I’m gonna go along for the ride with UFL right now, I think it’s a pretty rough start but with the developers listening to the community so closely hopefully it can become a great game to potentially rival EA

They even say that some clear bugs to ALL the Community, is an error from us

Have you not been on the reddit? The devs are complete hypocrites. I played the game for a week at launch and uninstalled when they nuked the progression.
Let's be real.The game is shit, player movement look like Woody from Toy Story. We still root for it cause EA has really failed to deliver(yet again) and all the support we show is copium for a better competitor in the market for EA to get their sh!t together.
It's not shit it's how real football matches are slow and steady it could be a bit faster tho. But dumb nerds like Fifa"s arcady brainrot gameplay.

Yeah this is my exact problem with the conversations surrounding this game. No one said it HAD to be better than FC right now and no one is blaming UFL for not being a finished product within it's first launch year, but man the part of the FC community that hates EA (which I'm included in) is so caught up in trying to hate on EA, that they'll just glaze this game just because FC25 is bad. But what they don't understand is that FC25 can be bad, which it is, but that doesn't automatically mean that UFL is better

Why is noone not talking about how the through balls need work? A simple tap of triangle or Y sends the ball flying.

this video highlights the majority of the issues I have with this game for sure. sick of people glazing just because it's not ea and refusing to openly critique the obvious grind vs money incentives.
These same people live through one game FIFA 17, they are all nostalgia based and EA have changed how the game is. It obviously needs work but the constant content and overall product is taken for granted. If EA made the best game ever these people would still say EA is awful.

The difference is, EA has had 30 years of experience and knowledge, meanwhile UFL is just in its baby shoes.
The fact that the gameplay from both of them is on par + UFL is willing to improve more than EA and the fact that this game is FREE instead of 60 dollars at release, makes it an easy choice to say which one’s better…….

The pro clubs server issues never fixed, ultimate team has become an absolute joke, career mode has been stale for a decade? This year's FIFA was the first in 21 years I didn't buy... It's shit.. and EA will not listen to you when you tell them it's shit if you keep buying their game.
UFL Is ok. But considering irs their first attempt and it's free and their actually listening and trying to improve it... That's already worth my time. Keep playing FIFA... They will keep releasing shit after shif until their bank balance runs low. So good luck with that.

I don’t think their gonna add event cards so that’s why they make you ply so many games, I think your supposed to be playing for players for months, not in 3 days the most event they will add is icons and heroes

I don't think that speed is a problem at all. In fact they trying to please these fifa 17 players that do 1-2 and lob passes to a speedster exposed big gameplay flaws. For me the main problem is UFL's lack of logic: is easier to do a pass to the other side to the field than a simple pass, you miss open goals and shorts from thight angles are rewarded, like you showed in the video.

Yep. Career modes on FIFA 2004 PS2 also way more depth than UFL or FC 25.

I agree that it has the best gameplay but I'm not sure you've thought about the reason. PES is relatively slower paced but the animations are still sharp and it still feels responsive. Consequently you can still put a quick move together, fast players can still have an impact, it comes down to your skill and / or tactics. FC's pace is down to the obligatory yearly '1000 new animations' guff they need to put in a trailer that makes everything feel sluggish as they each have to play out. It might looks slick in a slow motion replay but it makes the game feel much less responsive. UFL has decided to copy the FC style, unfortunately.

I understand what your saying here cos it made me compare the 2 games, ea fc the content is light years ahead but the gameplay is absolute dog shite the worst it’s ever been I hate every match I play but UFL the levelling up players and the gameplay is far more enjoyable and I’d rather this than promo after promo on fc 25 pay to win crap, I play UFL and enjoy every match but yes there is so much UFL need to upgrade and add but I prefer it.

FIFA fan all my life, played since inception 1993. Last few years have been an abomination, when playing just isn't fun. Played UFL for the first time and fell in love with it. It's couch football and doesn't give you anger issues. Looking forward to what UFL has to bring in 2025. Players need to stop comparing it to FIFA, since all FIFA does is rinse, repeat, and make you hate playing it.

Great watch. I think for now the biggest downside is that they are purely competing with ultimate team. Which is a shame coz I would have preferred if they came out of the gates with other modes and stuff for those of us who are not tryna just play these micro transactions laden ultimate team style games. Like they really should have launched with pro clubs competition.

They had the chance to really ignite some competition to take us back to the days of when we had peak PES and peak TIF pushing FIFA but alas they basically just want in on the ultimate team pie rather than genuinely making a good football experience challenger.

