Fishing in Chile was a great experience, the country is beautiful and the fishing was excellent. Had the best time of my life fishing on the Rio Simpson and I would go back any time to do it again and . Spent 5 days fishing different rivers and only once I saw someone else fishing, it was like having the whole river to only yourself. The bad part of being in Patagonia is sometimes I would have to look up at the scenery and my guide would be yelling at me I have a strike but it was worth it to once in a while to miss one just to admire the view of the spectacular countryside.
Abner, I just returned from fishing the Simpson and I agree with your every comment. The wind was a challenge and the fish made it worthwhile. I have caught a lot of fish and I have caught big fish, but never have I caught so many big fish on one trip. Chilean food is very good and quite familiar to North Americans. My only sadness is that I cannot return to Patagonia more than once a year.
Thank you for sharing this experience with us. I love to add this film to our FFTC RUclips Channel Playlists to share this with our FFTC Members. Chile seems to be a beautiful place to go fly fishing. Keep on going. Always tight lines.
According to their website, 5 days' package is 4390 USD per person (including picking you up from the Airport, you pay for the flight yourself, of course). Single day's guidance services only - 600 USD per two people. I know these are normal market prices, but still, this is not even for the middle class, imho. Not many people can afford this. I'm not poor but I would rather go alone and catch less than pay this (or any, for that matter) sort of money for a couple of bits of advice :/ Maybe I'm missing something... On the other hand, it's great that there's a market for this, even if it's an elite one. A win-win situation for both local guiding companies and wealthy foreigners.
Those fave cover things crack me up. Someone started saying they were for fishing and that's all it took for people to buy them and wear them all the time. I've never once thought I needed to cover my face while fishing. I just don't get it. I guess if you've got a big zit you don't want your buddies to see, hahahaha
You obviously haven’t fished crystal clear rivers or saltwater flats that literally mirror the sun onto your skin also most of these places are super bug infested
@@cimford6629 And for your eyes. fished bone fish flats. thought my face was protected. But sun reflected ocff white sand and my eyes were really swollen.
Happily I'm Chilean and I enjoy looking people fishing and releasing in my country! What a wonderful place and what a wonderful sport!
To all my fishers fellas, be welcome. I am proud and thankfull to live here. One of the most beautifull place in the world without doubt.

I am sure that Francisco sees his guests catch fish much larger than those than Colin caught in this episode
Sure he does, thats why I have to go back!!!
Why (me included)do all of us always seek the "big" one???????????????
Isn’t there Golden Dorado in those stretch of rivers? I would have taken a guide for that fish just my opinion. Awesome video nonetheless👍
