One tip I'd like to add for faking hair extensions. Use the tiger stripes as a texture for the fake hair, set one color so that it's just bellow the real hair and set the other color so that it's just above the real hair color. You may have to tweak the lighting and saturation a bit depending on the object, but if successful the result can be quite effective.
Very good advice, I especially agree with the part at 6:59, making a soul character remake of other existing characters definitely look better than trying to be 100% accurate to original designs.
As a person who does utilize every aspect of CaS, I feel this video should be shown to everyone who doesn't really know how to properly customize a character. Also a very big tip: *USE THE DIFFERENT HEIGHTS AVAILABLE AND MAKE USE OF EVERY PART OF THE SLIDING SCALE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO ALTER BODY PROPORTIONS!* They're included for a reason!
Hell Yeah. Size and proportions can be everything! I made the Crystal Gems from SU (keep judging to urselves) and knowing the difference in size and proportions of Amethyst, Pearl and Garnet make selling the looks easier. All is needed is to adjust accordingly.
there’s little difference tho unless you actually include extremes eg: -20 waist, +20 pectorals, + 20 hips and +10 thigh will give an hour glass shape. but every other combo is also an hourglass just less extreme
it always bugged me when people used very oversaturated colors to make an animated character such as Sailor Moon. It just doesn't seem to work in the soul calibur universe to me.
Ehh, sometimes I can more than understand doing so. For instance if you're adapting an outfit from a previous Soulcalibur, like about half of the CoTS characters, you can't go too dim on them..
To add onto your statement about patterns and stickers, there is one pattern that I find works quite literally perfectly with almost everything, to give a good diffuse, though especially metals and leathers. Take the speckled black and green pattern at the bottom of the first page, and pump its size down as low as you can. Then, change its third color first, to something around where you want the color to be. For the middle color, I usually go black, and tye first faries depending on what I'm doiny. I've used it for rust, normal wear-and-tear, and even just making a pair of leather boots look more varied.
Thank you so much for this. They're look so eye popping it's amazing. And the part about the stickers, it makes alot more sense. It's like improving your art, and it's cool
I often revisit my current created character...try patterns color outfits etc to give them a more clean detailed look ( an improved makeover) make some modifications, and so on.. " Just because something works, doesn't mean it can't be improved. " Princess Shuri from Black Panther
"change skin color" This is honestly the BIG one for me. Cause seriously, if I see ONE MORE character from an anime/cartoon/ etc. That is supposed to be of a different(or even unique) skin tone that's just the default white again....I'm gonna lose my mind.
Sometimes there are creations that aren't meant to be. It's okay to fit in with the confines of the character creation you'll create more seamless characters.
Sometimes I take the earrings accessories and move them to the hips and use them as a belly button ring for female characters! Looks really good if you modify the size and angles just right!
I wish we could choose the lines depending on the moves and stuff so characters wouldn't say nonsense like "I won't go easy, you're mine, farewell, just a little more" in a row...
Nice tips. I'm too lazy to use them on most characters, but I have a couple I actually put time into and they look really nice. You make really good content here.
I appreciate the help on the extra details of mine and other people's creations, but please don't shame people for what they create just because it doesn't look good to you, I notice you saying stuff like "People have no taste sometimes" or "Get those disgusting costumes out of the game", let people enjoy what they created and don't shame them for it, instead, let them love what they created, but have them love it more with the extra details they could put on it, but I'm not a hater, I appreciate you helping me with my creations😊
To each their own, but I feel like some of these tips is more a matter of taste. If I use things like stickers, patterns and whatever I feel like the CaS will look more like a character from another game than a character that fits in the world of Soul Calibur (unless you do a character from books, films and etc.) Not bad that you do use some of those features, but all of the characters in this game have 'simple' designs with a minimum of patterns and stickers.

i personally found making Papyrus have Kilik's style with one specific weapon colored a sort of off-white as a representation of all the bone attacks he uses during the fight as a sort of fitting representation of him. Also Sans as Azwel style just fits due to his psychokinesis. for Undyne, i gave her Seong Mi-Na's style with the Primitive Spear weapon colored completely light blue (her ice spear projectiles) and put her in her more casual look (the tank top, jeans, and boots. eyepatch mandatory)

I'm watching this while waiting for the game to download on my laptop, heheh (it's on sale on Steam as of this writing, and I can't wait to play around with character creation)! I liked how u used soundtrack from final fantasy 15 in the middle of the video XD anyways, really nice video. Hoping to get this game soon after my tests are over
Another caveat I'd add is this video: while stickers, patterns, and armor pieces are freely at your disposal please be aware that you can overdo it and instead of a bland character with no life breathed into them they're instead this overboard catamari man with stuff stuck to them. Always strike the perfect balance to make an appealing character- Remake or OC.

I'm new to the game since it was on offer. I have a few questions. Can i unlock more cosmetics? if so is there a substantial amount ? how do I unlock them ? Also can I download characters made by others on console ?
There's some cosmetics in the Cas mode, you can unlock by using your Soul Points, earned in Libra of Soul or Online modes. There are not so many cosmetics though. You can download character creation from other players, yes but you can't change the weapon style if it's a SC character of course. And they have to be on the same console, iirc.

I managed to make a pretty accurate remake of the Raider character from For Honor, 80% of everyone I fight messages me saying it looks awesome even though they don't know what it's based from.
P. S I even made a fairly convincing beard
My go to colours when I don't have any idea for now to make a character: Black - Grey - White 😂😂
How do you use these customizations?????
The creation mode is great. Thx for your tips.
But why can't we change parts of the face like ears, nose, eyes etc individually. Would be better
Thanks for your comment!
Yeah I'd love to see more customization options but OC are garbage anyway LMAO
Need some help regarding something in the customization of the game.I saw some other creations that in some parts, for instance a belt buckle or a specific part when the characters move is like this part have some kind of hologram effect. The color change like it shines or some short. Can anyone have a hint for how you can do this? Thanks for your time ppl!
Hey, I know this may be a hassle but could you show everything you used to make the Edelgard creation maybe a video like you did for cordelia, or maybe instead, just let me know everything you used in the reply section below? Itd really be helpful because I'm trying to get into playing hilde but wanna have her cosplay an anime character while I play her. Anyway, thanks for everything and many more thanks if you do tell me!
@@harmonyofsirius2397 I also found out that you can't use downloaded characters against friends online sadly
6:13 I remade the payday gang
Dallas
Jacket
Chains
Sydney
Maybe more
You can change the saturation!? Wha- I- why isn’t that a labeled button?
Are you serious haha!?
Want some help regarding SC 6 for ps4! In the libra of souls mode in the mission journeys end, when i fight & beat aswel the game crashes all the time! Has anyone else having the same problem? PLEASE HEEEEELP!!!
Oh that's a shame! Try to report it to PSN.
@@harmonyofsirius2397 I reported it on bandai namco and they said to delete everything from my system in order to have it restored! They responded after some more messages of mine that they will inform the game devs about this. But truthfully i i don't expect anything to be honest because simply they don't care at all! Only if others have the same problem and get reports from all of them this will be patched!
