You find yourself in a particular location for a reason, perhaps a connection from your past life. In my case, despite being Thai and having studied in the UK for 12 years, I had never heard of Nan province until fate led me there, allowing me to rediscover who I was...
You're climbing the stairway to heaven that Led Zeppelin only imagined Petrena ! The affordability & simplicity of Thailand 🇹🇭 is definitely appealing. It's not quite " paradise " but it's close. 🌴 ⛱️
Pai is fantastic. It's the opposite of Canada, in that the weather is lovely, the culture is intact and thriving, the people arent stressed out, and it's affordable. Enjoy all of it :)
I went for a one month holiday to Chiang Mai in 2000 - 24 years later I am still here! Love Pai too! Rode my bicycle there first time in 2004. Wonderful.
We went to Pai in 2002. Planed to stay for 3-5 days but ended staying for 3 weeks. My one time best friend Jack stayed and built a home there. He wanted me to move there but I realized that the 3 hour trio to CM was too inconvenient. Haven’t been back in 10 years. But might go sometime, but afraid its changed so much. Still have friends there I’d like to visit. In 2005 the dam up river broke and flooded the town. Never was an official count of how many backpackers were swept away and were killed!
I'm Thai travelling to many places in the world but never been to Pai before!! ha ha ha The reason why I have to visit once is your clip. Have to see by my own eyes why you love this place a lot. You are a real Pai Ambassador to the world!!!
The main city itself is overran with European backpackers. Not a place to see the Thai people/culture, but the surrounding areas where tourist go are very nice up there.
Pai is at 19.4 degrees of earths latitude where most sacred sites are located. It is a very spiritual place, people get rejuvenated and disease free in these sacred sites
That steps upto White Buddha are nothing when compared to 3790 steps at Moon Mountain, Khao Wong Phrachan, in Lopburi province. There is a one month annual trek up the mountain to visit the temple in Feb each year, 24 hours with lights along the way at night. There are also food/drink vendors about 500 steps along the way.
Wow! Pai looks pretty nice. I just got back to Canada last week. I didn't make it to Pai but did stay in Chiang Mai for 5 days. I already wanna go back!!
I was in phuket....I was a workaholic ...going there I switched off !!........that place is magical...for the westerner the contrast is soo extreme that i saw people who went there tend to settle
Looks like a straightforward and peaceful way of life, a long way away from the chaos in the West with neoliberalism. The marriage proposal is still on the table either way.
Like so many wonderful small towns Pai has been over popularized by RUclips and social media and now it is more expensive and crowded ..If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem young travel vlogger! 555 It's all good , carry on and enjoy your time in Pai BTW Population of Pai went from 2200 people in 2008 to over 26,000 now in 2024 ....enjoy it while you can....see you also stayed at the 4000 baht + resort while there, quite the lifestyle for a young'un 😂 Yes I am jealous haha
Great video, thanks for sharing! Pai is on our list to see next visit. Just got home a week ago from Koh Samui, where the air quality was not great. How was the air in Pai when you were in the north.
Stay there through March and April before making any long term plans I strongly suggest. The smoke season is brutal. I live in Chiangmai but likely leaving for that reason
I spent a week in Pai in Dec'22. I think it's a great experience, but there were far too many pretentious, soap dodging, wannabe hippies there. The food there was 2nd only to Da Da café in Chiang Mai. Although one time I was daft enough to buy a burger from the street vendor on the main side street and it was appalling. But I still found Pai a totally beautiful existence.
IT GOOD TO HEAR YOU LIKE THAILAND. BUT, BE CAREFUL THE BAD GUY. YOU SHOULD HAVE SOMEBODY STAY WITH YOU OR GOING WITH YOU ALL THE TIMES. IT NOT ONLY THAILAND BUT EVERY WHERE. GOOD LUCK! FROM THAI GUY❤.
My groups of friends and I went to Pai said it doesn’t even feel like Thailand. It’s essentially a European tourist city that has Thai people working there with a cheap price for food. Even people don’t eat much Thai food there but western food. No culture in the city of Pai
I have just subscribed to your channel and now trying to go through your video one by one. Very lively and lovely. Just curious, how do you familiarize yourself in this tropical country where full of those pesticide, bugs and especially mosquitoes?
Thank you for subbing! I have traveled for so many years, I am just used to the different bugs and creatures. I don't really think too much about it. Unless I am getting bitten, then I do everything I can to prevent it.😊
It is smokey season now, I haven't been there during this season, as I am now traveling other places. But, I am used to smokey season in Canada, and it definitely changes things.
It definitely was how I felt when I was there, but I am too busy exploring the world at the moment to relocate Countries. I will absolutely back for a couple of months to enjoy the area at some point.😊
I cheated and drove my motorbike up to the top to see the white Buddha and try it’s coffee. But yes tons of things to do, very much geared to younger set.
Yeah that place is beautiful you can move that side if you can it's really stunning ❤️❤
It is so beautiful! Alas, I am not moving countries right now in my life. Just loving my time visiting them.😊❤️

