the resonance and support Ariana has throughout her entire vocal range is insane… she’s truly in her vocal prime right now. her head voice right now is top class as well. resonant and piercing. very good Ariana !!!
Some years ago Ariana wouldn’t have been able to sing this song without crying her heart out. So I love obviously her vocals and everything, but the thing I love the most is to see her healing and in peace ❤
She still has it after 10 years.😀 So great to hear her sing this song again. "I love the way" that she sings this song. 🤣I can't believe it's been 10 years, seems like it was just yesterday. One of my favorite songs from her. I can't get enough of the orchestra, brings this song to a whole other level. Great reaction and please do more Ariana, we miss seeing her around.♥♥♥
She's only getting better ☺️ and this song is such a bop! The orchestra and whole production is so good 🩵 More Ariana is coming for sure ☺️ Thank you so much for watching!!
I don’t understand why people say “I love the whistles” those are not whistles guys! She’s using her falsetto range. Listen to her when she sings the climax of god is a woman on her latest tour. In the studio version she uses her falsetto and on the tour her whistle register. Big difference.
I agree that it sounds falsetto moreso than a clear whistle. But I'd also say the Eb at the start of that run and then the F-Eb-F riffs could be classified as whistles. An "airy" whistle can sound falsetto, and the term falsetto doesn't have a super solid definition anyway and is interpreted differently by vocal teachers from different technical practices. Some see falsetto as a separate register, while others see it as head voice with added air/breath. Regardless, Ariana masters those smooth transitions between her registers/vocal qualities and I appreciate it. Thanks for watching ☺️
@@HegeOfficial I agree with you! I know some people define falsetto by sound and others by the vocal technique used. I personally consider falsetto a register to make it easier to understand. Head voice in general, I would say is a bit lower (not all the time), thicker and more resonant. Whenever your head voice becomes really airy and loses most of its resonance, that's where I establish the distinction between head voice and falsetto. Producing whistle notes, though, is for sure a unique sensation. It feels more like a focused, high-pitched squeak with even less resonance than falsetto. Btw, I'm not coming after you with this hehe! I just enjoy discussing vocal techniques with other educated people. Thank you for your amazing work! 😃
@@TheMelodicSymphonies I see you and think that's a nice definition/distinction you have between head vs falsetto. Vocal technique is often about finding an explanation or a feeling that makes sense to you/the singer you're teaching. And I like talking about it too, so thank you ☺️. And yep, whistles are considered a separate register and requires an "imperfect" closing of the vocal cords, meaning you sing through the little "slit" at the back of the cords that's held open. It's technically called the flageolet register, but nobody knows what that means and everyone knows the term "whistle" so that's how we talk about it especially in pop music.
@@TheMelodicSymphonies and lol, squeak is a good word! I started working on my whistle register last year, and those first little squeaks before you learn to produce an actual sustained note and prettify that tone?? It humbles you 😂
❤ I absolutely watched this all the way thru to the end (I always do! Why wouldn’t I 😘?). I was unfamiliar with this song because for some reason I haven’t really listened much to Ariana Grande (😳) so I had no basis for comparison to the 10-year-old version and this one…but I’m so impressed, Hege, that you have the auditory memory to recall so clearly how she sounded that long ago compared to now. When you talk about how her voice has evolved, it makes me wonder if there is a certain age or number of years into a vocal career that singers tend to fully hit their stride and be at their peak. I know some singers with long careers as they age seem to lose some of that voice strength and quality and stamina, maybe due to the physical aging process or overuse? I loved your reference to Ariana’s “Glinda hair” because I 🩷 Glinda and The Wizard of Oz so much❣️ Speaking of hair, I always notice but may never have commented about how gorgeous YOUR hair is! Love the color and natural wave and shininess you have 🥰 I am not too big on the sound of excessive vocal runs, I prefer the straight unembellished Melodie’s more, but Ariana is so masterful with her runs that I CAN appreciate them, haha 🙂 Lastly, your reaction videos are always special because I love learning the technical analysis of what’s happening in the performance along with seeing and hearing your heartfelt emotional responses to the performance too. You are a treasure on RUclips, Hege❣️ ⭐️🪩 💎
Aaw thank you ❤️ I really appreciate that! And for upcoming videos your name will be in the end-screen ☺️. About my memory.. you shouldn't be impressed 😄, I have listened to this song the last few years too, so I know how the original recording sounds. But I do love to see the differences, cause she still sounds like herself but even better ☺️. Age does eventually play a part for singers, for sure, but there are singers who lose their vocal strengths earlier than expected due to various reasons like not practicing or health issues etc. or overuse like you said. And then there are some who keep going all their life - usually with an adjusted repertoire, maybe lower keys and so on. But they're able to keep working on their vocals and keep them healthy. I hope I can be an old lady with pipes ❤️ I can't wait to see Ariana as Glinda in Wicked. That's my favorite musical, and I think she'll do so well in that role. And THANK YOU so much for the hair compliment 🥰❤️. And for your kind words. They warm my heart, and I appreciate you so much.
❤I love this reaction and analysis. This was so sweet! I don’t think I was just you I could feel and see her emotion too. I’m glad she felt ready to perform this song. I noticed a lot of things I didn’t hear the first time thanks to you. Please do baby I love from London please. Thank you!
Thank you so much ❤️! I noticed her face more when I was editing this video, and I agree it's visible. I'm glad she did it too. And the strings on Mac's verse was such a beautiful touch. Thank you for the recommendation! I am planning to do all of them 🩵 I was thinking Tattooed Heart next, but I can do Baby I first.
As someone who loves Ariana very much, Taylor's talent comes from her writing skill. People don't always listen to music for the vocals. In this case, they listen to Taylor because of how good she writes her music and how they can relate to it. Both talented artists in their own right.
@@matthewgabrielleesguerra4598 her writing doesn’t stand out to me one bit compared to other artists and i’ve listened to all of her albums. Talking about “spelling is fun” gtfo idc if that was supposed to be a joke song. got people with only a fraction of her fanbase who can sing, dance, and write their own shit. everyone talking bout she has the best tour out right now. well yeah of course its gonna look good she’s rich and can afford it. give a smaller artist with more talent that kinda budget and they’ll also put on the best show you’ve seen. I’m really not trying to fully hate on the woman she’s improved a lot since she started and she earns her title after the label shit. its more of an example of how talent doesnt always mean topping the charts.
First of all, taylor is an amazing singer, she is NOT A VOCALIST, her comfortable area is writting, listen to folklore and evermore lyrics, Music is not all about vocals, is about emotion that passes too, taylor is amazing performer and she has an huge stage presence, by saying that, u clearly never trule heard her, just her famous songs
I plan to 🩵 Loving this production! And I was gonna do Tattooed Heart next, but it seems like Baby, I is what most people want so I'll do that first and then TH ☺️

Aw thank you so much ☺️❤️ English is my second language so that really means a lot. And you’ve got this, I’m sure! I was not ready 🩷 what a beautiful way to highlight his part and remember him.

Ariana and mac miller have one of the saddest, most beautiful yet so messy love stories. This song gets me every time 😩