I dont understand where all the hate comes from. The game actually listens and adjusts the game according to what players post on their page. The game is balanced, I have lost to players with lower overall team ratings and beat players with overall team ratings. Gameplay is smoother in my opinion, never going back to EA. It’s more realistic and that’s why it seems like a slower game. And I’m into the realistic aspect of the games. The game just came out and is actively improving with the player’s input. I spend hours on the game and still love it. It won’t please everyone though, people will always find something to complain about but the worst thing I hear is when someone says “fair to play? More like pay to win!” If it was pay to win, I would’ve dropped $100 and decked out my team with the best of players and shat on everyone but the game won’t let you as that is where the RP comes in, you must have had played the game for a while before being able to buy a top tier player in the game. The game has thought about a lot of ways to be a great place for players and it is only the beginning.
I really don't get why this game just feels like they took an old FIFA from like 2012-2016 and reused old EA ideas or "quirks" that EA eventually changed because it sucked and everyone hated it. Some that are off the top of my head since I haven't played UFL in a week:
- Cutscenes... WHY are cutscenes like celebrations, red/yellow cards, corners, free kicks, etc. SO LONG and require BOTH players to skip it? That's literally something everyone hated in old fifas that EA eventually changed to where the person who's getting the ball after the cutscene is the one who decides to skip. This isn't fifa 15 where people need to watch 3 different replays of goals and not be able to skip. It also takes forever for the skip queue to log that I'm spamming X which means you always have to at least watch 2-3 seconds of a cutscene.
- Pauses: Pausing should only be allowed when the ball goes off the pitch, this isn't fifa 15 and I don't need someone spamming pausing when I'm in the box and the ball bounces and touches their player but I can still score
- Freekicks: It's literally just the old fifa freekick system that EA got rid of years ago, why are you reusing it. It wasn't good then, and it's not good now
- Penalties: Bro in my idk 20 games that I've played, I've gotten/conceded like 5 penalties and NO ONE has been able to score one. Not me or my opponents. If you watch NickRTFM's UFL videos you can see that even he can't score them. It's impossible. It's the old fifa system but like 10x worse because the ball does go where you put it, it can go anywhere within the range of the circle, which means just moving your keeper side to side is gonna automatically save it, if it even goes on target
I'm not saying I want it to be like FC25, but why use things that people hated before from your competitors? Either come up with something new, or use the same mechanics, not old outdated ones
I’m absolutely loving the game at, yes there are issues but I’ve adopted the play style and enjoying the game tbh, I’m sure it’ll be much much better soon………….

Been waiting for your review. Great vid as always, the game definitely has potential, it kinda reminds me of fifa back then, however they need to still polish the game and its mechanics and with the way they are always listening to their community and they aren't a yearly thing like fc 23, 24, 25 yadayada. In about a year or two we might just get a game that could rival EA fc
saving for a top player takes months of consistent playing, yet you can simply buy in-game currency to get the best players, which makes the game feel unbalanced.. in my opinion, microtransactions for players shouldn’t be a thing.. instead, there should be an open market where players can sell or loan out their players. imagine owning Ronaldo and being able to loan him out, you could be earning passive income WITHIN A GAME.. this kind of system would make the game more dynamic, rewarding, and fair for everyone🙂

What I hate is starting up the game and after 2 wins you play against somebody who's team is stacked and have 200 games played and you're at 3 with base team.
The team power/rank needs heavy balance too
football games are dead to me ever since they focussed on these ultimate team modes. I either wanna play as my favourite team or start with a very low skilled team and manage that to the title.

Personally I think it's a fun game but still full of bugs so yeah, I hope they fix it and more people might migrate from fifa and pes to this game, but honestly right now it seems to be almost niche, not many people take it seriously
Why do you want fast gameplay? I'll admit, Ufl is a little too slow for my liking but fifa/fc25 and all the fifas before it have been waaay to fast. Players were practically skating on ice, thats how unrealistic the gameplay felt. I understand most people don't want pure football simulation but with gameplay as fast as fifas you might as well go and play rocket league. (which a really fun game for me, not knocking it)
They just want reaction based gameplay not actual skill like one vs ones and actually using tactics, the best players today just are people who don't know football just exploit the mechanics in a game. The best players break the game to be good not play it.

