His real name is Peter Gene Hernandez. His dad nicknamed him Bruno as a kid after a wrestler named Bruno Sammartino and he came up with Mars joking around that he's out of this world.
Nah he used Mars cuz he didn't want people to think he his Spanish and going to make Spanish sort of music and got confuse with his race is pretty mixed (very) that's why he was like use something that no one judges him.
