This bow shop always seems to have great video content. The Archers in the Spokane area are lucky to have such a knowledgeable guy in their area.
It's a great place!
Excellent Video! I purchased the 3rd. Axis Brite sight. Had a tough time for a couple of minutes until you explained to get 1st axis then second and finally 3rd which came out perfect. Thanks again for the explanation and professionalism!!!!!
Same here… video brought it all together with that bright sight tool… thought my sight was bent… was literally about to go out and buy a new one.
my shop must be really good because they dont have to do any of this... just eyeball and take my money :( LOL thank you for the video, very clear easy to follow explanation of how to set up a sight.
You are welcome!
Yeah thats how the shops are around my area and when they set your bow up its still isn't right and they charge a arm and a leg for the shady work that they do thats why a bought a bow press and a bow vise to do all my own bow work myself
That’s because most hunting shops aren’t concerned with axis adjustments. Hunting and target archery are different concepts, despite the trendy target products marketed to hunters (tubeless peeps, D-loops, 3rd axis adjustments, etc) are all pointless. What matters is sighting in to your pins; it doesn’t matter what angle your pins are at. You’re still aiming the same dot at the same target. I’m not saying your shop isn’t shady, maybe they are, but at mine there’s a lot we don’t do simply because we don’t want to charge labor for a pointless adjustment, especially on newer shooters who are still struggling to make groups at 40 plus yards. You don’t need a fancy sight with 16 axis lined up perfectly. You need to practice.
@@PathkeeperOfficial I disagree with you here. A properly set up tool helps one improve. As with a cheap instrument(guitar) that will never tune properly and sound right. You will never be able to get past the basics. Having a bow set up properly from the get go will help you, with practice, improve faster with less frustration.
Great job, yours is the better explanation of leveling your sight and bow to the shooter.
Love the content and all your bring to the table for us newbies! Thanks for all you do!
Finally Dan...and Josh! I stopped by SVA and had a new string, rest and Spot hogg Hogg father put on, needed this vid for sure. Its shooting great, but want better. Thus will really help! Need to stop by again and grab the level and bow holder. Good excuse to swing by! Thanks. But I'm sure he did for me! I just suck! Lol
Awesome to hear! Those guys at SVA are awesome to work with.
Our local bow shops are not very professional here. Bought a new Mathews last year and watched the tech struggle through basic stuff. He was way off on my arrow rest, he set it by eye. I even questioned him about finding center. He said "not super important ". Went home and redid everything with my construction levels and equipment. Got it paper tuned and sighted in.
Only one place has a good shop and they are impossible to get in without serious planning. So I bought all my own equipment and here I am learning stuff🤷♂️
It’s more common than it seems. Good to know how to work on your gear anyway - tc
So glad I found this channel. I really enjoy the great content and how it is delivered. True professionals
thank you 🙏
Hey man I bought a halon from you, didn't know you had vids! Still waiting for bow to come in but it supposed to be here Wed. Nice vid bro, You just gained 1 new subscriber !
Thanks for the quality info team, what is the reason behind leveling the third axis at full draw? Just to account for potential hand torque?
Hey guys have you done the “shooting in” the third axis video yet?
Great video dude...
Hey guys thanks for the video, no matter which way i turn my third axis screw the bubble stays buried to the left...any suggestions would be much appreciated.
What is the brand name of the 90 degree string level you are using in this video.
I have the HHA tetra tournament with 2nd and 3rd axis adjustment ( single pin slider ) . I don’t understand how they expect
You to set second and third axis correctly if there’s no way to adjust first axis ? And first axis is definitely not in sync with my bowstring in level position or riser . How are you supposed to set this sight correctly ? Followed instructions but sight still looks slighty crooked . I used the Hamskea gen 2 level .
Where did you get the 2 way level? The one on your string.
If you’re adamant on leveling everything off of the string, which I understand why, how can you put the Hamskea tool on the riser of the bow for your 3rd axis? why not the string still? If that’s the case you should be able to do all of your measurements off the riser in the first place.
Was the “follow on” video for shooting to set your 3rd axis, which MFJJ mentions a couple of times in this one, ever made? I can’t seem to find it on the channel
I have a question.. If you level your string and level your sight to match, wouldnt that cause the rest not to be level since the string is not level to the bow.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..
Is it possible to have your pins in the same plane as your string but your bubble isnt level....is this the fault of the level not being set right from the factory?
I have single pin black Gold , same steps / concepts ? I have a OPM vise .. thx
I want that OPM vise - very similar steps!
Where can I buy a 2 way level ?
Give Spokane Valley Archery a call - ask for Josh www.spokanevalleyarchery.com
@@ElkShape I just purchased one from bowhunteroutlet.com "Ktech string level with 45 degree bubble" it was on sale, Good Price. Before buying I searched the internet, and found this same one ,currently out of stock on amazon, but all reviews where 5 star, so I went back to bowhunteroutlet.com and bought it. I really appreciate that you went of you way to help me. Thank You!
Are you looking thru your peep while adjusting your 3rd axis?
Mfjj from the past 🤯
Not that it really matters but there's no such thing as vertical level.
Level is horizontal and plumb is vertical.
I did like the video.
You should redo this video now that you've upped you video quality, great stuff though, thank you!
Pretty sure he only adjusted 2nd and 3rd axis. The bubble on the scope is a visual 2nd axis reference while aiming.
just waiting for MFJJ to dry fire a bow
This video isn’t working for some reason
Same here - sent RUclips a message, thanks for catching that, it was working last week.
Elk Shape ok hopefully they fix it, was looking forward to this video. I have the same sight and bow.
@@IndianaArcher I think it is back up.
When he draws back with his hand. 🥺
I know! I got chills!
that' was the only way to do it back in the 80's-you would use 3 fingers
@@dpidaho4245 with no arrow on the string? The 80s were nuts man...😂🤣😂
Was enjoying the video until he drew back without an arrow. I have never seen any bow shop condone that!
Terrible explanation
