Blum's point about movies with huge budgets having watered down stories because they can't take risks makes so much sense ! Wish more studios would understand that.
+Elijah Unapanta I couldn't agree with you more Eljah! Scream has been overlooked for so long, and it's kind of annoying. Blumhouse has the perfect mindset and ingredients, to revive Scream in a way that we haven't seen it in a looonnggg time. It's a brilliant idea. Aside from Wes Craven (RIP) Blumhouse is the only film company I trust with Scream. And good news, there's talk about that right now, and it's from Jason Blum himself.
This was such a great interview. Dan asked a lot of the questions that both people in the industry and people who enjoy movies are interested in hearing the answers to. I'd love to see more interviews like this on the channel. Keep 'em coming, guys!
This interview is great but that guy is clearly a little intimidated by his boss sitting right next to him. Not to say Jason Blum is a jerk, he's awesome I could just feel that directors nervousness lol
Agreed but even though it felt a little awkward, on the other hand it was cool in that this felt like old hollwyood where the studio producer shows up to promote the talent. It's not something I've personally witnessed much of.
It's kinda funny how we get 3 times as many horror movies as superhero movies every year yet the comment sections of videos like this never get the same backlash. Anyway, I love interviews like this and I'm glad it finally got released.
I hope we have a "Happy Death Day 2", which is only a spiritual successor to the first one without plot attachment. Maybe make the story in another setup (say western)

Blumhouse has a really great business model. And Jason Blum seems like a really nice guy.
No Horror Movie is as creepy as the creep who stopped this from being released earlier
I’ve only ever seen pictures of Jason Blum but omg in real life he’s ADORABLE and seems like such a SWEETHEART AHHHHH I WANNA SCREAM!
They should get the rights to the scream franchise, blumhouse could do really cool thing with it
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
leave scream alone

Financial restriction breeds creative innovation

Wow...Landon looks a lot younger than 42
Is it me, or does Jason Blum look like Castiel from supernatural
I find he looks like Karl Urban
danemlive he certainly has a look of him
More like Jordan Belfort
Psh, he WISHES he had anything on the miracle that is Misha Collins.
This was a very informative interview.. great work team!
Thank you so much for this, what a treat!
Loving the horror discussions you've been doing... please keep them coming!!!
An enlightening interview. Blum's philosophy on movies is applicable to other forms of art/creative as well.

Felt it a little.
WOAH! This is big!
Great interview, Dan! Jason and Chris were awesome.
SJU have been killing it with the guests lately
I love when you have industry professionals involved in the discussion.
Happy Death Day will now forever be in the list of memorable modern horror 👏🎂
Keep this Up! I love these type of things.
Jason Blum is the goat for making Blum house
Great interview!
Great interview Dan
Happy Death Day is great. It was my #1 personal favourite movie of the year.
Best slasher since Scream imo
really regret missing this one in theatres

I love Jason Blum he is a genius !!!
Dan IS THE BEST!
This content here. I like this.
It's "Blu-ray" by the way.
Whoops, clicked cause I thought it said "Steven Blum". Ah well, thumbs up while I'm here.
i can't wait to see the Spawn Reboot.
REALLY cool :)
Jason Blum: you have 1 dollar to make this movie, if you go over budget I'll kick your ass!
What?? Someone wrote and directed Paranormal Activities films? Was that needed?
Before I watch this do they talk about Spawn ?
I hope we have a "Happy Death Day 2", which is only a spiritual successor to the first one without plot attachment.

Thought that was Thomas the train in the thumbnail
For some reason Jason Blum's voice to me does not match his appearance! XD
I agree. His voice and mannerisms reminded me of Scott Mantz.
This was the most revealing interview since Tom Cruise on Oprah.
That's not a good sign.
Landon is 42!! How!?
lol sj could care less chris is there
Jesus, you basically made a cheap horror/comedy version of Doug Liman's Edge of Tomorrow.. So, stop acting like you were charting new waters, dude.
PG - 13 IS NOT HORROR
Happy death day was hot garbage, not horror.
Ruining horror
