To pair a Xbox controller do I just use the button on the box or do I do it through the remote for the tv box? Cool video thanks this thing is awesome for twenty bucks
I love given up on fire stick and got two of these . Fires ticks aren’t what they use to be anymore they constantly crash and stop working all together especially the remote so the fact you can pair your console remotes to use is hands down a win win for the onn Android box
Pretty cool! I have one of these and didn’t know that RetroArch was on here! I love retro emulation especially with a Raspberry Pi and will have to try this out! Thank you!
It's worth adding that this little box also has a mode on the display settings to change to game mode. Which makes gaming very smooth. Also, as it's running Android 13 it's one of the few android boxes which allows a PS5 controller to be connected when using PlayStation remote play
@@epicproducts5583 if you can't find it on the Onn box settings I suspect you'd have to try and calibrate it change the display through the TV settings
These Onn box's keep getting better! It's the only device that will easily allow screencast without wifi - hotspot activated on a motogplay POS phone!! Now this! Love it!
Yeah this model is a little more powerful with a whopping 2GB of ram but on the non 4k version with 1GB I was able to get N64 running flawlessly. They’re beasts when it comes to anything up to ps1/n64. Especially good with gb/gba
I can’t recommend any sites in particular for obvious reasons, but you can find safe and reliable ones if you look. And you can download the roms directly to the device as well.
I don't seem to have a way to add or download roms. My google about loading the emus I had from the play store and they start right up but no roms to use.
I just got one of these onn android box and tried to install RetroArch on it. Originally it didn't detect the USB stick until I went into developer mode and have the USB debugging on and the bottom section to allow USB read/write from apps. What is super annoying is that when going to RetroArch when trying to browse for a rom, can't get back to the previous screen from the white remote control. Every time press the left back button it just show a black screen. Is there a certain button that needs to be pressed or a setting change? Tried adding a blu tooth game remote. It takes a while and every time after it reboots it needs to connect back again. Is there a setting that would have it remember the connections?
So I had one unit that did remember connections and one that wouldn’t. Seems to be some software differences.. As far as button mapping I’ve had issues with it as well, I think possibly in retro arch there’s a menu to fix it up
@@TG_Geek it's okay I believe there are other methods to getting the downloader app, plus I'm going to buy a onn streaming box tomorrow,I'm just watching a bunch of videos to see what I can do on it.appreciate the reply tho
Might be the amount of games, I believe this is a first gen box as well and I was able to get away with retro arch just fine. I did only have one game installed however.
Please pin my comment to help users enable apps Only Mode, which declutters the home screen and improves the device's performance. 😊 1. Turn on your Android TV Use your remote to navigate to the Home screen. 2. Open the Settings Menu Scroll to the top or bottom of the Home screen and select the Settings gear icon (usually located in the top-right corner). 3. Navigate to Device Preferences Scroll down and select Device Preferences or directly find Apps Only Mode under the "Home" or "Preferences" section (varies by TV model). 4. Enable Apps Only Mode Locate Apps Only Mode (under the Home screen or similar menu). Toggle the switch to turn it ON. 5. Confirm Activation A prompt will appear explaining that recommendations and other features will be hidden. Select OK or Enable to confirm. 😊

Niice, What about to Calibrate Display on third party apps? Cant find it and its my only issue with it since its cutting corners.

Noice. I would have expected up to 4th gen consoles, that is awesome it can rock some n64.

I find retroarch to be difficult too use, so I will go with the individual emulators on google play.
How do you connect 2 controllers?
Any tips now that retroarch is outdated (for now) ?

Sideload an app called Force Pair. You'll have no more issues with your controllers disconnecting
Is the download apps still available in app store?I saw a lot of people were saying that it got removed
I have not checked since making the video, but Ive heard that from a lot of people I can check and get back to you.

@oxbadcode6573 Alright then Lmk what you find out
I just got one and it says it was made for older versions on Android. It won't let me download sadly
@justindickerson8398 That’s unfortunate, it worked back when I tried it.
Will a PS3 controller pair with ONN.
Has Bluetooth so should work fine
does it have a browser? I want to search and watch movies or anime on my tv
You can side load a browser onto it, but from what I’ve heard from others trying they may have removed it
Can GameCube ps2 work
Can you play ps3 games 😢?
yes very good
Retroarch kept crashing for me it might have been the 3k games I had on my USB or I had the 1st Gen box.

Too underpowered to truly be emulation device and Google has removed external storage access, stick to streaming device and be happy.
