I remember doing this to my used jato I bought years ago. This makes me want to get it going again. My motor needs a new crank, crankcase, and crank bearings. It’s prettymuch shot at that point so I will try to get a new one altogether. If I remember right, something busted in my tranny as well, it quit shifting into second no matter how much I adjusted the shift point and snugged up the slipper. I cant remember if I fixed it or not. That’s what happens when I put trucks into storage with issues....I never remember the full extent of the problems, haha!
Wow, Thank you so much. You answered every single question I had on my rebuild. Your attention to detail is 100% Epic. I’m truly envious! I wish I wasn’t so lazy and spent that extra time as you’ve done!!! If by Any chance you get your hands on the Rustler 4x4 VXL or a ARRMA talion to rebuild PLEASE PLEASE LET ME KNOW! SO DAM GOOD!
Jato is my first love. It was my first Nitro and I still love it. Don't buy RDLogics duel pipe. It doesn't run right. Not enough pressure on the fuel line return.
Just a fact that this type of engines can work without any backpressure in the fuel tank you but when you don't have back pressures you have to retune it or make it rich so it will suck up the fuel
That was so awesome to see you take that whole car apart and watch it run might have to do the same for mine what settings did you have your needles at I look online and don't really understand exactly I learn better visually than thru text thanks a ton I can't wait to see more upgrades and run videos. I have 3 cars inspired by your videos and they run fantastic so fast yet so durable you make some great cars and have some awesome ideas for them
If you’re running a Traxxas engine I’m sure the specs for carb adjustment would be online, they provided me with a booklet when I swapped out my 2.5 for a 3.3 for their power up program.
4 turns out on the hp needle be gentle not to over tighten it just till it bottoms out and then mess with your low speed and idle they do effect each other
Puling mine apart again and adding hop up parts to get rid of weak points. I destroyed it a couple weeks ago doing 50..right into a wooden 4x4 mailbox post. HA! Parts are cheap but not when they all break at once🤣
I got a jato 3.3 back in 2013 for my first nitro rc car. Probably not a good choice for a first nitro rc car but whatever lol. It would be great if you made some more videos of your jato if it's still around. I guess I should put some money where my mouth is and donate some rmp a arms for it or somthin. I went to a skate park recently with my jajo and got about 20 seconds of driving before I busted a rear a arm after one small 5 foot jump that landed upside down. How embarrassing.
Idk how you remembered what screw went where I just did this with an old nitro truck took the trans apart I couldn’t remember where the screws went ended up using to long a screw in one of the holes and it went through the plastic trans case and wrecked it
Bro awesome bid and what is the jam mix? Is that all 1 group or what I want those jams. I rebuilt my TMaxx 3.3 the same way man. Nothing like taking the time to do it all the way. Fantastic video man. Seriously send me those Jams
Any chance you have the original for this video, not sped up? Odd request but I’ve just found my old jato in my mums garage and need to finish off putting it back together, finding it very difficult to work out what bits I have missing (suffered a front end collision 6 & half years ago) I bought a spares and repairs chassis actually included the engine which is a 2.5 but my 3.3 has only had a matter of hours use lol
In no way do I trust myself to completely strip apart a Jato, and get it back together. Sure, I could take it apart, easy. And I could clean it. Also easy. And I could get the upgrades to the point if requiring a bank loan. However, rebuilding it? No freaking way!
Nate 07 The NR has a completely different chassis and suspension. The Jato is a newer generation of 2wd stadium truck. Think of what the Revo was to the TMaxx.
Definitely would be helpful, do a certain part at regular speed and then pause the video, and over again and again until finished. As this would be the most perfect time to add any upgrades.
When you had the jato taken apart. My nitro slash was the same way. I bulit mine from the ground. Got it as a roller barely. Now it has the 3.3 and a bunch of upgrades.
You still into. Nitro I just got a. Used jato for 40 bucks needs a new top plate an controller I'm. In the middle of. Tearing it down. Cause someone beat the piss out it but still runs an. Transmission an stuff is good
@@nickwoodruff3321 Yeah yuck, I "upgraded" to a pull start with a igniter and it is much less frustrating than hearing the easy start motor getting slower... and slower... All you need is a working arm, and a couple of c batteries
yet another "how to" video on how to work on a R/C Traxxas truck... look some common sense goes along way.. if a part is broke .. figure out how to take it apart and fix it... these trucks are build tough but easy as hell to take apart.........
There are 2 things I love about nitro trucks not being the one wasting his life with one and watching others waste their lives with theirs. Sorry but the time and frustration suffered and wasted working on and tuning a chemically fueled vehicle is not in any way worth it imo. For every minute you drive one there is like 3 mins of work and tuning you have to pay later. I mean I kind of understood it back in the day when nitro was faster than electric but that is now far from true.
Awesome video! I just picked up the same car today.

