I may have a chance to get a used Yamaha (but in good condition) KX-8 usb midi keyboard weighted 88 key for $225-250. I would use it to learn piano, and also to play midi samples, tones, beats, off it with computer and/or midi synth hardware etc. Do you think this keyboard would rank highly in your 88 Key midi keyboard for under $300 category even tho it is used? Thanks, appreciate your channel and wisdom! 😊👍
Another great thing to remember about this piano versus Roland Go 88 - not only is it 1kg lighter, but it also takes AA batteries as opposed to D cells. 6 D cell batteries will weigh 1kg or over, whereas six AA batteries are considerably lighter. So the weight different between the Korg Liano and Roland Go 88 closer to 2kg if you are using batteries.
The best keyboard for solo piano gigs. I have a weighted one but ever since I bought this, I never take the weighted one out. This keyboard is almost always in my car. It’s light enough to put on your back with a case. Makes gigging so much more pleasant. For band gigs, I use 61 keys.
That Debussy segment at the opening is just stunning. It's better than the recordings - sure be nice to hear you play the full version sometime. Outstanding 👍🏼
One more thing: Regarding the missing indicator light for the sound selector, that's an age-old problem with a lot of devices. My solution: Apply a small spot of white type correction fluid (remember those?) inside or next to the notch. Problem solved.
If this keyboard could instantly give me your keyboard talent and musicianship, Jeremy, I would already have ordered it! Thank you for a beautiful and informative demo.
I agree with your assessment about keyboards with hundreds of sounds most people will never use. It's a marketing tool for manufacturers to make people want to buy theirs, and costs them little to nothing to add the sounds. Also great point about not having built in Bluetooth, as almost every device today is Bluetooth capable. It seems a blend of Casio, Korg, and Yamaha features would make an ideal product, that we will probably never see at an affordable price. This sure seems to be a compelling product. I just wish their software would work with 10" Kindle Fire HD tablets. Having to purchase an iPad to work with the software doubles the price.
Agreed. But the iPad Mini 6 256G would be a great thing to have for music and many other things. Many tech reviewers say it is the best all around iPad, as the size makes it easy to handle, but a screen big enough to be easy to view and use. Some traded in their iPad Pros and are happy, but most already have a MacBook Pro, too. So especially for home studio use, this is great for the price and would fit what I need to have a nice 88 key instrument at home with my 2 61 note keyboards, the Roland Go:Keys and Casiotone CT-S1, my Roland JD-Xi synth/vocorder and my Yamaha PSS-A50. When I get a Pro level keyboard, I will use it at church, and also a steal for $1200. The Roland RD 88 that has everything wanted in a professional level stage piano and has 3000 voices, and many things other digital pianos does not have. The bottom line is there something for everyone at different budgets. And this Korg Liano is definitely a gem.
I don't particularly like this new trend to put features in some app ( the new model from Yamaha pulls the same trick ). What if they decide to discontinue some model , which they eventually always do ? That would render the entire thing useless . From what I understand Yamaha is even removing features from older models to promote their new shiny toy + app .
It's amazing to see Korg entering the Budget VFM Keyboard Category with an Amazing instrument!! And as Always, Great Video Jeremy, your content never disappoints!!
Just ordered one. I know my chords, I had lessons but never stuck with it. Decided at this price point, I can be as awful as I want with no buyer’s remorse.
Thank you for the review! I wanted this keyboard for a long time but ended up ordering Roland piano 88 because the sound in it flows so much better and realistic imo but this Korg is also amazing for the price 😊
I really like your samples @8:23 an 8:54. Having carried a Fender Rhodes 73 since 1975 to every apartment in my life I would really appreciate the less strain on my back. It's the lower register keys I miss the most. thanks for pursuing Art.
At least you play a Rhodes, and not a Hammond C3! Friends help you move; REALLY good friends help you move a Hammond! Haha! (I got my C3 for free, and it has the same innards as a B3.)
