Its not really plot armor. It makes sense, the sht hes went through for him to beat Krauser in that form. Number one by this time hes already faced off against plenty of abomnations, and even in the SGI movies, Leon can off some seriously stylish combo sht on zombies, abd even a tyrant. Hes a skilled killer when he has to be. Numbing that down to plot armor, dosent really make much sense.
@@GCoffee2006 Yeah in the original, you would meet him again when going for Ada campaign and you’d have to take on him in a severe condition due to Leon already smoked him.
It seems the whole conception originally for parrying and crouching was based around this boss fight. I think they were trying to see how they could do this battle justice without QTEs and so that's where the idea to parry and crouch hatched.
This is like a shattered glass version of snake vs the boss and I mean that in a good way. Where as in MGS3 you don't want to fight her, here Krauser has killed Luis, betrayed you and constantly insults your progress; giving you plenty of reason to fight him. And both fights rely heavy on the player having learned the basics and advance knowledge of CQC to defeat their mentor. Bravo Capcom, bravo. 👏👏👏
The huge advantage we get from remake is that you can parry almost every attack and shooting while moving, really show how you can defeat him easier than the original
In the original and the context from darkness chronicles, Krauser changed sides because his arm was injured and he wouldn't be able to move it anymore and would get discharged from duty, and during Javier boss fight he got obsessed with BOW virus'. But here, it looks like something entirely different went on.
yeah he mentions the mission went tits up and him and his soldiers were made expandable. pretty good reason for a soldier to turn his back on the people that put him and his soldier in that position but like leon said, that doesnt give you the right to do wrong.
@@kay_keik7842 i think its a combination of both. At first Krauser may look just a power hungry brute but i think he is also jaded cause he lost his men. He says he does what he does for power but it could be that deep down he doesnt want another Operation Javier.
@@SIGNOR-G Makes sense tbh, the root motive is that he doesn't want Op Javier to happen again, but in his mind, during the Op (assuming the new canon of the Operation still involved BOWs) he probably came to the conclusion that if he and his men had the power of BOWs, that tragedy wouldn't have happened.
16:00 "You Used to Be a Good Guy" trophy... That is the dialogue that Leon said when checking on Krauser's dead body in RE4 Original !!! So happy to see that !!!

I actually like this fight between Leon and Krauser more than the original one, it actually gives you an intense fighting chance against a ex top las Plaga mutated soldier and it was more intense of you holding yourself off against him instead of some quick times events.
"What do you want?!" "A sample saddler developed that's all" "Leave ashley out of this" "You maybe able to prolong your life but it's not like you're gonna escape your inevitable death is it?"
man they definitely made krauser more better here than the original. 2 mutated arms?! and the boss fight is not a search for items but a one on one guerilla fight? WOW THAT IS AMAZING!!!
Hey, if you are confused with the back story between Leon and Krauser, there are videos explaining the Operation Javier, what happens between them, and what makes Krauser defect and work for Wesker in order to seeking *power*.
The Operation Javier referenced here seems different from the one in Darkside Chronicles tho, in here, Krauser was with a special operations team, not a duo with Leon and the dialogue and files make it feel like Leon may not even have been involved in it directly or at least wasn't working with Krauser for it. Could be a retcon
@@nagi7995 Leon was probably with them. Krauser here asked Leon if "he remembered the fight in the jungle" where they "barely made it out alive" IMO the fight and dialogue between them wouldn't have as much depth if Leon & Krauser hadn't fought together. Leon for the most part calls Krauser Major so they definitely served.
I wonder if the Remake will includes some DLC chapter of Operation Javier, to allows the people learn more about Krauser's past. Adding that in this DLC, Manuela Hidalgo could has a similar role like Ashley, like a companion that you must protect.

