Today 60% of people are obese with 'not a care' in the world about it. Keep eating excessive carbs, sugared foods, and all the rest of the ultra-processed foods which are nothing more than trash!

I saw Grace in 1980 at a club in New York called 12West. It was a huge gay after-hours club, an old warehouse and that night it was packed. at 2AM, a pin spot focused on the center of the crowd, and her arm came up, with a long sleeve glove holding a cig holder. The crowd went nuts. She then sang a few songs, and for her finale , she sang it against the back wall, which was like a HUGE garage door, which opened to live New York City traffic in the background . She sang "Pull Up to the Bumper" . She tore the crowd apart.

I want to be this cool at 75 years old.
My birthday is next Sunday. Trust me, doll, standing up for 10 minutes is cool at this age. All the guys I danced with at Studio and Saint back in those glory-days are gone. I am the last one still standing. (It's spooky guys. I never gave this possible occurrence a moment's notice. It's just not something one thinks about. ALL gone, all GONE.) Grace got me beat by a mile. Thank you dear, thanks for the memories.

@@pinlight97 When I was dancing to Grace Jones live, skanky was good. It's still good in my mind. We used to love the great Roy Thode who always did sleeze set about 5am. A lot of down freaks would arrive at the clubs just in time for sleeze. The really skanky boys were the guys who had been in the Meat Rack for 3 hours. Boy did they smell ripe. It was all pure male. Sweating and rubbing up against other boys drenched in sweat because it was so crowded. I always went to the hot end of the room where it literally the warmest area, where the truly hot guys stayed with a group hit of ketomine,which was like mellow poppers

I was a dj in 1979 in Manchester and a Granada TV producer named David Liddiman brought Grace to the club.....she was really fab....she left the club at about 4am....two hours after we closed...Great memories

I had about 7 hoops, different sizes. I have always thought of the Hoola Hoop as the bellwether of boomer culture. Here was this magnificent plastic thing of no practical purpose, on Everybody's list of "must have!" Must have another one after that! Was that the same night I was arriving as she was finishing? She brought the crowd into such a frenzy that the paddy wagons from the NYPD backed up to all the garage doors, filling them with most of the patrons!!! NYC madness at it's best!
I was there, it was so on! They passing out Free South Africa Andy Warhol Life Size posters. Those were the days. Club stayed open all night. Got there at 10 PN & left at 10 :30 AM next! Never forget ❤ I love NY
The Garage was a New York City gay disco. Flamingo and 12West were kinda white, and Paradise Garage was kinda not white. Saw Sylvester there, as well as Grace Jones in a hoodie bathrobe. For a white thing born with African drum beats in my soul, I was surprised that the Paradise patrons were sorta not-very-good dancers. White boys dropped the same drugs as the DJ so we would all be on the same beat. When it was cookin' the room was shaking and the boys were crazy high. Paradise had girls with perfume on, which was a wet blanket for hard core fags. I liked when everybody was sweating like greased pigs, and smelling like em too. And we would kinda run up against the nasty pig next to us, or behind us. It was orgiastic and butch. Females with perfume were not appreciated. Sweaty male arm pits were intoxicating. Anyway, Miss Grace did some nights there, for her crowd, but was crazy wild at Studio, where so many influential folks went to cruise and have sex up in the balcony. Halston was there every night, and Calvin hung with Steve Rubell, owner of 54, who gave out samples of the best dope in NYC to his favorites, whom he ushered to the private VIP basement for suckin & fuckin. Grace was on fire in that ambience. She could out diva Miss Ross and Bianca Jagger anytime. How you gonna compete with hur? Don't even try. She didn't try, she just was. And was she adored.
