For anyone who's trying to backport mods with master dependencies, if the dependency has an equivalent version in LE, you can change the master dependency to the LE mod and do automated cleanup: Get Wyre Bash and run it. Select your desired ESP and go to the masters field. If the masters field is too small, you can expand the window to see names of the masters. Right click the SSE master and select “Change to…” If that option is greyed out (which it likely is), right click the column header in the masters field and allow editing. Select your desired LE master (ie. USSEP -> USLEEP) Click the save button underneath the masters field. Open up TESV Edit and check for errors. Hopefully you have 0 errors and you're good to go. However, more likely, you'll have to resolve conflicts. I did this with a new SE tree mod and it had 400+ errors, 99% of them were XCWT - Water edits that did literally nothing and just had to be removed. However, there's a little unknown xEdit script called Easy ESP backport script that fixes any esp backport problems. My trees work perfectly in LE now, thx for this video in getting me started!

There are some good ships already but SE has more variations and that looks better considering ships from all over *Their known world do business there. "Ships and Boats of Tamriel" *Will be the mod, I was working on another of the larger towns when I ran across this tutorial.
I've been eyeing this one armor mod for a long time but there's no version of it in LE and I really wanted to use it for personal use but have zero backporting experience, luckily this video helped me. Very direct and detailed tutorial! Thanks a lot :D

@@alacashrisen Well, it became several, actually. The first I went for was Snow Dogs, as it's not in LE, or Oldrim, as some call it. Well it worked. Then I followed up with Fluffworks and Ryn's Western Watchtower (surprise!). Complete and total success. Next I plan on going after Skyland and JK's, as they, too, are somewhat lacking in Legendary. To be honest, I don't plan on doing much about mods requiring SKSE64 for the time being, as my schedule is somewhat tight as-is. Unfortunate, as there were some of those on a list I had, such as Read the Room, I think. Maybe some time in the future. I'll see how things pan out. Very concise. I did exactly as described and my Mod Foxchase Manor loads ok but doesn't show up in the game. When I try to open it in Creation Kit it gives an error that says the esp is a higher version than 'this EXE can load' It's my own mod from LE that I rebuilt for SE and want to back port to LE as it has far more in it now than the original. I can't figure out what the problem is. TES5EDIT doesn't find any errors and says it is form 43 after running the script.

However I have a doubt: what to do if or when the mod has as a hard requirement SKSE64 or some such? For instance: TEWOBA has CBPC - Physics with Collisions for SSE and VR among other requirements. Hello mate! Thank you for the compliment truly appreciate it. As far as i know when it comes to SKSE64 Its preyy much impossible to backport a mod if it has it a requirement, according to the blog i learned this method from "SKSE64 is a completely diffrent beast" that being said i have read about people being able to backport mods requiring it and the common pattern is that you need to know how to code in C++ in order to do it, and even than itd a taxing process. As for other requirements, as long as the mod you backporting requires another mod to work, you have to backport that mod as well, im not sure about CBPC - Physics eith collisions as i assume its an SKSE Plugin. However if the mod thats required is an ESP/ESL than just use my method to backport that mod as well and make sure its enabled through your mod manager. so i have a mod with 2 .esp files, i placed them at the data file then opened TES5Edit and only one of the files i can select and the other appears to greyed out (name scrached). is this normal ?
Your problem could be one of two things, Either one of the esp files is flagged as ESL which is an EZ fix, change the name of the ESL flagged pluging to (.ESP) instead of (.ESL) at the end. or one of them relies on another plugin that's not present or you don't have the/there is no LE equivalent for. in the case of the second problem you have to find the mod required by one of the esps and backport that one first. if neither of those solutions works then refer back to the original backporting tutorial here: dawns-beauty.tumblr.com/post/652629529895043072/a-dirty-guide-to-backporting-some-mods-so-as there may be something in there that could help u! good luck my friend and hopefully your able to fix it!
Depending on if there replacers or require something like OAR or DAR they, if replacers my tutorial (Should) work tho im not sure, as for DAR / OAR...Im afraid thats an issue
Follow the first example in the video, you have to use a script in Xedit to turn a plugin from 43 to 44 format, i dont have one atm because i dont use SSE but it is 100% possible, just not with the script in the vide and in the description

Unfortunately no. You cant backport a mod that requires SKSE at the moment. im not familiar with that error however i would recommend checking out the written in-depth tutorial in the pinned comment, as for activating the mod you can just use your preferred mod manager it should show up for you after instalation
What worked for me, but im not id recommend it, is Changing the .ESL to .ESP In the file name. Tho i would more recommend checking out the written tutorial in the pinned comment.

Same principle and as the other examples, just make sure you convert EVERY! esp in the archive, and than convert the meshes and textures, As for the FOmod its self it should work right outta the box

TES5EDIT doesn't find any errors and says it is form 43 after running the script.
It's OK I fixed it. The mod had a header version 1.71 I put it back to 1.70 using SEEdit and re-did the backport.

you can open an oldrim plugin in the creation kit (for special edition) and just save the plugin, it will convert the form to 44
@@PunkFrost the ck route only changes the header from 43 to 44 or vice versa. the tes5edit script will change all entries
i just don't know how important changing the forms are really. i and others have used the wrong forms (mistakenly lol) for ages with no issues

Scripts usually work out of the box, but they need the accompanying ESP to be backported

That would require the use of SKSE and will be extremely difficult if not impossible atm
Do you need all 3 tools to port spell mods or just cathedral?
if your mod contains an ESP/ESL/ESM then you need the rest, if not then yes just cathedral

Do you know how to backport mods that have a fomod options thing?
Same principle and as the other examples, just make sure you convert EVERY! esp in the archive, and than convert the meshes and textures, As for the FOmod its self it should work right outta the box
I can't backport some mods because i get too many errors on the esp files, i need help
Im not sure i can help you pin point the issue but Check out the written tutorial...maybe there will be something there that helps?
