    Thanks for the vid. It get really old when people try and tell me that LC4 plugs are the same as OS8. 🤦🏻‍♂️ some people just don’t want to know the truth.

    I’ve argued with a buddy about nitro engines. He swore up and down that nitros are basically diesel engines, and he’s a mechanic! I told him how nitro glow plugs operate differently to 7.3 powerstroke glow plugs and he refused to accept that. Some people “know so much” that they don’t bother to ask questions lol. Once again great video

      Dude! 💯 I have argued that on and off for years! And for whatever reason people just don't want to believe it. I think it's more so they think it's like a Detroit 2 stroke and they want to believe it's a Diesel and they are completely different. Not even close! Other than that fact that they both fire each stroke.

      @@thebug4046Nitro rc engines are foreign to a lot of people so I can forgive them for not understanding how they work. Relating them to diesels is probably their way of trying to understand them. But arguing from a position of ignorance and not accepting new information is a bad way to go about it imo.

    FYI. Turbine engines use glowplugs too. My JDE 54 engine uses a regular OS LC3, but with the element teased out to ignite the propane easier.

    The turbo plug has a conical seat . the taper is the seal .It seats in a tapered seat under the threads in the head. The tapered seat eliminates the need for a copper washer!

    As usual, you are right on the money! These companies pay their engineers to figure all this shit out for you. Engineers went to school for these things and they do a good job for the most part. If your not a qualified engineer or highly trained technician why screw with it? Unless, of course, you have more money than sense. Lol.

    Thank you for making videos trying to bring back common sense. There are too many people out there in the world today that think they are experts on everything yet don't know shit about anything they just want to sound intelligent and like they know what they're talking about like you said in this video, do you really think you know better than the engineers that the manufactures paid thousands and thousands of dollars to design these things do you really think you know better than they do on their own engine? No, you do not.

    • @thebug4046
      @thebug4046  Год назад

      It really blows my mind about how stupid and ignorant people are when it comes to things like that. like you just finish saying the manufacturers of these things and design teams spend weeks months if not years designing and perfecting the best performance possible for the application and the parts to achieve said performance and reliability why would you change that and think something else is better when in fact it is not. that's why the manufacturer recommends a certain part! I was Mechanic for 50 years! That doesn't mean you know what you're talking about!! 🤣🤣 The amount of myths that people have come up with and nonsense about how exotic things are really blows my mind.

      @@lukesylvester2022 no one makes them anymore other than cox. They are often quite expensive or you will have to take a gamble on a used one Also you cannot use regular pump diesel you have to make your own fuel and depending on where you live you might not be able to do that if you cannot get ether that is pure enough. you will also need kerosene and racing castor oil As well as Ignition improver. To change the Ctane numbers to make it start easier and use less compression. Also they don't handle the same as a glow engine you have to start from scratch every time you want to start one.

      @@lukesylvester2022 It was never really a thing that took off in North America. it was more or less in Europe. Mind you these engines haven't been made for almost 30 years when you could get all these ingredients very easily. It was much cheaper to fly and still is if you can make your own fuel. No nitro no glow plugs no batterys. Add fuel flip adjut and fly until you run out of fuel or get sick of it lol
