good video I am on the fence on whether I should buy the adapter. I really want to know the quality. I have use many other lenses and and one adapter for binoculars and the image quality is usually not as good as just using the built in lens. I have the Canon EF lenses 3.5-5.6. I also have the Canon A1 or L1 old video camera V-Mount lenses if I could find a ring adapter. I currently have the Smartrig case
Just saw this vid! What's a good lens to use for starters for at least some good bokeh? I din't know much about lenses in general... This week I decided to make thje jump and start making YT shorts with my iphoneX.
Nice review. Great kit. But... does the beastgrip work with Huawei P30 Pro... you mention Canon lenses, what about other lenses? How does the focus device work with this kit?
It does look really versatile and fun to mess around with! Is it some type of plastic? In that case it seems steep price wise. I could see something anodised aluminum worth the $170, but plastic... more like $70.
Nice one Dave. I'm late to the party but am enjoying the Beastgrip DOF Adapter. It's a super fun creative tool. I certainly don't use it for everything all the time, but I like it. Great video.
Thanks for sharing about the need to download the software for reversing image. I need the cage, don't need the adapter it won't work with sling studio.
LOL I have a cheap HTC, I just wish I could get 1080 XD This grip looks super cool. Loved the editing in this review. I laughed at the Pokemon reference.
Thanks you bro I watched a dudes yt channel multiple review videos but her never showed the videos shot with the beast so it really wasn’t a review like yours. You got a like from me btw🙏👌.
What about equally capable cameras on other brand phones? Several times, you refer to "your phone", but without specifying an Apple iPhone. (Your background music needs adjustment-- the "beat" sound overwhelmed your voice at many points. Your narrative is good enough to hold attention completely, no background beat is required.)
This is amazing. Does this mean that I can just get an iphone and beastgrip, and get ANY lense? Any cannon lense, or Moment lense, or any iphone lense, and this beastgrip dof adapter will somehow work with all types of lenses? I really need to know this! Thank you!
This is a bit cool. But for all the outlay, the hastle of setting it all up, the BULK of the phone with all the contraptions fitted then the hastle of taking it all to bits again... wouldn't it be better to just buy a REAL Camera like a Lumix G90 or 85 that will give true cinematic results?
@@demasistudios yea these devices do shoot 4k but the quality of pixels are abismal and if anyones used a proper camera @1080p and then compared to a phone recording @4k it probably looks a lot better on the camera
Thats a lot of money for a piece of plastic that can just snap with all those things mounted on it. also.. looks like you could 3D print the whole thing for the price of a meal.
Why would you waste a lens capabilities on the tiny sensor inside a smartphone, while still carrying this mirrorless sized (and priced) contraption? You are also going full manual, losing OIS, losing autofocus, and low light capabilities. Only compatible with expensive full frame lenses. This thing is an expensive toy, showing off a cool technical concept, but has extremely little practical value.
LOL 139$ for piece of plastic. BEASTgrip think customers are stupid ?? On Aliexpress you can find same thing for like 20$-30$ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 oh and beastgrip is not well built and easy to break (info from my friend using it ). For 139$ beastgrip should make full aluminum body !!
Need this for my "S21 Galaxy Ultra" 🔥
Photograph, edit, upload.. 👀. 👏
What kind of gimbal do you recommend to use with this? Also. Do all lenses work? I have a sony camera so can i just take a lense from there?

Hey man you crushed that review. Thanks for the info, you hit all the points I wanted to know.

It’s plastic
Yeah... The plastic threw me off.. especially with heavy lens, its scares me
Sadly the build quality of the rig is mediocre. I wish it was made out of aluminum. The screws are breakable.
Can I use any dof adapter on beastgrip?
I see you guys using a 70-200mm L in your B-roll. That lens has zero manual aperture control. What is the experience like?
Can i use Meike 85mm
F1.8 large aperture full frame auto focus telephoto lens for beastgrip pro dof adapter
if u guys dont wana spend alot try the Zeti Rig $20 less weight it's worth it n I'm using the dof adapter , 54 inch tripod

