I've been playing this one for over a year. Every once in a while I come back and see how far I've strayed from Master Adrian's version. The lesson that continues to teach.
This lesson is worth its weight in gold , its a complete bag of tricks that puts a whole song together rather than a series of dozen bits broken up in a series of lessons that don't make sense. NEED MORE OF THIS
How anyone could give this a thumbs down, quite literally boggles my mind. Great video with lots of essential skills presented really well with a great breakdown. Thanks very much.
It is probably one of the best Up v Down ratios out there 2000+ to 15. There are always going to be the trolls, as we know. Adrian has some of the best guitar content out there!
Exactly what I was going to post. It's a very under represented topic in online guitar instruction and the example sounds very good and well presented.
this is amazing thank you ADRIAN I LOVE YOUR LESSONS I love this style of playing FROM CANADA AN OLD SENIOR, that appreciate the work you put in all your lessons . You have a lot of feel for your music I admire that .I don't have the lightning speed of some guitar hot shots because of an old injury on my left hand ( at work ) so I depend a lot on my feel for what I try to put out to the listeners .I still play and learn thanks to people like you , Blues is my choice
I've thoroughly enjoyed learning this lesson. I'll never be able to play it as well as you do, but, even my half-ass version sounds pretty darn good. Thank you!
I quite appreciate the fact that you are willing to embrace both the blues and the more unconventional pieces that you present so well. Your eclectic approach is why your channel is so appealing. Keep on being you!
Nicely put, Adrian is probably my favourite “instructor” on RUclips, not just because of his great presenting style but also because of his wide ranging approach. Too many lessons on here focus on fret numbers and pentatonic noodling, Adrian is much more thoughtful and frankly interesting.
Thank you, Adrian. A great lesson. I appreciate how patiently you show how it is done. One thing that would help your viewers would be to recap occasionally upto the point where you are. What happens is that as you go from lick to lick you forget how it is supposed to sound overall. You have to go back to the beginning and hear you do it again. A quick run-through after each section would be really helpful. thanks
The most useful lesson on blues lead guitar I have ever seen. It rivals Andy Timmons lesson on blues comping in my book. I think it boils down to the individual licks being so tasteful. They're almsost all cliches - how could they not be in a lesson on blues lead guitar - so it's the good taste that offsets that and makes the lesson more valuable. But then there's the G to F# change at the end, which reminds me of Robben Ford, who warps those blues cliches. Anyone Can Play Guitar is a fantastic resource. I have found plenty of lessons that have been very very helpful, but I find Adrian's lessons consistently interesting and applicable. For an intermediate guitar who has struggled to become a better all round player Adrian's lessons are a godsend.
What a pleasant surprise, finding instructions without constantly calling out the string and fret. Just call the notes that's all I need and others may learn the notes of the neck.... Which everyone should know....Thank you so much
Another stunning piece of musicianship and patient, logical instruction. It always takes me some time to learn your material but totally worth it. I did learn that piece a while back-the run that starts up high on the neck with the open ringing notes as you descend. You said it is a great one to do at the guitar store. It is!! I have donated to your site......probably due again. Thanks.
Hello Adrian 👋 … I am once again re-visiting your fantastic lesson here. This lesson teaches me not only in my mind, and my fingers, but more so my ears… Thank You! As others have a alluded to here, the lesson that keeps on teaching, even years later! 🎸🎶
Your a great teacher you explain the notes and the chords very clearly. You were a great help thank you from one Guitar player to another. Keep on pickin!
My playing has improved just from watching 2 of your lessons. Priceless. You are doing something very special. Thank you from Connecticut. New England loves the Blues.
Just an absolute killer of a lesson, thank you Adrian. I tried this a year or so ago and it was somewhat challenging for my abilities at the time. Ive re visited and im absolutley loving it. As last comment flagged, how anyone could thumbs down you on this is ridiculous. I became a Patreon based on this lesson. Thank you, and know that your reaching the educated masses......
