Forging the Master Sword (Legend of Zelda) in my own post apocalyptic style.
I’ve always been a fan of The Legend of Zelda and I have wanted to do a Master Sword build for a while, but I needed something different, something special, to really make it worth the effort. While looking for references for another build I stumbled across the title art for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and there it was, the solution to that ‘what else’ staring me right in the face: the decaying master sword prominently posed striking trough that titular ‘Z.’ And so the idea, which should have been blatantly obvious to me all along given my obsession with the post apocalyptic art style, was born. What if I forge the master sword from the end of the world? How do I create something that looks as if it might have come out of the nuclear wastelands of Fallout, yet still pay proper homage to a piece so legendary, so ingrained in pop culture, so recognizable as the Master Sword? What materials do I use? Which parts need to be substantially altered? Which parts must stay true to the original form? How do I create something that is a perfect merging of these two drastically different worlds? These are all questions that I asked myself repeatedly throughout the process, that I mulled over for days and pondered before bed at night. I hope you enjoy my answer.

I wonder what a medieval blacksmith would think seeing one of these videos. What techniques he will find familiar, what would he be able to figure out, and what would totally look like magic.
I know this comment is from a year ago but I've given it some thought. I think that once you were able to get through explaining how you're able to conjure up this vision of a blacksmith making a sword through your lightning powered looking glass, the rest would be smooth sailing.

@Nathaniel Rothmeyer I did not know that you needed paperwork to create these things. Since they could be considered an artwork. As long as it has a dull edge it is not a weapon even if it could harm someone.

This guy deserves so much more than 3.3m views on this. This is epic. Theres a guy who made 114m views just for making a katana out of a rusty chain. This is way more epic, i mean common....at 15:30 when he puts it all together is so satisfying, cant imagine how satisfying it was for him.

Using an old leaf spring to forge a master sword is pretty cool
I see many videos of "post apocalyptic" sword and knives that are simply a way of being lazy but this is a genuinely well made sword, just with whatever was lying around.
P.S. i hope Nintendo uses this as inspiration for the next dark link design

Why would you ever want to remove that scent? It would go away after a few days of you don't work with metal