awesome dude! ya i posted this video forever ago! lol. but its still relevant!
Thanks for sharing about the need to download the software for reversing image. I need the cage, don't need the adapter it won't work with sling studio.
That's a cool rig. You really explain it very well... Nice job. Thanks!
Very cool! Thank you for sharing! Is there a crop factor with that lens adaptor?
Nope! It’ll function like it’s full frame!
I have both DSLR and Beastgrip Pro. Obviously I use my DSLR more but occasionally I do use the Beastgrip for time lapses and other quick things
Same here! Even without the lens attachments it really makes the iPhone feel more like a proper camera
Great video! By any chance, would you know if focus peaking is working with this system and an app like Filmic pro. Thank you so much.
Will DJI gimbal work with iphone?
Which is better? Canon t3i or the iPhone with the beast grip and a canon lens?
T3i
You made it very clear! I’m actually up for this gear now. Thanks!
HUGE Thank you for this video!!
Which lenses are compactable for focus pulling.
LOL I have a cheap HTC, I just wish I could get 1080 XD
This grip looks super cool. Loved the editing in this review. I laughed at the Pokemon reference.
Haha! Glad you enjoyed it! All phones can work :) just need good lighting
hi do you know the out side diameter of the DOF adapter at its widest point ?? thanks my friend.
So live streaming not possible with with canon lenses?
it works on iphone 7?
DId you shoot this video with an iPhone?
I want to know if this adapter can be attached to a samsung j6 13Mp?
3:53 what is the name of that wheel your using for the Manuel focusing? Seems a lot better than holding the lens and focusing with your thumb.
That is called a Follow focus.
You can’t focus with your thumb, focus has to be pulled manually since the focus of the iPhone will be to the screen inside the adaptor.
What should my focus settings be on filmic pro when I am using a DOF adapter?
Finally someone with 4K
.
Glad to hear you like that! ha
Would you know where I can get a Dog adapter
What lenses are you using?
They are Contax Zeiss glass! From the 80’s!!
This is an awesome episode. That looks like a fun rig to run around with. I only wish I could use that with my Smooth q combo.
I think it would work with a lot of those smaller handheld gimbals for sure.
Thanks bro, 👍
Can I use It with iPhone X?
Yup! It’ll totally work with that. I use it myself with my iPhone X
Where can it be purchased at???
Would love to see this with an iPhone se
Thank you bro

no just canon EF mount manual focus lenses. There are many 3rd party lens manufacturers that use this mount as well as Canon obviously
What mic is that?
I wanna see this setup vs an Arri Alexa
What about Nikkor lenses?!
Will the Iphone 12 Pro Max work with this?
Yes it's a good idea but I've my panasonic g7 without lenses for 350€ (yes I'm french) but with micro 4/3 sensor better than the sensor of my phone !
Of course! I do think there are people out there who will only use there phone, and that’s where the beast grip really adds a lot.
Kinotika yes it's clear there is a choice to do and a smartphone is easier to use than my g7... some person can have other opignon😁
just need the adaptor
I bought it and a decent lense but never could get a good picture.
DOF adapter mainly used for filming.
@@FAT8893 yes. The film quality never looked good. 1

it is not available in India 🙁🙁
Interesting
interesting!
Your phones battery life is a major limiting factor here. Nice for a few short shots but it won't be an practical all day shooter.
with my 3d printer I can build this at home hehehe
What a beautiful baby!
I can buy a nikon d3300 for 300$ with lens!!!!!!
doesn't shoot 4k... doesn't edit films internally... doesn't connect to the internet... but it does autofocus
@@demasistudios yea these devices do shoot 4k but the quality of pixels are abismal and if anyones used a proper camera @1080p and then compared to a phone recording @4k it probably looks a lot better on the camera
I think I'll stay with mobile lenses. They are made with total focus on smartphone camera in the first place.
Are you Blake Webber out of character?
Anyone selling a beastgrip DOF adapter
Thats a lot of money for a piece of plastic that can just snap with all those things mounted on it. also.. looks like you could 3D print the whole thing for the price of a meal.
Why not? Because its not sharp.
Look closely... its NOT sharp.
So you get a TINY sensor and still have all this junk to carry around. Nah, I'll pass.
Why would you waste a lens capabilities on the tiny sensor inside a smartphone, while still carrying this mirrorless sized (and priced) contraption?

Expensive toy with extremely little practical value? Hmmm... I've seen a lot of films recorded with such setup, so I'm not sure if it's not practical.
