    I think the saddest part about the family tree is how completely normal sexual abuse must have seemed to them. Like they went thru such horrific things and were told its normal and ended up doing it to eachother to the point that theres a different line on the graph for assualts

    At first, i was kind of glad because Tim was an outsider, he could've stopped the incest act of his wife's parents, but instead he chose doing the most terrifying thing for the next 3 or 4 generations. Just imagine your father is your own great-grandfather, poor those children.

      But some as you said was fathered by Tim. One was the child of his granddaughter and was both his daughter and great grandaughter, . This child had the same father as her mother and grandmother.
      I saw photos of these people. They are here on youtube. They all look very similar.

  • @thomas5054

    This case absolutely blew my mind away when I first heard about: to think that a family could live in such seclusion, committing all these heinous crimes even whilst still sending their children to school (unlike other similar cases), and authorities either did not know or care about it.
    Add to that the fact that most of the children that would show up as having unrelated parents only did so because they were already adults and couldn't be forced/tracked down to do DNA testing (like Tammy, who had left the family years prior), couldn't do so in time for trial, or because they were minors who were not really cooperating with the police. I believe the only child that was conclusively determined to have unrelated parents was Rhonda's youngest daughter, Cindy.
    This was an example of how a "simple" decision could have tragic consequences for generations to come. I would understand why June would think incest was okay, as her parents were siblings, but she happened to find a man for whom it was also a kink. Had she grown up in a different environment, or perhaps found another man, this whole situation could have been avoided. It was a full combination of toxic people somehow finding one another, and perpetuating depravity.
    In this case, I really feel bad for everyone. They weren't give a fair shot in life: Betty, Martha, Rhonda and Charlie's generation grew up being groomed and abused by their parents, only to perpetuate these same crimes onto each other out of ignorance, and later on, their children and grandchildren.
    Of course, their abuse of the children is inexcusable, morally reprehensible, and absolutely deserved to be punished, but you can't help but wonder the amount of abuse these people experienced themselves, that their parental instincts with regards to SA effectively vanished. In other cases, their children being abused is what leads many to report it to the police, as they put up with the abuse hoping it would spare their children of the same fate. The Colts had no such drive to protect their children: they just passed them around to be abused by the same people that had abused them, and to commit the abuse themselves. To the point that, according to Tammy, the only reason she entered a 'proper' relationship with her brother Derek was so that she'd be spared from being abused by the rest of her family. That there was even a "no-touching someone's designated partner" policy within an incestuous family sickens me to my stomach.

      Fertility does not go away. But genetic mutations will make it so the odds of surviving once born drop drastically. King Tut prime example. Extremely deformed. Died young. Non of his children survived long past birth.

    • @mrjones2721
      @mrjones2721 9 месяцев назад

      Incest doesn’t usually affect fertility. There’s no one specific affect it has, except to amplify whatever genes are present. (It can amplify good genes as well as bad-Cleopatra was the product of seven or eight generations of inbreeding so intense that the Coles look like nothing.) It’s easy to reverse the effects of any harmful genes by marrying people who don’t have those genes. 150 years is at least five generations, more than enough time to undo the effects of any genes amplified by incest. It sounds like your family has an unfortunate gene that you would have had even if there wasn’t incest in your family tree.

    • @stevenschnepp576
      @stevenschnepp576 9 месяцев назад +27

      Incest used to be a _lot_ more common, though generally at the first and second cousins level than siblings. It typically takes several generations of sustained incest for the detrimental effects to start showing up.

      Not every species of animal is inbreeders that just not true. If animals were fully incestuous it would corrupt their gene pool. They are subconsciously aware of this. How stupid to think that animals constantly interbreed then walk around like a bunch of retards and spread genetic abnormalities through the species. Animal interbreeding is rare and follows a specific set of rules nature has set forth.

    I dont know. They didn't look at my family, though 1 side is a " step" family. Out of 6 brothers including my stepfather,4 were pedophiles. My step aunt had a baby with her father,bub was fine. They adopted the baby out. That same step aunt had a S__ual relationship with her brother that lasted for yrs. On my mums side, my great aunts kids, brother and sister lived together until she died. They had a very successful nursery out of Adelaide. No-one knew.. When she died in her early 50s of breast cancer, he unalived himself that night. It was only through the death notices did the towns folk find out. They thought they were married. They decided no children and i know what most pple would think but they were lovely. It was Jimmy who wouldn't let her go. She was going to get married one time. He tried to delive himself so he took that away from her.

    I mean, the purple kids who had parents who were further removed had parents who were result of incest themselves, so at that point, genetically they may as well be the pink level or worse.
