Hello everyone! Hope you're all doing well x
I've recently sold a couple of handbags that no longer fit with my lifestyle ie. some tote bags and decided to pick up the Saint Laurent Kate Bag in Medium.
I also wanted to take the chance to review some of my most worn and favourite bags including the Chloe Tess, Acne Musubi Mini and Loewe Straw Basket Bag.

Really enjoyed your talking through your favorite bags, which I’ve admired seeing you style up for a while now. I’ll be repeating myself but that black currant color of the Tess bag is sublime. I could never get enough of it haha 😍 I agree about structure and versatility being the most important features.. You make such smart choices. I'm surprised the APC Albane bag was not on your list. Everytime you mention it , I lust over it!
The Albane is such a great bag :) The only reason I don't reach for it as much is just that I am a crossbody/or top handle kind of girl. Otherwise, for shoulder bags, that is my top pick xx
I just bought the Chloe Tess and Acne Misubi bag in the same colors! I am always curious to see what a bag can hold.
Hi,
on the tag there is the 'Style ID' (= name of the bag, leather and colour) and if you type in the last 4 or so digits on the YSL website all the products with that colour will show up. Then you can see how YSL named that colour.
It looks like yours is 'Powder'(?) if it says '9906' on the tag...

The musubi bag is an absolute dream of mine. But I can't decide which color to get. I love this warm brown but I only can find this bag in a cooler shade of brown online...

I came across the acne musubi bag in high school and immediately dismissed the idea of purchasing it once I saw the price tag. But after watching this video, I'm seriously considering buying the bag 😁
I definitely dismissed a lot of things back in high school uni as well (mostly due to price tag haha). But I was going through my bags really quickly as some more affordable bags I used to buy just started to look tired really quickly after 1-2 years. So that's when I started to buy better and the quality difference is really very noticeable :) Hope this video gave you some extra info to help x

Do you have any sustainable suggestions for blouses that share the same aesthetic as Dôen but not as pricey?
Hi Sarah :) I've been searching for more sustainable brands to support lately, but in terms of Doen, all I can think of for more affordable are madewell, & other stories (both of which are not sustainable brands). Otherwise, there are a lot of sellers that do Doen second hand e.g. @doensecondhand on Instagram which makes their pieces a bit more affordable. If I come across any brands, I will share xx

Hi :) I just took a look at it and I like the concept. However, I prefer something a bit more structured and also, I'm not much of a Suede person when it comes to bags so I think at the end of the day, I would just prefer the classic Kate. I can definitely see the appeal though of having 2 bags in 1 :) x

Honestly I cannot remember the thought process haha but my full name is not very catchy and I was just playing around with words when I landed on it. "Lumière" is light in French, so when you say "Lumière d'Helen", it 's like you are talking about the light that you brings or the light which come from you. Love the bags! But, what do you think of the APC Albane Shoulder Bag? I'm still trying to decide if the maroon/red/wine color is a good investment. I'm starting my internship as an auditor at a Big 4 firm, so I'm thinking that it is about time to have a "grown-up" bag. :)

There are so many good recommendations here already! I agree with all of these but here are some extra recommendations for options:
My best recommendation would be Cuyana as they make great quality handbags e.g. their tote bag options for something practical and minimal.
Mansur Gavriel tote bags are great - I love the way the smooth vegetable tanned leather ages (it will mark but I think that adds to the charm of the bag).
The APC bag has not scratched for me at all, however as it is rigid, the corners get some creasing/fold marks. It is not very noticeable. Otherwise this is such a beautiful and polished looking bag. The only reason I don't reach for it more is because I personally am more of a top handle, or crossbody kind of person.