The worst thing is... DDA. Its SICK how gooooood is KARAMOKO and how bad can be a 80+ striker. If you have nice 80+ team and still loosing matches, try to buy free agents with 50+ stats and you team will be prime Real Madrid again
They had it right in the pre release all manual defending. All they needed to do was work out the passes and response time. So it went from 4/5 to straight 1/5 right now. January update will literally make or break them. I already deleted the game after the last update.
Game was skill based and promising on release. Now it is riddled with AI defending and DDA. Good job Strikerz Inc your update gave us EAFC 25 with Aids
FIFA 14 also had many receiving issues. I play it till this day coz its the best football game acc to me but the beauty of it is the randomness of fifa 14 where one time the touch is perfect and u have a good goal scoring option but another time even the best winger CR7 fumbles his tough and have to hold on to the ball till ur mates arrive. So just 1 clip of Valbuena's genius tough doesn't explain shit
I play the game daily and i agree. However i can justify it being ultra-grindy unless you pay, which is that, of course, it's free. They need to make money somehow (licensing is expensive, as we know). But unlike FIFA, if you play the game AND buy credits, you can get whatever player you want, unlike FIFA where you can't get shit with FIFA points. Just packs.
Everything else i fully agree with though. There's so many times where i'm in a tight game against a sweat for example, and i'm trying to avoid giving chances away (especially corners, fuck those corners). And yet EVERY TIME I clear the ball, my defender (doesn't matter whether it's Araujo, Cubarsi or Hodza) pauses before clearing it, which annoys me because narrow clearances almost always go in the opp's favor (corner).
Attacking play is also not great. Even amazing players like Haaland take such shitty touches (like you pointed out in the beta) and it's also frustrating that speed bursts seem to slow you down (sometimes i hit R2 twice to get away from a defender that's on my back because i'm smart, but he catches me anyways). Tackles and skill dribbles are annoying as hell (skill dribbling, much like FIFA, makes you immune to tackles so every time i face someone with a high rated team, I just die inside)
Oh and of course, goalkeeper movement. Hate it with a burning passion still. That's another reason my heart sinks when i come up against an ultra-team. And the fact that it's full-range as opposed to 1-2 steps really frustrates me because it makes bus parking harder to punish.
Yeah but the problem is that it's way too skewed towards paying real money. 200m for $50 and I'm guaranteed Mbappe or Bellingham? That sounds worth it to me compared to playing 200 games for just one player, and that's why so many people are most likely opting for that. I agree, keep that in the game, but make it more expensive, however I think they know that and it's on purpose. They know people would rather spend a little bit to get a player guaranteed than to grind an insane amount

It doesn't take 1000 games to get 81 rated players because your team upgrades. By the time you'd played 1000 games, buying an 81 rated player would be pointless. If anything, I think the problem with the game will be that not that far down the road if people play consistently, everyone will have whole teams of 95 rated players and then where do they go? Also that would make it a nightmare for new players to start up.

I think UFL can dethrone EA SPORTS FC judging the current form of FC games from 24 and 25, which just keeps on going downhill.

It is just the first year, stick with them guys, they will deliver. If they truly stick to the non-pay to win philosophy, I could see them generating an amazing game, something we can actually enjoy and not point fingers at scripts. They could still generate a lot of revenue through other means, in-game ads, sponsorships, the current micro-transactions system. Lots of other ways as well. Don't root for their failure, instead stand behind them and support them because we gave EA 20+ years to get it right, yet they still got it wrong. So, give them half of that time and we will see a lot of progression.

Let’s be honest, if this game was even $10 nobody would talk about it. With all the problems FC has, it’s still a decent level of quality as always. Not $70 quality but still
I think if they want to compete with FIFA, theres one easy thing they can do better than EA. They could interact with the community often. One thing EA doesnt do enough is just take in feedback and talk with the community. EA seem to ignore its fanbase and if UFL wants to be better, do what EA isnt doing.

There is no meta, everyone has different players and uses different modules.
YOU CAN PLAY WITH YOUR FAVORITE PLAYERS AND BRING THEM TO A 91 OVERALL.
Would I like to use lautaro? Sure.
Am I happy to have bought Sebastiano Esposito and have brought him from 66 to 76? Hell yeah.
Sure the gameplay has some issues, but it’s the first time since the ps4 fifas that I have felt like if I’m stronger than my opponent I am in control and I can win the game, not that I’m winning 3-0 and my players then become retarded in the second half and I lose the match.
If you enjoyed the old fifas, you will get what we had before. And it can only get better.

All honesty gameplay is such a change from fc. The fact someone cant spend $100 to beat me is nice! Its made on unreal engine which from my understanding is very malleable.
I have faith in this if the devs are super responsive and listen to the community

can't believe the through ball still on full blast. and there's a lot of grind involved here so if there's no cross progression now, no point in waiting for PC version. the player models are wack, animations are weak.