That Korg Gadget LE software looks amazing, but it was really sad to learn that it's only for Apple products or windows devices? I was really hoping to have the same setup as Jeremy shows in the video, but with my own Android tablet... Are there any Android alternatives to this software?
I picked up an inexpensive electric piano for about $300 on a Black Friday sale several years ago. All 88 keys, a handful of sounds, and weighted keys. I think it even supports MIDI.
I'm looking up different keyboards right now because I want to RELEARN how to play. So far all your videos have been great. This keyboard sounds awesome, but yea that audio jack is a problem for me
I bought a Korg D1... For the action on the keys and to practice my scales on it... I would like to play this one wish there was a music shop in these parts... Always a pleasure to watch your demos... ☮🔥🎹
The thing I am concerned about is whether the black or white keys near the felt area is ok to press down easily. The Casio CT-S1, LK-S450, and even PX-S7000 do not pass this test. When playing Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement, my thumb and little finger are both on black keys, and I need to use the middle or ring finger to press another black key, so I am force to press it down near the felt area. On those 3 pianos above, it was very difficult.
it is better than on some cheap keyboards, but still quite difficult to play on the keys in between black keys.. I actually hate this action it is like a heavy spring with rubber at the bottom.. and you can hear the rubber noisy every time you press the keys
@@bowlvidya did you really write this about liano? usually they say that liano keys are very light and there is no feeling of a spring. What you are describing is similar to yamaha p125. Are there any keyboards that you liked?
An excellent video review, as usual! The one thing I would miss is an onboard strings/piano layered sound. Otherwise, it's impressive for the price. But I'm loving my Yamaha PSR-E473 with the microphone input. I really wish I would have gotten the PSR-EW425 with the 76 keys, though.
Great review on this keyboard as I am considering purchasing this item mainly for the portability, you made some good points on what it lacks and I hope Korg takes this up on future builds.
I picked one up a few months ago. The main reason being that my arthritis forced me to find a lighter action 88 key instrument. I like it overall, but do wish that the internal reverb was better. I’m using an app through my iPad to rectify that issue.
I bought the Liano before watching this video. I was sold on the psr e473 from your videos. Went to buy it then realised, i don't need so many features. Just wanted something simple 🙂
The Liano looks and sounds nice for a small unit. It would be nicer yet if it had an optional stand with three pedals to go with it, but for bare bones and portable use it looks wonderful. Looking around, I saw it being sold with Knox stand and bench.
Hi ! Reviewing your videos I came down to 2 options this korg liano or the Alesis recital pro, I am guitar player that record on my home studio and want to learn keys to add them to my daw recordings Please give me you personal opinion on what would be better for me? I see the alesis has more modern features and more sounds , but the liano seems also a good option
Early times for wishes for a second version, but I hope Korg would add a good stage piano and a Wurly e-piano sound to a Liano II and please, please, Korg, add split & layering to an updated version plus two good bass voices for the split function. The lack of split is a show-stopper for me.
Wow, this is exactly what I needed and more! Buying as a gift while knowing nothing about pianos, and this video was a gem of a find. I make videos for a living and seeing how well this was put together is astounding. Thank you very much, sir 🤝
Uff i highly disagree on BT.. the latency as well as the lower sound quality even leads to a significant higher price (license, electronics , planning, interference etc)
As a Beginner Wow its my dream piano 88keys Korg. But i dont have yet money to buy this piano lol. I loved the sound of Digital E-Piano it sounds like similar to yamaha.
I would have to play it too know if it’s for me. Love your videos. I’m an owner of a kawai mp7se. It is very heavy but I’ve been looking for one cheaper and lighter to use for church so i don’t always have to lift it but still has a professional sound that can lead through worship no prob the way the kawai can. You are a beautiful player man!
Excellent video…….Korg is and has always been my favorite synth keyboards……the mini Korg…but I wasn’t aware of this 88 key piano…..THANK YOU ! A thousand thank yous my friend………beautiful playing btw………5 stars! Greetings from Hollywood CA
If this keyboard had pitchbend and mudulation wheels and a standard MIDI out, I am sure music producers would be buying multiple units for their studios.
