It would be insane to get another kurt album. I loved him with DGD, he added a certain swagger. It seemed like the songs had some sort of a sexy feel to them, i dig that. Plus with johns current vocals it would be awesome
DGD with Kurt will always just stand a level much higher than all other DGD eras for me. Kurt is just a different vocalist/writer and presence with DGD
I agree. Seems like there a lot of tillian fanboys out there unfortunately. I feel like all their new stuff is formulaic and tilians voice is just too high pitched in my opinion. Kurt albums is the apitome of post hardcore and had a nice funky vibe to them.
imo most kurt songs are super boring. there are the hits and good songs ofc. My favorite most listenable era is jonny. by far. I enjoy tillian too. kurt probably least favorite.
@@johnsylvester3374 DGD was never the standard of post hardcore, at least back in the day when their was competition. Underoath, At the Drive In, Senses Fail, Saosin, Finch, Thursday were all better back in the early 2000s. The Tillian era really made some cool changes that made them relavent today. Jonny Craig was the best era of DGD though, a proper band with a lead singer who had pipes.
His voice would fit so well with Andrews as well, love to see them have a dual main vocalist trade off. Plus some of my favorite main vocalist/ jon mess mashups comes from the Death Star album
Who knows if we'd have royal coda if he'd stayed with DGD though! I'm just glad he's having such a good time making music he is absolutely killing it on everything he touches.
I'm incredibly jealous you got to witness this show let alone got to film some of it too! Wish I could've been there but I was on tour :( Thank you for this really special upload!
@@EETFVKDIE well yeah maybe it was in drop d but they definitely dropped the whole tuning is what I'm saying. It's like whole step down it seems. At least half of step down for sure.
Might also be because neither of these vocalists can hit live highs like Tillian does. He is such a strong frontman live, even though I love both these guys and Jonny.
Also, I love Tilian's voice and his singing ability is godly, but I just can't stand his vocals on any DGD song pre-Tilian, except maybe DBM2 songs, but everything else is just so mehh and cringey when Tilian adds his higher vocals to Johnny and Kurt songs
Lets be honest. DGD can take their time with the next move... maybe let's make a secret band album that would be awesome... and a throw back tour with jonny and kurt? half and half play all the hits. do some fan service. then go from there... honestly. I don't know where the band will go and I am going to be fine with any direction. tillian coming back probably my most favored at this time.. if it was a fantasy jonny.. that will never happen... least favorite option is andrew taking lead.
Could you elaborate on why Andrew, which is an incredible vocalist, taking the lead clean vocal role is your least favorite option? Not dissing you or anything. I'm just curious. I know that maybe it's because you simply think he wouldn't be such a great fit for the actual sound of DGD.
@@adecakaship2486 I absolutely LOVED eidola huge fan. then I saw them live and he couldn't hit a single note. it was brutal. makes me wonder if he can handle tour schedules like DGD. Tillian has his own issues too but overall I'm not sold on his sound for the band moving forward. he could prove me wrong. just the least excited for that outcome. He is excellent on recorded vocals.
Look, if Kurt doesn't come back this band will no longer suffice. They've already left him in the dust in the past so if I were him I would say no right away. Andrew is mid and Tilian is a.f.k. until further notice. I just can't care for it anymore with Andrew as the singer. It's too chip chop with him as the singer. He switches between low and high at the wrong times. I don't care for it and maybe DGD needs the singer from Hail The Sun. He's the only person I can think of to take the spot and actually make it sound new and/or at least f-ing good!
You should listen to the episode of lead singer syndrome with kurt on it. The guy was smoking/ partying not really taking singing seriously when he was I. DGD. To the point where he just wasn’t cutting it on live performances (by his own admission), his voice was messed up because he was chain smoking. He said they never really told him he wasn’t in the band anymore, but he himself knew what was going on with JC and knew that it was likely his own fault.
DGD is more than a singer so I think this is a pretty bad take. It would be cool if DGD got Kurt back, but Kurt is kinda making moves with his solo career, Royal Coda, and OTHER side projects. Not to mention Kurt STRUGGLES live - years of chain smoking will do that. DGD will literally be fine if they don't get Kurt back. DGD is the biggest they have ever been - it will be interesting to see their next album because on their socials they already confirmed they're doing another album after Juicer regardless of who the clean vocalist is.
Also, I really doubt Donovan Melero (HTS singer/drummer) would be a good fit for DGD. He is PERFECT in HTS and his multiple other side projects - I can't see Donny singing with DGD No hate on Donny, follow all these bands for more or less a decade lol Donovan needs to keep slaying with HTS
@@thesinstar Kurt, like Tilian, struggles live big time. Tilian gets tour fatigue HARD - seen him multiple times. But when he hits, he fucking NAILS it. @@thesinstar It’s good that he admits to it in retrospect. I remember seeing DGD in 2009 or 2010, after Jon had left, and it stands to this day as the worst performance I’ve ever seen a band give (and I’ve seen a lot of shitty local acts). They were so clearly on the edge of breaking up completely.
Idk why they didn’t have Kurt just run this tour when till was our. Wells is a terrible live performer and is a disgrace to the band. Dudes totally out of his element
The first verse of this song is literally undefeated everyone knows that feeling

The quality of this video is amazing. You can see and hear everything perfect. What a performance from the band on top of it too
this is genuinely one of the best concert recordings ive ever seen, i keep coming back to it
DGD might be the only band where seeing 3 vocalists on stage is quite reasonable. Brilliant recording, thank you for sharing.
The crowd is insane. Beautiful energy throughout the performance. 🖤
This crowd makes this an all time classic recording, thank you!
Kurt will always be my favorite
That look, followed by the thumbs up from Jon Mess at 4:04 sums this up pretty perfectly.
