Genghis Khan started modernity by creating the first universal state and finishing the nomadic-settled people dialectic (being the last great nomadic empire, succeeded by the great civilizations, the gunpowder empires: Ottoman Empire, Safavid Empire, Mughals; and China). The communists completed this by bringing almost all of what was once the Great Mongol Empire fully into modernity.

@@akabn In the 1950s, Mongolia did create songs about friendship with China, called "Mongolia-China Friendship". There is also a song called "Road of Friendship" about friendship with Soviet Union and China. I can only find the recordings of these two songs, but I have no idea where to find lyrics. I think they may have more songs of similar themes but finding materials of this period seems impossible now
@@Pionir1917 I'm pretty sure there's sadly no lyrics version of it or does it. Those are probably only used for marching but if there is a lyrics version of it, that'd good.
As Mongolian millenial I feel bad for not seeing those days.. we learnt bath and alphabets + got literali city in few decades
Yep the rate of development under communism in Mongolia was rapid with many cities popping up all around Mongolia like Mandalgovi and Choibalsan
Same for Kazakhstan. We used to be nomadic

What they have now is presumable more autonomous and free sorta in the light of China. They haven’t degenerated in western capitalism at all.
