  • The Engines We Run In Our Wingless Sprints
after multiple meassages about the holden v6 engines we run in our wingless sprint cars here in australia i thought id better make a video explaining what we do tho make them work in a sprintcar chassis
there basically a stock holden commodore vn vp or vr v6 also known as a buick v6 in the usa
that we modify to run on methanol and that's about it cheap and reliable

Nice one Steve. As ive mentioned before im building a car and getting all the gear. An interesting video might be the actual cost of setting up a team and then the cost to run the car at an event ... I am finding out that if you look second hand you can get some good gear cheap. But if i bought brand new it would get pricy quickly. Jeff

Hey Steve,Great video. Can you do a video for people who want to get into wingless racing. What you'll need. And wht to expect. That'd be awesome.

Just out of interest how much did it cost for the engine?
Also if you are rebuilding from a stock engine to race spec what goodies go into it? Cheers

Yeah was just an engine built from std we can’t do much to them just basic rebuild balance and bump compression up a bit rules state 9.5 to 1 max this ones about 9.4ish otherwise all standard replacement parts motor cost from memory about $3900 was 18months
ago so may have changed since then

Have you ever raced smaller tracks such as Nyora or Drouin?
