Great advice as usual. The most important takaway of this lesson for me is that first lines are important. I've never really thought about that. I've written and published many books. Some of them have great first lines because it felt right at the moment, but most of them have more of an introduction type beginning. The best first line I can find is "A thin steel wire went from Mikko's harness to a wheel on a rail in the ceiling." (The Bad Jack)

It's literature. Love it or hate it, "fucked" is a word.
