    I love how you use a lot of natural materials in your patterns. I actually happened to shoot some partridge and I plucked the feathers to use them for tying so I have a ton of feathers and I’ve been looking for some patterns using a lot of partridge.

      Hi Matteo, The best is to skin the birds whole, its not that difficult and treat them just as I do the deer mask. This way you keep all the feathers on the skin, which makes them easier to choose when you are tying.

      The feather bender yeah I’ll probably try to do that next time I just wasn’t sure exactly how to skin them.

    Is the wire to help hold the fly together? Or for segmentation?

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  4 года назад

      Hi Randy, both it reinforces the hares ear dubbing and gives a little segmenting and flash.

    Nice looking fly Barry. But with all the partridge isnt it rather a wet fly?
