Yes, they are! I have seen these too. They look pretty cool. I actually accidentally bought one from an online auction without realizing that it was a 24" scale. It arrived damaged so the seller refunded me and didn't want it back. I used Bondo to fill the damaged areas and I've primed and painted the body. The neck is very nice. I had a custom pickguard made and will soon assemble it with a metal covered humbucker at the bridge and two single coils and a coil split. It should be a fun guitar. I like that it's a hard tail. Thanks for watching!
Yeah! What's going on with this? There are several listings and they've gone up in price and they continue to use incorrect pictures on the listing. This one with the cheap amp was just $260. I saw on Amazon it said "over 500 sold this month." That's not cool.
The two point trem is so nice, too, and so are the split tuners. I have those on a Strat and even though I bought upgraded tuners for it, they're too nice to take off.
So I contacted Austin's Bazaar after ordering one of these. They let me know that they checked it before sending and that it did indeed have 2 point trem, some previously had a 6 screw setup. They also did update the information to be a "debut" in the description "Debut Collection Stratocaster features..." I'll keep you all posted once mine comes in as I was just looking for a stupidly cheap Delonge body lol.
Yes, please do let me know when you receive it! I highly doubt that it will be a 2-point trem considering they added Debut to the description because the Debut features a 6-screw. But, I hope they did! If so, I'll order one. I checked the listings that I could find and none of them show "Debut" in the title and all still feature the Affinity photos with all the other differences still shown inaccurately. Thanks for watching and for commenting. I did just receive a surf green Strat body from GF, which was labeled as Daphne blue. haha
@ aw man haha yeah I was waiting for a Daphne blue to pop up on Amazon or Austin’s again and never saw one come back around. I’ll let you know once I get it. Yeah they changed it down in the description section. The photo appears to still show the affinity headstock and tuners which I called out as well, they pretty much said these were updated photos they had listed and that any gloss or out of spec guitar would’ve been an accident so no clue.
@@powerzup Yeah, I think AB is crap. It's a fulfillment company, not a musician-run (or music-centric) business like Fender. It's too bad that Fender deals with them.
Definitely not! It's so weird that they keep re-listing this guitar incorrectly, even though that apparently is not what they ship anyone who orders this. I spoke with customer service about this several times, and now they clearly know that their listings are inaccurate, yet they are doing nothing to correct it. It seems nearly like intentional (or at least known) deception. They probably figure that most of their buyers are parents purchasing gifts for their kids, who might not know what to check or look for. It's odd.
@@ScuttleProductions So, they won't let you return it? Or do you like it enough to keep it. Man, I had some weird dealings with them about two Leo Jamyz guitars (don't get me started on that). Something was definitely shady about that deal. Its well documented on my channel.
@@TedTalksGuitars I'll take a look! They did immediately offer a return, and I should have exchanged it for the bundle without the amp, but they also offered a small partial refund, which I think would save them money on shipping in both directions, and then having a pre-owned item to sell. They offered 15% and then tried to settle for 10%, so I ended up getting $29 back, which covers most of the increased cost of the amp. Luckily I got the original $200 deal for $190 (biz price), so I was OK with that. I'm curious about your story. I'll check it out. They seem to be a general fulfillment company, that manages some Amazon inventory for Fender.
For the cost, that is a great deal! I checked and couldn’t find them anymore on Amazon. You got a good deal. For the price you could easily upgrade it and have an amazing fiddle. Wish they were still, up. I prefer those smaller headstocks and the fretboard and surf green look great together.

With the teenie pre-CBS headstock and the 6 point trem and a matte finish, that is certainly a debut but in a new color. The Affinity's have a large headstock and a two-point trem. Squier has only done a matte finish on two guitars this century. The debuts and the Vintage 40th anniversary models of 2022. I'd return it. And I'd only buy this guitar if it were $119 like the other debuts, but then I hate surf green as much as I do black and sunburst.

And yeah, for real. The amp is not worth $50 by any means. The little rechargeable amps that are coming in starter packs now are way better. They're much more fun and sound pretty decent.
Nice video. Amazon UK are listing two Sonic Strats in limited colours: hardtail in a blue colour and HSS with trem in ultraviolet. No change on the Debut's on offer.
OOoh and how about the Debut Telecaster? We still really want it in the States. I'd love one. We should order and trade :) I can still get the blue and green Debuts as of right now.
Do you live in the UK? (Your accent would indicate "no".) I ask because the box lists Fender Musical Instruments Europe Ltd in the UK (East Grinstead, which is just outside London) as the business address. It looks like this guitar was originally intended to be sold in the UK market or maybe the EU market. If you are in the USA, then it is interesting that it found its way to you.

As you are unboxing the guitar and taking the inner box out of the outer box, one can see on the thin long sides (both of them) the address of Fender Europe in the UK. A good example of this can be seen at 1m18s in this video. Around this time, there are several moments where one can clearly see the address that seems to indicate that this product was meant for a UK or European market.
@@ScuttleProductions That's odd. I wonder why you are receiving guitars in the USA that appear to have been packaged for the UK or EU market. Who knows ? 🤷♀
I had a ultraviolet debut but the bridge wasnt lined up or the neck was twisted. The low E i had to bend up to get any notes after the twelth fret. The strings are shocking. The fretboard looks like paint. The pickguard is a scratch magnet, the pickups very tinny, I sent it back. Its no CV.

I think you got a sonic series strat. They're basically the same as the debut guitars. The amp and gig bag were probably thrown together with the guitar by the seller. Anytime Fender does a bundle like this, they put it all in a fender box with branded amp, gig bag, accessories, etc. I have a red debut and it's a great $120 guitar. I was actually just playing it. I think the sonic series guitars are just like the debut guitars just with more options for colors, pickup layouts, etc.
