Great video and very straightforward. I don't see any other perfect time for one to invest in crypto and trade than now. I don’t think that buy and hold is a valid investment strategy anymore but trading is worth it and you make more money when you trade correctly. just made my first $100,000 in crypto and I barely know how to express how happy and excited I am right now. Bitcoin has been falling for a while now and I believe it is the right time to make a purchase and also get a pro's assistant because it will be big in a short time.
The question is, how does its value go from $20 to $30? Who decides that? Is it automatic?
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think when a coin is released it gets provided liquidity to another coin (e.g. eth, Btc, bnb, sol, etc. ) and that determines the ico value of it. Then when people start buying and selling the coin, the market determines the value of it based on demand and supply (owners can take out liquidity and that’s why rug pulls crash the coin to zero)

It’s determined by a few factors ie. buying, selling pressure, and the market cap of the coin
@@nickgonzales9850 it's a Ponzi. It has no real value and produces nothing economically. It's only value is to convince a sucker it's worth more than you paid.
So what I don't get is this. You essentially go 'OK here I have this nothing, would you like to buy it for something?' and then the nothing becomes something. How is that nothing suddenly worth anything at all? Because until someone buys it, it is nothing, it had no value, it is nonexistent. I really don't understand how nothing turns into something.
Thanks for your comment and questions. This happens all the time with fiat currency. It has value because we believe it has value. The same happens with crypto. It is just with crypto, it can be of more use (and, therefore, valuable) than merely a way of getting paid a salary or that we exchange to buy bread. Crypto can help us spend money anywhere in the world as if we were at home (no fees). It can mean businesses can instantly know whether a transaction is legitimate, using legitimate funds (for free). It can allow accountants to see the entire payment history of any crypto unit throughout its entire life, without referring to a third party. It can allow people to make investments without having to trust a third party (Defi) - this is unprecidented. et al. Put simply, fiat money is money level 1, Crypto is money level X, and the 'X' is practically infinite.
All of the money and valuables work like that. It is all based on scarcity. Like sure you can say that money is backed by golden reserves or something because some states don't even have that anymore. And then look at that gold and tell me why does it have value ? Or Diamonds or anything like that. Is it useful ? Why did it people use it to trade for goods. All of currencies have only the value that poeple believe it has and are willing to trade for it. Gold is jus a shiny yellow metal and hey it is at least useful for electronics what about that diamont tho ? it's just a bit harder coal. It has no value until somebody decides that they want it and are willing to invest into it with something and back it by value of something else. With cryptocurrencies it is something similar.
Thanks for the response 🍻 I said this to my dad yesterday actually, regarding diamonds. It's a false value we have put onto them. I just find it so strange that someone can get absolutely anything, in this example crypto coin, which is essentially nothing, and sell it to someone for X amount of pounds or dollars etc. For eg if I started my own crypto and called it 'Oddball coin' right now it has no value, it is nothing, it baffles me that someone would say, 'yes I'll buy 10 of those coins for £4,000'.
With gold etc, they're physical, i agree it's the same, we just put a value on it, but it's there we can see it and feel it. But with crypto, it has no physical form. And I think that's what I don't understand, how we value something that isn't physically there.

On a serious note, Diamonds are the hardest material on earth, and are used to cut other things (they can be used in drill bits for example).
They can also be used for laser, or wear & tear protection.
Gold is also useful for creating long-lasting dental fillings & space exploration equipment (due to its low maintenance requirements...well u cannot repair the space probe u sent away).
But back to this topic, it's all about giving a perceived value to utilities (gold/diamond/raw materials) or trust (fiat). Crypto can fall into either category, depending on the intended use by its creators.

- So you have to contribute for it to have value to you and who else right?
- And the more people that buy that the value goes up?
Let's say you bought 1000 coin at 0.50c each and months later the coin value reaches $20 because of other people contributing to that and adding more value, and then you sell to make profit.
Aren't all you doing is taking someone else's money? You all can't sell at once because then the value would be exactly what you bought it for so in order for someone else to make a huge profit, the other guy takes a HUGE L.

This is no different than a lotus board scheme. The ENTIRE value of a crypto is in the willingness of someone else to buy it SO THEY CAN SELL IT TO SOMEONE ELSE! Unlike gold, or corn, or a house, or a gallon of gasoline, there is no final consumer. There is no one who buys crypto simply to have and use it for any purpose that is specific to it. I'll pay for toilet paper because I consume it, not because someone else might but it at a higher price.

For me it got confusing around 2:20 - don't understand how the first 2 people profited $9000 each. The first dude bought 500 at $20 each and sold 300 at $30 each. His profit for that sale is 300 x $10 = $ 3000. He's got 200 coins left which he paid $20 x 200 = $4000 for. Where does the $9000 profit come from?

What's the asset backing the coin's price?
There is no inherent value of the coin except for the demand and supply trend and thereby its highly risky and volatile + its unregulated.
Crypto investing is basically gambling.

@@MrLeviaFUN the companies success and profitability. The more money a company earns, the more valuable their stock will be as there is more likelihood that they will pay dividends…..I believe. I’m fairly new to stocks. Maybe someone can correct or confirm this for me…
@@MrLeviaFUN buying stock is like buying a piece of that company. If they make money, they must share it with their stockholders. It’s why a lot of CEO’s say they have a responsibility to their shareholders.