What I love most about Krauser boss fights (and Verdugo) is that they’re VERY fast-paced unlike everyone else. If you try and pace around and avoid them they’ll rush you down and kill you. The only way to beat them is to go balls-to-the-wall aggressive and out-DPS them. It’s such a refreshing change of pace
Kruasers has drastically changed this time both his arms transformed the original his left arm transformed that’s a interesting change and they even extended it which I loved
Although Krauser kills Luis, the fact that he leaves, allowing Leon to properly say goodbye to him with death, instead of finishing him off, does him credit. Well, yes, everyone has already said about Virgil's vibes and his obsession with power because of the tragedy, but I will add that the influence of Metal Gear and Lady Butterfly from Sekiro is also felt here. I think Krauser deserves place in the club of tough blade-loving antagonists.
Watch the way Leon's lips tremble slightly after stabbing Krauser. It's such an incredibly subtle bit of body language showing how emotionally shaken he is by what he just did.
6:58 That line was my favorite. In boxing practice I thought of that line when my sparring partner started to time me and I changed my pace to throw him off
How the fuck are people haging on the voice for krauser. He does a fantastic job. When he talks about power he almost sounds like vergil, thats a huge plus for me.
I love that they improved some history details of certain characters. In the end, Krauser always has some affection for Leon, not something that we see in the original re4.
I love how krauser during the end of the fight basically confessed that he expected this much power from leon as he saw this potential from him the most from rest of the crew
I really like how they gave Krauser internal conflict. Part of him regrets his decision to align with bioterrorism. He saw Leon as the better version of himself when he said "Show me what you've got that I don't." Rather than saying he plans to kill Leon outright. When he lost and he saw he did after all, make the wrong decision, he humbly accepted his defeat and death, stating he was proud of Leon and the fact he played a role in Leon's growth.
I really love how they expanded the fight and scenes with Krauser more in the remake than in the original because in the original you just kill him and just go meanwhile they put the small details of Krauser calling Leon rookie the whole time but calling him Leon at the end as well as Leon finishing Krauser off with the knife. They really did my boy some justice here.
I think that moment of Leon's pause and looking back after Krauser dies is very profound and shows a very sensitive realism. Respect to the RE4R writers! (Just wish the "Need for Speed" link box didn't cover Leon's face!)
Got chills when Krauser said “I trained you well, Leon” showing that even though Krauser turned to the cult and turned his back to his morals and beliefs he still felt respect for Leon and right before he died he addressed him by his name, not by “rookie” as Leon had bested him.
Thats just how world works. One day friends, second day enemies. Even when a villain Krauser followed a kind of an honor code when dueling Leon and i felt like it was a really fleshed out boss fight.
17:06 the first time where he calls him leon rather than rookie.. the moment he got defeated by him, in the end leon gained his respect and he was proud
Yes it is haunting. Truth is they don't change, none of the characters in RE ever do and when they do,they usually die. That's realistic part, some people are far too gone.
Leon and Krauser's relationship and battle gives me big Yusuke and Toguro vibes. Toguro turned "bad" for losing all his students, Krauser turned bad for losing his soldiers. Toguro became a demon in order to avoid being vulnerable anymore and gain power, Krauser took las plagas for the same thing. Both of them where prepared to live the rest of their lifes as monsters and bringing destruction to humans (Krauser by los illuminados's plans and Toguro by Sakio's plan), and both of them where quite happy to being proven wrong once their pupil shows up, testing them for making them stronger and complimenting them after being defeated.
My favorite Resident Evil boss ever since I first played and beat the original RE4 back in December 2011 when I was 8 years old turning 9. So awesome to see it just like how I hoped and dreamed and more!!

Its not really plot armor. It makes sense, the sht hes went through for him to beat Krauser in that form. Hes a skilled killer when he has to be. Numbing that down to plot armor, dosent really make much sense.
RIP for those who all said that in the "leaks" Krauser is removed from the game.

This is made even better without those bombs back in the original version. The time limits are only restricting a lot from this iconic boss battle.