This is a great lesson, and if you’re thinking “I want to play this note for note”, it’ll be difficult. But the blues don’t have to work that way. Learn and practice your minor pentatonic and blues scales, and learn enough basic theory to understand what works over what chords. Nothing in here is SRV-level difficult. Think of this lesson as a series of licks you can use, and it’ll be a lot easier to digest and learn from. Find a B minor blues backing track, and with work you’ll be able to improvise and develop your own sound. With the added bonus of it’ll be fun.
hi Jessie, I'd advise any beginner to check out Jamie Andreas on RUclips (a classically trained guitarist). She doesn't teach how to play particular music types as such. She teaches how to practice the guitar properly with an emphasis on avoiding tension in the body, correct hand technique, avoiding and correcting mistakes and so on. As she wisely puts it, practicing badly just makes you better at being a bad guitarist lol :-)
Your channel is so enjoyable because it embraces such a wide variety of styles. For example, I'm not a particular fan of Jazz guitar especially but I've found myself playing some super chord sequences (the chords are super - not me lol) that I'd never have encountered otherwise. Happy days and thanks for your hard work. There must be thousands of improved guitarists thanks to this channel [footnote - I've joined on Patreon - happy days :-)]
Thanks again Adrian, I love what you do with the notes in the mixing of the lead and rythm and teach it so I can understand it and play it mostly after a few looks and then just play along without looking but just listening.I caught the Page lick the first time I heard it and it works so well.I've saved a couple more to work on.The way you break it down from the full bar chord to a couple of string helps immensely. Thanks again.
Only channel I can afford to be a patreon of. Love all the left of centre stuff but to be an all round good guitarist it mostly starts with the blues, great stuff. Your channel is a credit to you.
Fantastic blues !!! Just the soul flies !!! He clearly explained how to play it. I already learned it. Thanks! I'd like to ask to show more of these things! 👏👏👏👍👍👍🤝👋
Great stuff Adrian! Right in the pocket for me. I have to practice to play it at tempo but not so difficult that I get lost in technique challenge and miss the intent. Understanding the relationship between chords and note selection is what I need to focus on. Perfect!
Man O man, this is great! So much useful info. Working on it. Really, really appreciate you sharing it Adrian. That slower walk through of the entire piece is real helpful. Thanks again man, Dave in the Adirondacks
Absolutely fantastic lesson, and so, so helpful! I got the tabs from your Patreon so I can play along. As I've been working on B.B. King's The Thrill Is Gone with my guitar teacher, your B minor blues lesson here is the perfect complement. Thank you again for all you do!
First off, THANK YOU for putting in the effort to post this lesson. After putting my guitar down for about 5 years I finally picked it up again and your lessons are inspiring me to get back in and stay with it. I prefer blues but also like the "weird" stuff. I learn several pearls of wisdom with each lesson because of your talent and patience in teaching us how to incorporate them into our own styles. Once again, thanks.
Love these kinda videos. I almost always find something to take away from a vid like this. Id like to c something similar on a different style of music preferably in a major key.
More blues. More strumming and riff lessons. This is Fanfreakintastic. I’ve listened to it on repeat for almost 24 hours straight. Almost got it memorized. You do any acoustic?
Very Nice Adrian, and your explanation as well! I am one of the guys who said.....YES!!!!! And once again you definitely delivered the goods!!! Thank You Very Much!!!!!
Great playing friend . Beautiful ❤️ blues . Love your selection of different notes. The Strat sounds great and the Vox 30 . The amp is more important than the guitar 🎸. For sound. Anything sounds good in a good little 30 watt valve combo. Thankyou for the great lessons friend , your my favourite teacher.
Great tutorial, lots of good stuff there for the marmalade nighters and if I'm being honest one or two for me. The kind of stuff my dad used to constantly play (on his red Mexican strat) trying to convince me it was what I should be learning. He was rarely wrong and if you listened to him, never wrong. It's a genuine way to add colour to your palette, so I'm off to mix some oils. Looks like the old fella was right again. 😎🎸✅
Perfect for "intermediate to semi-decent noob" guitar players 👌 Enjoyed the lesson.. Thanks for throwing a nice simple pentatonic lesson in for us "less sophisticated" guys who's just wanna practice the basics n stuff 😂
No wonder you can play Adrian , look at the length of those fingers , great groove , this one love it , also love the alternate stuff , any lesson you learn something is totally worth it , Well done keep me coming ! 🎸🎸👍👍🍻🍻
I've been playing this one for over a year. Every once in a while I come back and see how far I've strayed from Master Adrian's version. The lesson that continues to teach.