Do you live in Singapore? I don't know how different are brands that sold in Singapore or Indonesia (where do I live), but maybe you (if you can) should try Fort Batavia and compare it to Artesia PE-88. They are in the same-range price, but I want to know your opinion about the sound quality. Thank you.
Mine just arrived, having experienced the Roland Go 88 I agree this Korg Liano keyboard is much, much better overall for less money. The Roland had too much sustain dropoff and just wouldn't sustain very well as well as a worse action, and the sound sample quality is noticeably better on this Korg, particular on the main Piano 1 setting. Couple of immediate things I noticed though 1) Anyone know why all the C# and D# keys notes seem oddly spaced? The C# is left of where it should be and D# right of where it should be? Is this a manufacturing thing to make it cheaper/lighter or is it somehow better for beginners with that spacing? Doesn't really affect playability it just looks a little odd. 2) When you press Reverb + Metronome to access a function such as transpose (which I use regularly) it seems to switch the reverb off and you have to remember to switch it back on again? And yes it is not very clear even looking physically at the reverb button whether the reverb is on or not.
I noticed that you mentioned that the keyboard can use PA speakers, but wow, some of us can't rake up enough money for that. On My keyboard, it comes with 2 built in speakers at 20 watts each, and measuring 4 inch sub and tweeter, so I'm looking for a better external speakers for my keyboard, so I'm writing to ask your opinion on what I can get for no more than 200 bucks. And good enough for the Pipe Organ sounds and choirs. I want to know what size the speaker woofer needs to be or whether or not I need an amp? I prefer stereo studio or similar. Also, should I buy a subwoofer for the Pipes low sounds? Thanks for your time Jeremy, I try to watch a lot of your videos. Terry
Thank you Jeremy for your beautiful playing and thorough review. Would like to know with the audio out isn't it possible to connect the Liano with RCA cables to a Phillips CD recorder. I saw somewhere that the audio out could be used for several devices, including a recorder.
I've ordered my first ever digital piano Roland FP-10 which will be my foray into weighted action keys, and also the only digital piano my music store in my vicinity had(btw music stores here in my area is very scarce) i found the sound really very dynamic with such depth. It's about to arrive in couple more weeks. How does this compare to FP-10?! If this was an option, would've gone for this.
Thank you for the review Jeremy. I have a problem here. I cannot decide which is better: Yamaha PSR-E473 vs Casio CT-X800 vs Korg liano? Which one is better in your opinion? Price is very similar among them
I wish you would mention brand and model number in your title or description!! Your results don’t show up in RUclips searches for this reason. No need to keep it a mystery Jeremy :) just write the name and model!!
Sir with a 20000 INR Budget which is the best 88keys Weighted keys Piano elec. Piano organ strings (If possible harmonica and guitar) Sustain and volume. Pedals MIDI Out If possible pitch bender Yamaha korg roland or any other
No such thing in that range I'm afraid. Either you save up for Yamaha p45 or Casio s110. I'm currently finding one to buy in India too, secondhand market is none existant sadly 😔
Always enjoy your videos and have used your advice to make my purchase decisions. I have picked up piano at the age of 75, had lessons as a kid and played a little as an adult until it became too ponderous to move a piano cross country. Been relearning since October 2023. I also have a Casio PX-S3100 and I enjoy it except that I practice with headphones and I can hear the ‘clunk’ of key action outside of the headphones and it’s irritating. I got the Casio CT-S1 for a portable solution for practice when I’m not at home. Reviews of the Korg Liano mention the quiet key action. How does the feel compare to the two Casios I have? I have PX-S3100 set to lightest key action. I find I need to adjust to the semi-weighted feel of the CT-S1, is the Liano similar in feel or is it a little more like the PX-S3100? I have also found that even though the hundreds of sounds and rhythms were attractive when I researched, I find that I generally only use concert grand, stage and jazz piano voices, and none of the rhythms. Since the Liano weighs right in between the two Casios, I’m considering going to one piano, the Liano. What are your thoughts?