It's might be slower but, it's not arcadey like fifa spaw skills spam shot, an the best thing I like no crazy updated football cards like the first ultimate teams on fifa best thing defo BTW I'm unreal at it only 10 games in
There are some stuff I liked even in the gameplay but to me the most off-putting aspect was scoring: it doesn't feel very rewarding. I don't know how to express that clearly but EAFC still feels more organic (and god knows I hate giving praises to that P.O.S.).
From my experience this more organic is "do some stupid green trivela or finesse" or "even more stupid bounce and goal". Like half of the goals are from stupid shit like bounces or "this stupid guy didn't react to input or decided to kick into the opponents feets". :D
Can somebody tell me what the big issue is with FC25? Ive been playing fifa since 13 and imo this FC is the best so far when it comes to realism. So far, all the people I've met who hate on it have been mainly because of a lack of skill. You need very precise aiming and power managing output to make your balls travel 99% of the time where you want them to go. And i get so tired of the usual casual player saying the game doesn't respond properly when i have little to no issue with it.
People hate FC25 (and FC24, and Fifa 23..) because of the tragedy that is ultimate team. What they dont realise imo is that career mode exists and is actually pretty good this year, meaning there is no reason to play that shitty cash cow game mode any more.
The point about getting all team of 80-rated players is so wrong mate. It’s not 550 millions, I’ve played for about 10 hours max in this game and get 3 players up to 81. I haven’t bought any of them it’s just upgrading system.
Youre right,gameplay is...rough,with fair words. But thinking that this is the first year and its "ok" is surprising me. Fifa is out foor decades and bs gameplay.
Give the devolepers time to twink and adjust. My guess is that the gameplay will be better in a couple of month.
But honestly Im really fearing we wont see the game continue as the "average fifa player" is not giving time to a competitor. They are used to be the whales for straight p2w and just admit to it, unfortunately.

I'm looking for a better game than FC, the speed of the strikers are so imaginary, and the defenders stop/stuck in front of the striker in dribbling.. Guys it doesn't make sense who has the ball is way faster the one chasing. Also defenders will start running to late to cover strikers, and there is a lot of stupid glitches that will make you lose or win the game, additionally I'm experiencing server issues from EA which disturb the game and decide the result ended as a defeat.
Infinitely more fun than FC. I might as well not even hold the controller playing FC.
People are never happy. EA is crap, Efootball too fast, UFL too slow lol
As soon as you said this game had its version of ultimate team, I stopped watching the video, and cancelled the installation. These football games know what we want, and if they are going to keep ignoring us then I for one will not play them

I still prefer efootball over FC and UFL. In my opinion, both(FC and UFL) are the same.
I dont like fast gameplay ty, even after i won 3 tournaments with FIFA before in my hometown, i do like more realistic stable mid speed gameplay
But the game doesn't reset so there planning to make you progress over several years
Unless you pay you won't progress. My very first match in the game with the starter team was against a team with 80+ average players. How is that fair to play? How to progress from there without paying?

Finally a fair and honest review. It's an ashame they ruined the game after a week. They made defending so assisted now amd shooting so poor while keepers op. Games way off where it needs to be. This should be what the beta build should of been not full release. Plus they barely make huge improvements passing for E.G has been unchanged for 9 months now.
These devs clearly need help from outside but they won't because the games a money grab they don't even have plans after the first 5 months.
Goals is genuinely more promising but doesn't get the time of day because 1 it's in pre alpha 2 they are going for a different art style
Definitely an issue that they will swing so far based on feedback. While you need to take feedback on board you also need to have your own vision as what the players demand is often not what is actually best for the game. They seem like they will just make massive changes based on whatever the player base demands, this is not good for the game's future.
i like that u still ahve to get reputation by playing, so ppl who just swipe their card for credits will still have to play the game to unlock those players. however the grind is way too long ngl
The passing system in this game is absolutely dumb. There is no logic at all. Sometimes the ball goes to the far player and other times to the player nearby. The lack of a proper manual system makes the game unplayable.
I really wish some of the FC creators, especially the ones that are the most outspoken about how crap EAFC has been for the last few games, would be more positive in there reviews of UFL. It's like someone stepped in and is actually trying to give us a game that fixes The vast majority of the problems everyone hates about FC and you guys immediately are like, it's mid.. It just came out ffs and the devs are actually engaged with the community. It will get better. And it's pretty good how it is at release. I actually like playing it a lot. Not gonna lie I think it was better at release before the few patches they've done so far but it's still, in my opinion, more rewarding, and more fun to play than FC.
I understand that people are going to have different opinions about video games. Especially a football game but I love how I've heard several of you guys start your videos saying something like "is it gonna challenge EA's hold on the market?? No". That's cap. l've been straight up addicted to fifa since pretty much release of FIFA 22. Like literally login every day, play at least a few matches, Check content, etc. every single day.. until the first day of the early release of UFL.. Haven't logged into fc once since. Which is crazy to me. So well, it may not be anywhere near perfect game, it's still good enough to stop a four year full on addiction cold turkey. There is some jank the game but at least the devs actually acknowledge and respond when things are brought up. And at least when some jank occurs it's not in a way that feels like it's intentionally trying to steer the outcome of the match like it most definitely is a lot of the time in FC.