Pai is the paradise and second home for all backpacker !!!
Everyplace in this country is always amazing and there's always a corner or two you'd land on and really want to make it home.
This is true!
You're climbing the stairway to heaven that Led Zeppelin only imagined Petrena ! The affordability & simplicity of Thailand 🇹🇭 is definitely appealing. It's not quite " paradise " but it's close. 🌴 ⛱️
It's pretty close! Definitely a stairway to a magical place.🙌☀️✨️💕

Pai is paradise for the western. They have various western food and I found great Panini sandwiches there. Yeah, I missed Pai

Everybody is doing a little thing for a little living. Nobody is thinking about dominating the world.

Indeed, it's very quiet and relaxing.
How is the burning season going? Walk About Wayne lives in CM but has headed sth to get away from the smoke, BUT its hotter and more humid down sth.
Welcome, I also stay in Pai 😊
I enjoyed this. Makes you want to go there to relax for a minute.
I'm Thai and we Welcome you to stay in Thailand.🙏❤️👍✌️🍻🍻
The summer of love never ended in Pai. But the road to Pai is rough.
All well and good selling up and moving to Thailand but be prepared for the heat.
Looks like a straightforward and peaceful way of life, a long way away from the chaos in the West with neoliberalism. The marriage proposal is still on the table either way.
I will still keep it in mind 😊✨️
Pai has that effect on so many 🙏🙏
You're welcome

I think I left just before the aie quality diminished in Pai.

Yes pye is cool.
เธอคงชอบธรรมชาตินะ..ขอให้มีความสุข..ในการเที่ยวในประเทศไทย....มาให้กำลังใจ
Think i drove past there on a motorbike in 1990, it was paddy fields plowed by buffalo then, no tourism 🤔
I wish you lots of happiness. You are so cute

Why do many people quit everything and move to Thailand now
Out of mind ,while many thai quit everything and move to aboard
@@HUNTER-qn5ff I would say most Thai's are not experienced just put it that way. One day, they too hopefully they would understand.
May be someone 's a smart ytb and just have sweet talked.😂

Lookin' Good Petrena*****
Great video, you have inspired me to go to Pai. ❤
A Gem to Love.
Maybe you mention it in another video but what is the cost to stay at that town?
thanks for these videos
I loved Pai, but you just don’t want to be there during the burn season. It’s brutal !
Exactly right. Funny how that never gets mentioned in the tourist brochures or by YT vloggers.
That's a good point. It was something I had intended on mentioning. If I was still there it would have to be mentioned as it has begun.
I want to come. What's the smoke like atm?
wonderful video! I heard that it is the smocky season there right now. does that sabotage the living experience there? thank you.
It is smokey season now, I haven't been there during this season, as I am now traveling other places. But, I am used to smokey season in Canada, and it definitely changes things.
Wow. You are just so HIGH FREQUENCY!
Thank you so much!! I work on it everyday.😊
🥰👏wowowow Good Video👍
Thank you 🤗
Next time I'm in Chiang Mai I will go to Pai. Are you really quitting everything and moving there ?
It definitely was how I felt when I was there, but I am too busy exploring the world at the moment to relocate Countries. I will absolutely back for a couple of months to enjoy the area at some point.😊
@@PetrenaSchell The title of the video is a bit misleading
Not to say that the video is not good because it was nicely done
I hope to travel there soon
Must be the foods I guess
I love Pai, especially steak and kidney, with mashed potatoes, peas, and gravy 😂
Welcome to thailand❤❤❤❤

It's so peaceful to see you...nice video petrena...you are amazing girl.... take care and i expecting your reply
Thank you so much! It's a beautiful place.💖
Hello you are from Canada correct? If so how easy was it to get a visa for 90 days in Thailand?
They give visa's for 60 days on arrival, if you want longer you will just need to get an extension at an immigration office.
please stay 🙂
Thank you!😊💕
