As a student living through the pandemic and having online classes, I feel this. Moving from your hometown to a one-person space with no friends and activities banned, this is healing. The only relationship I truly adore is with my boyfriend, but it's become unhealthy and I feel despair. But if I could love, without bounds, without judgements, myself and others, and the reality around us, that would be sublime. If I could let go of some childish fantasies of success, and look at the divinity of the now, things could change.
I have to start changing my life style. I am 28 going on 29 and I never fell in love, never a girlfriend or experience. I have been addicted to porn for over 16 years and feel I have wasted so much time. I struggle with self love, depression and meaning in life. I have filled my head with wellness videos on youtube when I am down, stopped going to college and live with my grandparents. I have zero motivation to move forward. But I still have hope that one day I will be able to help myself.

I have similar problems - depression and lack of self love. Through the practice of meditation and mindfulness, i was able to gain some insights into the causes of those sufferings. I hope you give these practices a try.
I am 30 and experiencing exactly the same Thing. I have Depression lack of Self Love and I never had a Girlfriend in my Life. I had never received Love from my Family as well. I am on NoPMO successfully on Day 107 and it seems like I have some sort of Midlife Crisis. I definetly have to grow and do what Thich Nhat Hanh has said here otherwise I will live a sad Life. Thay is such a great Motivator even after his Passing. Thank You Thay.

I am 27 years old, slept with 21 persons and this was the most lonely time in my life. I felt so little love... I changed my life, I found buddhism again after having it lost for 7 years, started meditating again and now live a voluntary celebate lifestyle. And I never felt less loneliness in my life. I got to know new persons, I do feel loved and accepted now. With no sex at all. Thay is sooo right about sex and love, I experienced it myself.

Yes, he is right, I feel it too. But don't be too hard on yourself. It is difficult. We're made with sex included, it's a drive. Societies which are intolerant of sex, especially for unmarried women, seem to do a lot of damage that way. Sex without love is such a bad idea, but even if you think you have love, relationships change and get awful. Flowers are for sex: it is nature. I don't know how sex fits in a good and happy life actually. I'm 65, and I have no idea.
I wish I had slept with 21 persons!! xD

I knew one guy who did not like to talk about love. He was uncomfortable. But he was very much into carnal desires. I just figured out he didn't value himself much so he doesn't value people either. You cannot give love if you have none to give

There are multiple simultaneous translator. Some of the other noises ln the beginning were from kids.
Except for these unavoidable noises, I think the audience was quite silently absorbed in his wonderful talk.

I really understand and agree with Thay about losing connection with sunshine, plants, animals, etc.!
😮I was agoraphobic for many years. Therefore cut off from the sky, as it is when you’re outdoors, from the wind, especially in fall, winter and spring when it’s too cold here to have windows open and I’m breathing heated air that comes through dirty air ducts!
So, being able now, to go outside and enjoy the light in the sky, breathe in the fresh cold fall air: happiness!!

Sorry the sunshine exists not for us and the axis of the universe doesn't run through my center. Life was an accident and people are the agents who discovered and exhibiting compassion. My thought on this is to find good people whom you can connect with and get rid of and forgive the bad people in your life