The Straw Men at least one out of 10 people are a holes
They don't have a life, simple as that!
Exactly what I was going to post. It's a very under represented topic in online guitar instruction and the example sounds very good and well presented.
Speaking of thumbs, you see how he uses his thumb???...Just like Hendrix and Stevie Ray!!..
this is amazing thank you ADRIAN I LOVE YOUR LESSONS I love this style of playing FROM CANADA AN OLD SENIOR, that appreciate the work you put in all your lessons . The RUclips guitar chap with the best taste in music
Great lesson.... Love your blues playing...yes, more blues!
Thanks Chris. Yes, glad you appreciate the diversity, certainly keeps things interesting for me!
I was gonna say something similar, but you said it just right.
Nicely put, Adrian is probably my favourite “instructor” on RUclips, not just because of his great presenting style but also because of his wide ranging approach. Too many lessons on here focus on fret numbers and pentatonic noodling, Adrian is much more thoughtful and frankly interesting.

you are a genus. I am so impressed by the diversity of genres and quality of your playing.
Sounds awesome!!! Tasty tone and sound! Thanks a lot for this lesson!! More of mixing if rhythm and lead, please! Perhaps a complete course?
Your playing is what you are, it shows your true color, true love on playing the Blues. Awesome talent.
best guitar playing I’ve heard all day

Am gonna slowly work my way through all these lead/rhythm mix lessons, love it! Thanks Adrian, very inspiring
Yes, finally some proper music! For someone who plays so much artsy stuff you're a hell of a bluesman Adrian! Keep it coming :-)
What a pleasant surprise, finding instructions without constantly calling out the string and fret.
Just call the notes that's all I need and others may learn the notes of the neck....
Which everyone should know....Thank you so much
This! It really drags down a lesson when people are saying put this finger on this string on this fret. Just need the notes and our ears.
Lovely touch. Great phrasing. Loved it . . .

Lovely strat. Lovely tone. Lovely playing.
Cheers Dom!

Absolutely brilliant lesson. Great playing. Cheers
Adrian, Count me among your "more like this" fans. Tasteful licks, no matter the style, are a great help to all players. Thanks!!
Yes!!! Blues impro love it well done Adrian….more please more!!!
I’ve been practicing my 6ths a lot lately. My phone heard me and popped up your lesson. Your a great teacher. Thank you very much
Your a great teacher you explain the notes and the chords very clearly. You were a great help thank you from one Guitar player to another. Keep on pickin!

Great lesson mate, keep the blues coming, awesome 👍👍
'Proper Music' - thanks for the well judged presentation and fluency of the explanation and great playing.
Finally some proper music, sounds great. I hope to see more like this from you..Thanks..
Yes this is what I need to progress!😎
This is very helpful….clearly useful in many situations.
Good to see you back on some good Blues! Love your stuff!!! Thanks again for putting it out there!

I totally agree! How can anyone give this a thumbs down? Adrian, finally a real not ego inflated teacher. Thanks Adrian!
anyone who thumb this down IS JEALOUS PERIOD ! I ADMIRE THIS MAN ( senior from CANADA ) he has a multitude of styles .
I’m just a beginner, but I really wish I could some day play this piece, You are Great 👍👍
You can, just be persistent, and take it a part piece by piece. It will materialize.

Very good lesson worth the effort of getting through it as it's a proper lesson, thanks Adrian.

Excellent lesson!
Yeah, gimme more blues, I love it!
Thank you Adrian for this .....Proper Music Tutorial..... Cheers!!! Greatly Enjoyed.... Musician/Artist USA
Thank you for always emphasizing timing. So many other youtubers show you the phrases, licks, etc but don't really mention the vital part of timing
Yewh! I needed this! Awesome. In a Jazz context would be legit too!!!
Really enjoyed working on this...thanks Adrian
Excellent. Thank you!
Great lesson AOC, thanks for your hard work 👍👍👍

It goes without saying really but another great lesson man...thanks. Just thought I'd throw in a comment for the algorithm.
Thanks Kenny, appreciated. Got to keep that algorithm happy!
This sounds AWESOME! 🎸🎶
I for one am very happy for the blues lessons. Well done.
Really appreciate the mixing of lead with rhythm. Very helpful! Thanks Adrian.
White Strat with mint green pickguard. Classy
