Wow, 2 out of my 3 favorite ADV channels together. Really good work all 3 of you. Beautiful scenary. Looking forward to next episode. Maybe one day you come and try the TET Sweden 🇸🇪. Cheers from Sweden
Wow the adv power couple! DITR and BRM together! Dork, I’ve only watched the first 6 minutes but I gotta say your approach to this trip is exactly what is needed! I have a big adv and wanted to consider more BDR’s but man I’m no expert rider. I want easyish big bike friendly adventures. Thanks so so much for doing this, it is muchly needed!
Dork, you and Ian. Super Duper cool. Thank you for taking us along with you guys. Lots of laughs, and giggles, you sure can’t beat the camaraderie of you three. Looking forward to watching all the coming videos of your ride. How fun, enjoy life to the fullest on two wheels.
My friends and I did the BDR the week before and yes we had 3 days of sleet, snow and hail. I have done 8 other BDRs and I would put this in my top 3 for scenery, Also my opinion is they did a amazing job of laying out the sections very good flow with enjoyable street sections and two track. It is one I would do a second time for sure.
Ben, I did CA North about a week after you on my Honda CRF300L Rally. I did all the mods you did on yours including the essential Rally Raid Level 1 front and rear suspension. Bike performed flawlessly, just a tad slow on some of the pavement sections. Love your channel dude!
Good to hear that someone did this on the crf300l rally, I am planning on doing the route in September next year with my rally. I have to upgrade the suspension, seat concepts seat and ecu flash still.
I love the the Eastern Sierras it is absolutely beautiful terrain. I try to visit out there every year I was out there the week before, I nearly got caught out in that snowstorm you mentioned. Watching your vid gets me so excited for the future, I'm 25 and my dad and I are looking at getting ADV bikes to do some rides. I'm pushing him to try the NorCal BDR now!
I really enjoyed this episode. I like the side commentary about no Netflix, knocking over your camera because of channel competition, etc. The only thing that might be better is if one of you guys had a Triumph Tiger 900. 😁
Thanks Ben for that awesome video, love the panoramic views, stunning!! Nice to see that you took some company with you, hope they behaved. I think when you get to set up camp beside an awesome body of water that’s pretty cool camping. Looking forward to the next video thanks man.
@@ADV_AgendaSo far there is nothing that disappoints! How did that skid plate hold up? SW Motech makes one that covers the entire head. Difference is $100 between the two.
@dorkintheroad is cracking me up as a KTM fan boy now. I have to admit that I loved my 2020 790 Adventure and 2021 890 Adventure. I moved onto a R1250GSA then an Africa Twin. The 790/890 platform will always have a place in my heart. They are very capable bikes and put you in hooligan mindset. It looks like you are having fun on the trip. I am envious… this serious might be enough to make me find time in the schedule to ride it next season.
Have been anticipating this series since you announced it earlier this year. I live in Paradise, CA so the northern sections are in my backyard, relatively speaking. Great content with some of my favorite vloggers.
We tried to do some of the BDR from the middle but were in a group onmy crf300l and a KTM890with 4 jeeps but one broke down so we will try again, thanks for doing the regular route Ben!
That entire area is my favorite place I have been so far. The entire Mono, and Walker River Valleys. I have been camping up on Twin Lakes, at Annett's Mono Village Resort. It is just up Twin Lakes road out of Bridgeport. Bodi is another place that never gets old for me.
Great team, great views, great ride. It looked like a person with Matt Spears energy could ride an old Goldwing on that first day route. Thank you for sharing!
Great video. PLEASE later compare the 790 Adv with the 450RL - THE BDR KILLER. Also, how did the 790 compare with the 800DE, and X-Cape 650. I guess I'll see in Part 3.
I rode the first 5 sections on a KTM 890 solo. After only riding about 1500 miles ever in my life. I’m brand new to any type of motorcycle riding. I road alt hard but skipped all the expert routes. The very first section was hard for sure as is Verdi peak But didn’t drop the bike in those. Did on some of the other sections. Probably about 4-5 times in the actual route. Twice finding campsites. So so fun!!
You didn't miss much by skipping the main road up to Bodie, I did it a couple of years back and it was absolute washboard hell, I was afraid the glass was going to pop out of my truck.
Noice. Great video! Tore up my wrist on Sec 1, kept going through 4, then bailed and went home...On injured reserve still (this is becoming a common theme of late.) Oh well I'll hit it again next year and finish it. Thanks for sharing Ben. 👍
I appreciate this video. I'm not an expert rider. I hear people say "Oh, BDRs are easy. You'll be fine." But most moto vloggers only show the hard stuff and people getting airlifted out like it's a war zone. I want to get a feel for the normal route.
Flying eyes are legit! OK I’m gonna have to do this BDR but probably backwards so I’m riding towards home. Or we could ride the So Cal BDR to the Nor Cal BDR the hop over to the Nevada BDR and ride it back south. Hummmmm. Another great video.
Yep, I rode the regular route in an attempt to showcase the normal ride. I was also solo and the expert sections were not something I wanted to take on without help.
Thank you for the excellent and entertaining video. This route is on my agenda for the summer of 2025. I will be doing this solo on a Husky 701. I will be staying in motels at night. I would value and appreciate your opinion with 9 sections, I want to double on two sections. What two would you suggest I double up on? Thank you. Brent
The Suzuki and KTM shouldn’t have many problems. I’m really interested in how the Morini does. Selling them at my Guzzi dealer and they are priced low. Thinking about pulling the trigger.
@@akiuliano The Morini X-Cape is more capable than most people are giving it credit for. If it said Kawasaki KLR on the side it would be deemed the best adventure bike on the market for the money. IMO✌️
Have you made any suspension modifications? I'm eager to see how the 790 performs on a long trip since I just bought one and want to do the WaBDR next spring or fall.
I'm planning my first BDR sometime next year. Should have a bike early 2025 and then the next 4 months or so will be as much travelling in my state as possible and then I'm thinking roughly September of 2025 make a play for the Colorado BDR. Who wants to meet me there?

Two of the best, Dork and Ian! Great to see the collaboration.
One of your best videos yet. Makes me want to head to California and try it.
the fly eyes commercial was legit solid testimonial, hope you’re getting $$$$

Some beautiful views and a “close en-cow-nter”! You, sir, have the dad jokes!

That quick draw tho!
Looking forward to the series!
Looks like a pretty good day you had good weather anyway
Defiantly a very very cool route with the ghost town and the lake seemed fun

As long as you don't mind a few spots with deep sand, it's totally Goldwing-able

Clint Eastwood? Heck you rode by the 'High Plains Drifter' set. (The red painted town... now long removed.)
Great video and narration quality.
We just did sections 4 &5 last weekend. Lot of treess down but overall a great ride.
