Make of me and instrument of thy peace.
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow thy love;
Where there is injury, thy pardon, Lord;
And where there's doubt, true faith in thee.
Make of me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is discord, let me bring accord;
Where there is falsehood, only thy truth;
Where there is despair, only thy hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, everlasting joy.
Make of me an instrument of thy peace.
O Master, Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled,
as to console those in need;
To be understood, as to understand,
To be loved, as to love one another.
Make of me an instrument of thy peace.
For it is in giving that we receive;
In surrendering that we behold;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to life eternal.
Make of me an instrument of thy peace.