Damn dude nothing but *RESPECT* & *PROPS* I've *ALWAYS* wanted to do this but *NEVER* *DARED!!!!*

Just got a broken jato to work on last weekend. So glad you put uo this video. Thank you
Amazing full strip down and rebuild! Timelapse is critical and normal speed for the commentary over the important parts. Well done! #CorporateNitro

I found that plastic ring on top of the motor is a cooling restriction,,took it off and it seems to cool better
Just got a free jato chassis. Everything works just needs an engine (which I have), a throttle linkage and a motor mount. Then she will rip.
Hell yeah brother!! I also have a Jato and it's my first fast RC it rips!
Thinking about doing this to my old jato. I had an old ofna 1/8 buggy that I got for free and traded that for the jato back in 2008
Sweet video dude.

Great vid man love the jatos
If you watch in .25 speed it’s just a little faster than real time. whole disassemble technically which is dope
When do you or do you plan on upgrades like all the others and make a series of vids ???
For the Jato 3.3 i buy a Chassis protector for it.
Great video very thorough, love the time laps great job!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✌🏻❤️
u have some skill my dude. I would be sooo lost
Same

Yup fun cars but very fragile fun times though lol rustler spindles swap over though and helps with durability and let's you run hex wheels

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This is just what I needed.

Oddly satisfying 👍🏻
Bro, good job
You should make it a race truck
In case you missed it, it's pronounced "jaytoe" !
Stopped watching as soon as I heard “ Jahtoh “
@@TE-RC yup me to! I was like WTF! How can you not know how to pronounce it!🤣🤣
Lol guy couldn't even get it to idle
Awesome!

Awesome
Awesome, awesome, awesome video! Any ideas on name, color, or intro?
Thanks
I always put the battery in the box behind the fuel tank
when I tried for the first time to put a battery there, with all the telementary shish, the wires got in the way and I was pulling my hair out lol
Lol same I ended up zip tying it to the front shock tower and cutting off the battery box 🤣

And yet still no run videos
It’s helpful
Tkx
Cool fix .. but need better lighting though ..hard to see, too dark
What's the difference between a jato and nitro rustler? They look the same from the outside?
Nate 07 The NR has a completely different chassis and suspension. The Jato is a newer generation of 2wd stadium truck. Think of what the Revo was to the TMaxx.
Jato has better suspension and a two speed while rustlers have more durability and a single speed transmission and more parts/ upgrade availability
👌🏼👌🏼
Do you have a more in depth version so I can see the details
Definitely would be helpful, do a certain part at regular speed and then pause the video, and over again and again until finished. As this would be the most perfect time to add any upgrades.
Jason how long did the rebuild take w out timelapse
Whats the name of that song at 12:30
Hey man is there any way you still have that old transmission? I need a few parts for mine and would pay if i have to
Never reassemble with WD-40 not a lubricant.
What's the song? I love your videos.
How much did you spend in the end?
why does nitro have slipper clutch?
How's your wrist?
When you had the jato taken apart. My nitro slash was the same way. I bulit mine from the ground. Got it as a roller barely. Now it has the 3.3 and a bunch of upgrades.
You need to get a losi 5t
Bubbles coming out though glow plugs hole. What is that. How can I fix it.
Unscrew and screw and make sure it's sealed
Do you know of anyone giving away a free one currently? haha
Also, what do you think your real labor time amounted to when finished?
Is there a link to this video that's in real time...?
Just put it in slow in youtube
How you doing
You probably could’ve got away with jet washing that thing
Yup electronic cleaner and a rag works very well every time
isn't it pronounced jayto not jawto

good rebuild but the video needs to be slowed down going too fast to see how your rebuilding
I have some part if you need any
For my jato 3.3 I need them
upgrade your stampede more!!!
Fuggg that thats why i HATE KITS AND REBUILDING LOL WAYY 2 MUCH STRESS BRANDNEW READY TO GO PLS LO
I will trade you my 1 of my ez starts with out the battery with a wand for pull start for the 3.3 and for a pro 15 and an n3 plug brand new
Jato '3.3' and '33' comments. Lol now 34 :(
you need an electric starter I have a Jato 3.3
As do I and it most certainly doesn’t “need” the ez-start. A good old recoil and a glow igniter is the way to go, imo.
@@nickwoodruff3321 Yeah yuck, I "upgraded" to a pull start with a igniter and it is much less frustrating than hearing the easy start motor getting slower... and slower... All you need is a working arm, and a couple of c batteries
I wish i had this kinda time. Just got promoted....f#!& m%
Why
its pronounced jot-o not jade-o
It's jayto
How tf do people donate all this stuff
can't hear it over the music
It's pronounced JAY-TOE.