But why does the price change at all? Doesn't that require someone either selling it for lower than the last price it's traded at, or buy higher? Why would someone do that? I can imagine that it's probably because more people want to buy than to sell or vice versa. But how does that work?
Usually we buy it / sell it for the price that it's at. So how does the price go up and down?

You lost me at the 2:00 mark. I'm not understanding how the value works when the coins are worth $20 and james offers $30 per coin. To me that is like buying 1 BTC for 75k when as of right now it's worth 63k. What does buying it for more than it's worth do for you? That's what has me confused
Like if 1 coin is $20 and they have 200 coins left, how do they have $6k worth with 200 coin if it is only worth $4000

After 1:30 Jenny has sold 500 coins for $10,000. She has therefore earned $10,000 and also has $10,000 worth of coins left (her 500). So in theory you're saying she could create another new cryptocurrency for $0 dollars, buy half HERSELF for $10,000 to increase the market capitalisation to $20,000, then sell the lot for $20,000 earning an easy $10,000 profit (after she's given herself back the initial $10,000 she paid to increase the market capitalisation). I've clearly missed something no??...

If a coin gets higher value and people start selling for FIAT this mean extra cash was pumped into economy without added value.
And this will raise inflation rates.
It's the perception of users that create value not real economic value.
The economy is real-world use, rather than speculation on the price. Today, 95% of investors own crypto to benefit from price growth. In time, this will become less of an issue as crypto becomes less of an emerging market and more of a mainstream market. Useful crypto will survive, speculative crypto won't. What do I mean by useful? A hedge against inflation is a use. Minimal fees for foreign transactions is a use. The next five to ten years will have crypto in 'value and price discovery mode' when this is over, crypto will largely behave like any other currency.

I think John only made a profit of only $3000, and not $9000. Because John initially spent $10,000 for 500 coins, or $20 per coin, so John spent $6000 on 300 coins, then when he sells 300 coins to James at $30 per coin, he gets $9000 from James, but you have to subract the $6000 that John initially spent to get those 300 coins, therefore John only made a net gain of $3000.
Why John and James would like to buy these coins ? How do they understand the worth of coins ?
Im still confused. Why does the value go up? You say he sells it for this and this other guy agrees but how does the price adjustment happen? How come he can't just charge 1000$ a share right after he bought them?
Why would james pay $30 a coin if the going rate is currently $20? This is what i can’t understand why does the price move from 20 to 30$? Who decides this? Any answers would be hugely appreciated. Also I understand he would be happy to pay 30 if he believes the intrinsic value is 100, but if its available for 20$ what makes it jump to 21, 22 25$ etc

I’m creating something, it’s not a crypto currency, but I’m here to know how it’s value can be calculated, how can J make a user exchanged market that allows for value calculation? What’s the math to knowing the value of each token
So hypothetically, in the future, when we're not using computers anymore, I can create a token in my head, having not be a physical thing at all, but if somebody buys it, then it has value. Why would somebody put value into something that doesn't have value in the first place. And then, if you put value into your own market, you're inflating it on purpose. Which once again why would anybody put value in to this (I don't understand I could be completely wrong with everything I just said, but I doubt it)

This does not take into account the costs to create the coins. The energy costs are enormous. Gold is also finite and rare and guess what holds back being able to poor more gold bars: the cost of finding more and then mining it.
It depends on the type of coin being created. Yes, bitcoin takes a proportionally large amount of energy to create new tokens, but it is most likely less than the equivalent amount of gold (prospecting, recovery, purification, transport and ultimately storage all have a cost). My question would be about the initial purchase. John agrees to pay $20 per coin, so Jenny sells 500 to him. So now doesn't Jenny have $10,000 in liquidity + 500 coins while John has -$10,000 + 500 coins? Other investors see this so they think because John was willing to pay $20 per coin that it has an intrinsic value of $20 each, but now they think it could be worth more in the future and are willing to pay $30/each. That's what I'm confused about.

Technically, every crypto project has a default value of 1 satoshi per unit or token. The example given is illustrative. When more capital is traded into the crypto project, it raises in value in proportion to the size of the asset (the hard cap) and the amount of capital introduced. So I still don't understand how you transition from having crypto currency pinned to Fiat. I believed that part of the reason why we want to move to a decentralized currency that is digital is so that we can have a system that ISN'T based solely on speculation. Wouldn't it make more sense to set a predetermined value that is agreed upon and simply increase the pool to match population growth.

Well, that's how all currency works. Everyone needs to believe that the paper, or in this case a digital token, has value. As more people trade things of value for the crypto coin, the value of the crypto coin goes up. The positive of crypto over national currency is that the amount of coins is capped and can not be increased. With national currency, the government can print money as much as they want because there is no hard cap. The continuous printing of money causes the value of the currency to decrease.

Yes, you are correct. The more people who contribute funds to a (capped) cryptocurrency, the more that cryptocurrency will be worth to each owner. The reason the crypto is worth anything in the first place is that it solves a problem for a reasonable section of the population. For BTC, it is one of the easiest ways of transacting large amounts of value ever created, with minimal trust issues (due to.its Blockchain transparency) and comparatively low fees (try sending $1+ million internationally using banks).
