Of Eric Prince and conservancy militias😂😂 Great discussion with a touch of humour.
Very informative. I never knew about the Gilgil 10 acre communities.🙂
Me neither, aside from the recent taxi driver tale. I guess we learn something every single day.
This is a good one Pius, unfortunately our young people are hooked to tiktok and instagram algorithms, that will always suppress informative content
Thanks Albert. Hehe, that's the sad truth. Anyway, the journey of a thousand miles...I just have to beat the goal-gradient effect hehe
It all makes sense now.... i remember years ago when Prince Harry stayed at Lewa conservancy until he was bursted by "paparazzi" - the connections are there. I would love to believe that some of these "conservation pioneers" really love animals and intend to protect them but we all know there is always more to the story. History has taught us that foreignors' intentions are not always pure but neither are our politicians'.
As for the charlatan😄😁It was funny but sad at the same time. I mean why do we need to bring in a charlatan and waste all that money providing for him special treatment when we already have enough charlatans of our own.
Reparation is a nice idea but it would never help us because we are too corrupt to handle money matters - be it financial aid, public funds, reparation. Overall, great discussion; very informational.
Many Premiers and government leaders too have frequented the place. I guess it's a place dear to their hearts, foreign policy etc. Or maybe it just reflects the fact that most of the settlers who came to Kenya after the collapse of IBEACO were from the aristocracy class back home. Barons and Lords etc. And we know these connections sometimes last centuries. Heard somewhere that Lord Errol's family (White Mischief) have been walking behind the royals during coronations since the 1300s. So i guess 124 years after the establishment ofthe Kenya colony is rather short in comparison...
Yeah, the charlatans serve a role and purpose in society unfortunately. And as long as many people still believe in them, they continue to have an outsized influence, even to the levels of Head of State across Africa and the world.
Many believe so regarding reparations unfortunately. Most of the cash, if paid, would disappear into the ether, and genuine recipients would see jack of it.
"They never left.....". They never really left whether they are physically in Kenya or not. It reminds me of a Swahili setbook in High school many years ago by the name "Mashetani" by Ebrahim Hussein.
Mashetani was before my time, late 90s i think. Heard about it though, and maybe read it a little bit, a term before we started our official setbooks, though i vaguely remember it.
I noticed the posters on your wall and laughed so hard( shaking my head) Pan African hall of fame poster without HRH Haile Selassie is a joke please do refere to history books and correct it.
Point taken hehe. It's just a poster though bro. Haile Selassie's legacy remains intact regardless.
why avoid the Arab slavery that was in business way before British colonialism?
We covered whatever we could in the short time we had. In doing such shows as a beginner, u can't cover all possible topics and angles within a given thematic area. But maybe a thought for next time.
