. Doesn't connect and Blink has no idea why. Return. But thanks for the video, well done.
Thanks that was very nice!🙂
Can I enable just one camera even though I have four setup
Yes. You can disable each camera individually if you want.
Great review
Wonderful video! How do I get alerted for motion detection?
+Alexa Alice you just need to arm the cameras (which is in the app) then your phone will get notifications. But you need the app on what ever phone you want to be notified on.
Great video. thank you. Question, how long is each recording?
You can set it for 15 sec 30 sec up to you.
Up to 60 seconds with a 10 second retrigger time.
invalid serial number on red ,how can i do ?
II have an android phone. How can I install Blink with that?
+Richard Young you just need to go to the play store and download the Blink app. I have an Android phone as well.
Supreme555 You have IOS? Do you have to take a loan for buying toilet paper? :p
Well explain and detailed I'll buy one and you are very beautiful and got sweet and beautiful hands
Hi Sam thanks for the Blink XT Review. Do you know whether these will work in NZ too?
Thanks for watching! They should do. I can't see any reason why they wouldn't.
Do you enter a wifi password or blink password?
You need to enter your WiFi password in on the app to connect your cameras to the sync module . And you will to create an account when you download the blink app, so then you will need to choose a password for that login account.
Nice video, except you wearing a Berserkley shirt. Go Cardinal. LOL
anyone know how long these batteries last? Not how long the company says, how long they actually last?

i have problem i just bought blink and when i connect it and i go to the app there is no network wifi to connect the blink home " how can i fix it "
+Royal 445 there is a pin hole to reset the WiFi module. Try pressing that in.