Great video review, Jeremy. There are drawbacks, but for the amazing price of $300, you could say, you get what you pay for regarding that, but for the positive points, you get way more than you pay for, especially the included software. Like I am fine with my CT-S1 and Go:Keys with the mini jack headphone output, I am fine with this for everything it is and has. I am not going to knock brands, even though they are not my preference, as Nord makes incredible instruments as does Korg. I am very impressed with their pro level SV-2 88 key stage piano that is several years old, not not dated in my opinion, but it costs up to about $2500 USD. This piano is another steal for the price and I want one and am seriously considering buying it, and the software is a great perk and incentive, as I plan to get an iPad Mini 6 256G in the near future, and the new Mac Mini with their brand new M2 Pro chips and a whole bunch of updates and upgrades later. I can now get a decent 88 key keyboard for home for my sister to play with the bread and butter sounds and key action and the software and such for my personal endeavors to have a very affordable 88 key digital piano to have at home to play and practice if I should ever get the RD 88 for church. Like Roland made that as my dream come true for a stage piano without me realizing they would build it, this would be perfect to have the 88 keys at home. This quality, sounds, features and capability was unheard of a few years ago, and even more so up to 10, 20, 30 or especially 40 years ago and for the price. I am probably going to watch this video again several times in the future.
@@JeremySee A little after your reply here, Roland released the FP-E50 for $999.99 to be in the sub $1000.00 category, and buy does it have an arsenal of goodies for the price. Hard to beat for it's sound quality, innovative features, and all it can do.
Thank you very much for this review, which came up inscrutably in my thread. I have been wondering whether I should get a piano or electronic keyboard. I would like a piano-like touch, but this might be just what I need. I would like to have a little music at my fingertips after decades without it. Again, thank you.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone of you guys that review this keyboard mentions how noisy the key bed is ! I like to play soft. All I hear is the clicking sound in the keys in it drives me crazy. It also ruins my recordings unless I recording direct into a recorder !! Open your ears Man
Awesome review @JeremySee! I'm super curious if the keys are "true" full size (164-165mm octave width) as opposed to most unweighted keyboards (Casiotone, PSR-E) which have narrower keys (159-160mm). And how does the main piano sound on the Liano compare to the PSR-EW425's main piano?

Jeremy I have a question, would you consider the Yamaha KX-8
Usb midi Keyboard Weighted 88 key in this best 88 key for under $300 ??
I may have a chance to get a used Yamaha (but in good condition) KX-8 usb midi keyboard weighted 88 key for $225-250. I would use it to learn piano, and also to play midi samples, tones, beats, off it with computer and/or midi synth hardware etc.
Do you think this keyboard would rank highly in your 88 Key midi keyboard for under $300 category even tho it is used?
Thanks, appreciate your channel and wisdom! 😊👍
does it come with a pedal?

dude that arrangement on the fly was so cool!
This is soo beautiful. I never played the Piano and I been interested to self learn.
And yes it is not very clear even looking physically at the reverb button whether the reverb is on or not.
can you amke the keys weighted?
This brotha playing "As the dear. at 3:18" lol Love it.
3:11
This feature is what I'm looking for
I noticed that you mentioned that the keyboard can use PA speakers, but wow, some of us can't rake up enough money for that. Terry
This is a wonderful review! I know what to do with my money now. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Your so awesome sir I will always watch your video ❤
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you Jeremy for your beautiful playing and thorough review. Would like to know with the audio out
isn't it possible to connect the Liano with RCA cables to a Phillips CD recorder. I saw somewhere that the
audio out could be used for several devices, including a recorder.
With an adaptor, you can.
@@JeremySee Thanks very much Jeremy. I don't know much about adaptors. Is there a specific one?
which one is better this or Yamaha P45? Also, can i use these both keyboards as MiDi controller for DAW?
