BreZ Is My Favorite Looper Now
The first time I listened to BreZ in the beatbox world championship I remember I didn't even like him, his tracks were kind of my jam but his attitude...
Now after listening to this battle for what must be like the fifth time I can't contain the thought... damn, he may be my favourite looper as a whole, including personality/attitude. Have been listening to his tracks and battles for months without realizing he had really grown on me, and that NME vlog was great to see what a chill guy he really is. Just a random thought, don't mind me.

I got the same vibe after seeing a couple gbb battles - song started out great but then he kinda trashed the other guy or rapped something that didn't seem to add to his performance. But after binging a bunch more videos and seeing how much effort he puts in, and finding out they're all friends so of course hes gonna talk smack and commit to the 'battle' part of the game, it makes more sense. After rewatching the videos where his attitude seemed negative, I understand his perspective now lol any perceived negativity was only mild frustration, a result of competitive sportsmanship rooted in a love for the art.
They do this just for the show!!!! OMG so entertained 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I just found out about gbb and all of these artists and am hooked. The performance aspect of this style is incredible. Seeing those melodies be assembled directly from a person's voice brings a new level of authenticity to songs that sound like they were cooked up for months in extensive software suites. Although the hardware definitely makes the sound far removed from a 'natural, 100% skill-based' performance (a person with a mic and analog instruments for example - obviously not really possible with this genre), and you could say it just condenses that software production into a device that allows the same performers to play the same songs with a more flashy twist on stage, that flashy twist lifts the curtain and allows the audience to directly experience the artists' skill.