The made the knife fight an actual boss fight so that’s a huge plus for me.
Shouldn’t Ada kill Krauser
@@GCoffee2006 Yeah in the original, you would meet him again when going for Ada campaign and you’d have to take on him in a severe condition due to Leon already smoked him.
I just got so much closure when Leon finished Krauser off with honor. Heartbreaking, yet needed to be done.
It seems the whole conception originally for parrying and crouching was based around this boss fight. I think they were trying to see how they could do this battle justice without QTEs and so that's where the idea to parry and crouch hatched.
It's literally that. The parry system was developed around the fight with Krauser until they realized it could work in any combat scenario.
@@LucDutra92 Yeah, that's great. Another great innovation in a great remake!

Where as in MGS3 you don't want to fight her, here Krauser has killed Luis, betrayed you and constantly insults your progress; giving you plenty of reason to fight him. In the original and the context from darkness chronicles, Krauser changed sides because his arm was injured and he wouldn't be able to move it anymore and would get discharged from duty, and during Javier boss fight he got obsessed with BOW virus'.
But here, it looks like something entirely different went on.
Yeah some sort of betrayal which seems to happen much worse than the original Operation Javier
He still have some scars on his arm
yeah he mentions the mission went tits up and him and his soldiers were made expandable. pretty good reason for a soldier to turn his back on the people that put him and his soldier in that position but like leon said, that doesnt give you the right to do wrong.

@@MASTEROFEVIL true.
The only way to beat them is to go balls-to-the-wall aggressive and out-DPS them. It’s such a refreshing change of pace

I love how they incorporated operation Javier in this remake. That little side mission in darkside chronicles brought some real insight into Krauser
The masterpiece of this boss fight
Krauser felt like a badass in the original and now even better in the remake.
That was REALLY well done I’m impressed
Watch the way Leon's lips tremble slightly after stabbing Krauser. It's such an incredibly subtle bit of body language showing how emotionally shaken he is by what he just did.
6:58 That line was my favorite. In boxing practice I thought of that line when my sparring partner started to time me and I changed my pace to throw him off
One of the best remakes I have ever seen
I like how much of an 80's movie villain they made Krauser here. Dude sounds like the sensei at Cobra Kai.
I love the fact he finishes him off with the classic knife of the original version and gets it after it, as if was a last gift from his master.
Krauser is badass as ever
How the fuck are people haging on the voice for krauser. He does a fantastic job. When he talks about power he almost sounds like vergil, thats a huge plus for me.

That classical Krauser theme gives me goosebumps

One of the greatest boss battle of all time and the greatest one in resident evil history what an intense battle
I love how krauser during the end of the fight basically confessed that he expected this much power from leon as he saw this potential from him the most from rest of the crew
Somehow the remake version did Krauser's characterization better; I love it!
This Krauser fight seems to have more emotion than in the original Resident Evil 4.
Im lowkey kinda sad because we didnt get to hear the classic "goooood leon" whenever krauser got hit
15:30
Krauser:
Strenght is everything, the weak can't protect nothing
Meanwhile Vergil: Yes finally someone who gets it
One aspect of Krauser that goes unnoticed is that he can be seen as a dark reflection of Chris Redfield.
The last Krauser fight was so damn good
The og voice actor was better but I take it.
The fight was better of course.
I think that moment of Leon's pause and looking back after Krauser dies is very profound and shows a very sensitive realism. Respect to the RE4R writers! (Just wish the "Need for Speed" link box didn't cover Leon's face!)
Witness the power best quote never get old
Got chills when Krauser said “I trained you well, Leon” showing that even though Krauser turned to the cult and turned his back to his morals and beliefs he still felt respect for Leon and right before he died he addressed him by his name, not by “rookie” as Leon had bested him.
Thank you, Major
The music before and as Leon sends off his Major to the next life...my god. Goosebumps.
I’ve been so focused with this fight in my two play throughs I never really listened to the conversation going on, love it!

Yes it is haunting. Truth is they don't change, none of the characters in RE ever do and when they do,they usually die.
That's realistic part, some people are far too gone.

bruh i was really waiting for that "prepare for your death, leon" line from krauser 😭