Bought this, and I found pleasant specially when you are in earphones. 😁 Thanks for this review!
Informative and inspiring review... I finally got this one for me and my child... :D thanks, Mr. See! God Bless!
Glad it was helpful!
If this was an option, would've gone for this.
dont worry fp10 is better action
@@bowlvidya Hello to both, you and albert, so you confirm your piano is better? I am about to buiy and not sure which one to buy...
Thank you for the review Jeremy. I have a problem here. I cannot decide which is better: Yamaha PSR-E473 vs Casio CT-X800 vs Korg liano? Which one is better in your opinion? Price is very similar among them
Great job on Clair de lune, Jeremy! Very impressive!
The keys look hard though. As I checked Yamaha PSR 3000A, I am impressed with the softness of the keys,
I wish you would mention brand and model number in your title or description!! Your results don’t show up in RUclips searches for this reason. No need to keep it a mystery Jeremy :) just write the name and model!!
Great review, great value for the thanks for sharing.
Sir with a 20000 INR Budget which is the best
88keys
Weighted keys
Piano elec. Piano organ strings
(If possible harmonica and guitar)
Sustain and volume. Pedals
MIDI Out
If possible pitch bender
Yamaha korg roland or any other
No such thing in that range I'm afraid. Either you save up for Yamaha p45 or Casio s110. I'm currently finding one to buy in India too, secondhand market is none existant sadly 😔
Really excellent review. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
*thank you many times for your sharing your own abilities everyday*
🙏🙏❤
So nice of you
Awesome video Jeremy! Very happy you like the Liano.
Love your new EK vids that just dropped!
9:21 a simple USB cable, the same one we use with printers?
can you do a comparison between the korg liano and recital pro? those are the two i'm looking at
What exact model is this? Korg? Tnx 😊
Liano L1.
Great information and well done video. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Indeed buddy. We are spoilt for choices today. 😊
@@JeremySee A little after your reply here, Roland released the FP-E50 for $999.99 to be in the sub $1000.00 category, and buy does it have an arsenal of goodies for the price. Hard to beat for it's sound quality, innovative features, and all it can do.
Nice review! Does this piano have a split keyboard capability?
Great video, well done.
Nice to see you playing more technical piano stuff than you used too,👍
my man... nice to see you play:)))
Hey, thanks!
Thank you so much for your Brief explanation. Always the best 👌🏼
So nice of you
With your hands, I could have any piano... dream hands!
Thank you very much for this review, which came up inscrutably in my thread. I have been wondering whether I should get a piano or electronic keyboard. I would like a piano-like touch, but this might be just what I need. I would like to have a little music at my fingertips after decades without it. Again, thank you.
hmm. can i ask.. what is the name of the song for the Ballad song in this video? at 02:30 video clip
I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone of you guys that review this keyboard mentions how noisy the key bed is ! I like to play soft. All I hear is the clicking sound in the keys in it drives me crazy. It also ruins my recordings unless I recording direct into a recorder !! Open your ears Man
Good video❤ Is korg have as many expansions as yamaha? Prompt reply... Also korgs expansion pack costs more than Yamaha s crct!
Cool demo!
Did you get an answer for that?
The keys are normal length and the octave stretch is also standard
You don't even say the model name. Not even in the description
0:45 That is straight up the fairy fountain song from the legend of zelda...Didn't know they took it from there
Hey. Looking for an affordable keyboard. Really enjoyed the video! To use the "extra" sounds is a tablet connected via usb enough?
Yes
This is very thorough thank you. I've heard this is a very quiet keyboard - do you agree? What would you say is the quietest keyboard? Thanks
What is the name of that musical piece at 2:16 ?
better than casio cdp s110? similar price, and there's the roland fp10 for 400, im between them
Hearing Debussy sold me. Buying one.
How is this Korg Liano compared with NUX NPK 10?
Great playing, except during the pipe organ demo. Toccata and Fugue in D minor starts out with A-G-A, not A-G#-A.
