    I completely agree Julie, about how the medical profession (with no disrespect) have not linked diastasis recti with back pain, pelvic floor dysfunction and c-section. Thank you for these great tips, good to know it's not just women are affected with diastasis rect too.

    It s really a good news for me.. i delivered my baby nine months ago through c sec... Even after several months my belly looks like 6 months pregnant.. I'm much worried about tummy which ultimately brings lower back ache..
    This video brings hope in me.. thanks @ madam Julie tupler..

    Thanks for this video, Julie! Great info! Your method brings hope! And oh so true that a diastasis can rear its ugly head later also, when you get older. That's what happened to me. So I'm giving the Tupler Technique a serious go now, and I'm looking forward to a smaller, flatter tummy, less back pain and more energy. Thanks for continuing to get this message out there!

      She’s correct. It’s a weakness in the muscle which puts a strain on your lower back and the alignment on your body is affected negatively. This also affects the pelvic floor which affects the bowel.

    I was diagnosed a few months ago with a fairly large DR, but only recently found your site. My physician suggested I would need surgery, but I’d like to try your approach first. You mentioned no exercise while starting the program - does that include activities like running or golf?

    1 million %
    I had pain all around my body, so I took a personal MRI for 800 euros. There were no lumps bumps or anything but luckily the Technician - not any of the doctors - commented I have Diastasis Recti - AND THIS EXPLAINED EVERYTHING including why my belly got bigger and I experienced more pain as I did heavier weights at the gym.
    Mine was caused by trauma back in 2007, so I now need an operation to fix it.

    From the photos and videos i have seen, the focus on diagnosis has been the wide vertical gap and having to measure this. Mine is above then navel and seems to be more of a bulge above the fold of skin that is above the navel, which I have to push in constantly because it sticks out. It is not huge but annoying and seems to be linked to my constant back pain. Am I a candidate who would benefit from this technique as well?

      Thank you. We are unable to speak on the any other belly banks/splints/binders specifically. Our binder is all about positioning. Most binders are for compression. Having the muscles and connective tissue close together is essential to getting a diastasis to close.

    Do we need the tape with the splint and the cream? I'm afraid I'll order the wrong size tape when I'm ready to give this a try. I'm afraid I'll measure wrong or something. Kind of grossed out to try, can't explain, like I want to know but don't. I have a feeling it's bad. I had twins and this was my final pregnancy after six pregnancies. Always bounced back to shape after each pregnancy but never the same after twins. I have painful bloating and posture. I spend most of my life at my desk and it's painful.
    Edited to add: Are pushups and plank type exercises out of the question too? If they are, will we ever be able to do these other types of exercises again in the future or no?

    • @pearlwatson3283
      @pearlwatson3283 5 лет назад

      Carmen I’m 55 years old. I ordered all 3. I had my children at 37 & 39 years old. I could tone everything on my body except my stomach. From my bra line to my naval, was 5 inches more. I did yoga for a year before I knew that plank, cobra, boat pose, downward facing dog is very bad for Diastasis Recti. I learned later that Pilates 100, being on hands & knees, sit-ups, and crunches are very bad for Diastasis Recti. Julie has an exercise video, etc that will help you. It’s helping me. The splint is so important. It really helped to flatten my stomach along with diet changes.

      We ask that people avoid exercises and activities that round/arch the back and are jariing to your already stretched out connective tissue and muscles at the start of our program. Once you develop some strength, certain activites and exercises can be resumed in a way that is "diasatsis-safe." This is why we like the use of an upright stationary bike.

    Julie, I have the splint in s and xs, but find breathing uncomfortable (I have severe reflux that predates the diastasis.) My separation is primarily low down on the abdomen/pelvis l, and goes up to the belly button.
    Also my torso is short, and I purchased the short version, but the splint keeps riding up to my upper abdomen, which increases my discomfort.
    And to the other ladies who commented, yes, doctors tend to be dismissive of attempts to correct without surgery, but in the same way that they receive very little training in nutrition, many don’t know much about diastasis either.

      Please have your physiotherapist contact me so I can explain how this program heals the connective tissue. It does strengthen the connective and many umbilical hernias have been reversed because if this. Our statistics show that if all 4 steps of the program are done, this program can make a Diastasis 55% smaller in six weeks even on people that have severe cases.

    How many weeks / months do you recommend wearing the binder?

    • @JulieTupler_Tupler_Technique
      @JulieTupler_Tupler_Technique  4 года назад +2

      Veronica it depends on the severity of your diastasis and your committment to all 4 steps of the program. Theh purpose of the program is to stregnthen your the weak connective tissue between your separated muscles. Your connective tissue needs to be strong enough to hold the muscles close together. It is the same with wearing a cast. You need to wear it until the bones have fused. The time varies according to a persons individual healing. So if you wear it all the time as well as do the other 3 steps of the program your progress will be alot faster.

    • @veenus8888

      @@veenus8888 Congrats on your birth. Most women check themselves incorrectly and find out that their diastasis is larger then they thought. The higher you come up when measuring the closer the muscles come together. Also, just wearing a splint will NOT close your diastasis. The purpose of the splint is to reposition both the separated muscles and the connective tissue inbetween the separated muscles. They need to be in the correct position so my Tupler Technique setaeed exercises are effective. The muscles have to be close together to move in the right direction. Front to back. I would recommend the package so you get the video, guidebook, splint and online support program. The online support is ongoing. NO termination date. There are weekly videos, tips and a monthly webinar where I answer everyones questions about the program. My website DiastasisRehab.com and then go to shop and then packages.
