Year recorded: 1981
Year composed: 1921
Source: Vinyl Record "Монголын Ардын Армийн Дуу Бужгийн Чуулга"
Picture: Various flags and banners being flown on the 10th anniversary of the Mongolian Revolution, 1931. The Mongolian language was officially written with a Latin alphabet from 1930 to 1941.
There’s something unique with all these Asian communist songs, it has everything a communist song would have plus alongside their traditional instruments. And its create this kind of new and old vibe mash together
Except North Korean ones. They're very much like any other communist song, but more grandiose.
The Internationale in Azerbaijani is made with traditional instruments too
socialist realism is a wonderful thing (one of the key principles is using folk music, music of the people)
This is the song with the best climax in history, just that simple, it creates so much hype towards it and oh boy does it deliver
Mmmm, close but id have to say echelons song is a little better.
Монголчуудын цаг ирэх болно 🙏🙏🙏🇲🇳🇲🇳🇲🇳👏👏👏🫡🫡🫡

I wish I knew more about Communist Mongolia's history.

We where once the huns and the gokhturks and niruns then finally mongols. since chingis khaan died we split and split making us weak and qing dynesty took over one by one 220 years later imperial russia helped we took help from the Bolsheviks to us declare our independence then our communists took over.
And communism has never been practised we were all sociolist
(Fixed version)
@Il mitico forgiatore Clown guess judging by his pfp & name
@Il mitico forgiatore Clown democrat is shit, everything is all for money and corrupt as hell, we are trying to fix corruption but no success so far. no one thinks about the country, only looking for money. it's just like other post-socialist countries, corrupt, economical weakness, etc. only Russia seems escaped that since it has found a good president. for imperial, there is no imperial bloodline left after revolution, you know what happens in revolution, so its impossible, and for communism even if we want to convert to back first, there is no idealism left like communist value, second, we would be sanctioned and bankrupted and would be swallowed by either China or Russia in no time, the only choice left is democratic and we just have no choice to try to survive. Personally, I would like to kill all parliament members and support new young blood who are nationalistic. Parliament and parties are no different from thieves like any democratic country.
The beginning of the song is full of Soviet style...
Of course mongolia was in communist

Plenty in Mongolian, but nobody takes the time to translate. I have a book about the history of Mongolian borders.
And no one cares about modern Mongolia, even though they have a good center-left government as far as I know and a very safe democracy

This song is interesting. Years ago I learned this song in a music class in primary school, and this song was adapted into a children's song with Chinese lyrics. Its title was《草原就是我的家》(Grassland is my home). This song's melody is well known in China. I always thought it was a folk song from Inner Mongolia, but not until today that I know it actually is a revolutionary song from Outer Mongolia about independence from China. It really surprised me. 😯
@Bryan Ganzo The Kuomintang had invaded and occupied Outer Mongolia (today’s country of Mongolia) and were driven out by Mongolian Revolutionaries.
@Bryan Ganzo I call it “outer” Mongolia only because the region known as Inner Mongolia (which is also sino-centric) is still a part of China. Also, the Kuomintang is NOW more on Taiwan than mainland China. Prior to the Chinese Civil War, the Kuomintang and their Republic of China ruled over what is now the PRC (excluding Tibet). Finally, a year and a half of occupation is still occupation. The ROC claimed Mongolia as part of China, and the Mongols didn’t want that, hence the revolutionaries.
actually we declared independence from manchu people not from china. China tried to invade our country and failed. This is why we hates china. You are talk like we were your colony which wasnt. and also battle of manchuria we helped your country with ussr but your talks like only ussr did it.also battle okf baitag bogd chinese tried to invade again not declaring war and lost agains 10 border troops.again battle of 5way you guys lost the battle but written like both side signed peace note
@Soldat a/s no2 they ruled over china. They have different languages and culture which is making different people
@Soldat a/s deosnt matter you are still tries to occupy our country by politically

You're right.
Awful translation
Are you sure this wasn't recorded in the 1940's? That plucked instrument from 00:38 can also be heard in the 1945 Mongolian movie "Tsogt Taij" (Prince Tsogt). A Mongolian newsreel of the 1946 Naadam wrestling festival also has this plucked instrument sound as well as that flute from 1:43. The photo fits the music well. In the 1940's Cyrillic still wasn't fully adopted yet. I saw an old photo of Marshal Choibalsan giving a speech to a session of the Mongolian parliament or something and there were all these drapes with vertical Mongolian script. Quite a sight really.
I don’t see how a recording of this high quality could be from the 1940s. I have old Mongolian records from the 1940s and the audio quality is pretty poor. Regardless, the record sleeve for this one says 1981, so I’m inclined to believe it.
@@GETchan Right. I thought it was a bit high quality too. Recorded in 1981 but influenced by the style of that troupe or band of the 1940's.
It was composed in 1931.
Bro how tf do you recognize something like *THAT* and pin it down to a specific decade?! That’s freaking impressive!
musical instruments dont go extinct after one playing
This song is absolutely fire 🔥🔥
The PLA Band also played this song in the opening ceremony of Beijing Asian Games in 1990, with other songs of Chinese minorities.
They played an Outer Mongolian song about independence from China to represent Inner Mongolia? That doesn’t make much sense. I assume they played an instrumental, but that’s still odd.
@GETchan It seems that an Inner Mongolian song shares the same melody with this one.
@GETchan A short article says that this song was imported from Outer Mongolia to Inner Mongolia, and was included in the junior high school music textbook at that time.

Just realized that there is a Chinese lyrics to the song (labeled as a “Mongol folk song), but with only two stanzas. A rough literal translation of the Chinese version is:
1. Our red flag is the war flag
Which we raise and destroy our enemies;
They will be mercilessly eliminated,
O see the crimson flag in our hands.
2. Our red flag is the war flag
Under which we unite as one;
The red flag of our commander
whom we will follow forever.
@Ilovelanguages This Chinese version is still called "The Red Banner's Hymn." (红旗歌)

Mongolians fought the Revolution to become independent from China. The Bogd Khan and others declared independence from China in 1911. So the song celebrating the 1921 Revolution, which again fought off General Hsu and Chinese occupation, has heavily imposed Soviet ideology about the enemy being the West. Yet Mongolia was never a Western Colony, nor unlike Beijing, did any Western powers every occupy Mongolia. Mongolians were forced to go lockstep with the USSR.
Every communist country had. Russians wanted to control it all. Despising imperialism and blaming the west for it, yet practicing it at the same time.
Forced by who?

The soviets feared genghis khan. Restricting his name from being said and making Khentii off limits. Saying his name alone would ignite mongol nationalism. They were right to be afraid.

@GETchan Hello . Thanks for your video, its good product. But there is something translation problem. I don't understand why this english translation is very poor. I wants you remove the "looting enemies" meaning. Because of there is no that meaning. And it sounds very weird and irritating. Already many guys think badly. Please fix this lyrics
The full translation of the line is "Let's destroy the deceiving and looting enemies in cheer." That is to say, the enemies are deceivers and looters and must be defeated. I honestly have no clue how people are confusing that with "let's loot the enemies", it's the complete opposite of what is written.
