Dejan was my favorite player 10 years ago.
Greatest midfielder ever to not be called the greatest midfielder of modern times. Did it all. Great shot. Great header. Strong. Fast. Aggressive. Teamplayer. Tactically smart. Defensively strong. Worked very hard. Passionate about the shirt and football.
Not many midfielders were better. Brilliant player.
Would be the third on my Inter team list only behind Zanetti and Ronaldo.

Uno dei centrocampisti più completi e continui che abbia visto negli ultimi 20 anni. Per di più, giocatore moderno, che oggi probabilmente giocherebbe titolare in qualsiasi centrocampo europeo.
Ma parlando come tifoso, ho sempre avuto un debole per Stankovic sul piano del carattere: trascinante, cattivo, decisivo nei big match (quanti gol ha segnato nei derby?!). Sono questi i giocatori che onorano la storia di un grande club.

Resistenza allo sforzo pazzesca, forza sia nello stacco che nel tiro e una tecnica che farebbe impallidire sti mezzi giocatori, vedi Pjanic o lo stesso Eiksen, che ora vengono definiti campioni! Che nostalgia, un idolo!!!!
The most spectacular gol of Stankovic is one he made against Schalke in UCL 2010/2011...unfortunately Inter beaten during that match and Inter was out of UCL in round qtr final.

Quick but not lightening quick, can pass but he was no better than Sneijder or Recoba, and his shot was not at the same level as Nedved, and he wasn't a good dribbler either. 86 at most is fair i think. Just imo
He was like T. Muller but with better long shooting/passing technique (ofc with less offense instinct)...
Yeah, he wasn't a very exceptional player except for his work rate, stamina, legendary shooting, tactical awareness, world class ability to run in into the box from his side of the midfield, his heading skills, his skills in the defensive maneuvre, you know...ALL of that.
His shot wasn't at the same level as NEDVED?! HAHAHAHAH...i grew up watching that league, Nedved's shooting was NOWHERE near Stankovic's; stop playing Fifa with your stupid icon cards, we're talking about actual football here.
