More likely is that, in the several hours of filming that were edited down to make this half-hour show, Bardem did not make as many interesting contributions to the conversation as the other three guests. Actors are often very shy, believe it or not.

I think it makes no sense. If it was to put him aside, so what's the point of inviting him to the show? They could have only the Coen Bros and Brolin. Why is Javier there if he's not allowed to speak? Just for us to look at his "pretty" face? He could be absent like Tommy Lee.
