Great work, I love that your power runs through the mount in that way, very clean work. 👌

Very nice job cable management is my nemesis & I've never managed to get it right.

Yes it’s something that has always spiked my OCD, and feel like I am finally happy with it and so the whole rig can be lifted off with minimum effort and fuss

Pretty sophisticated. I have to tear down and build everything up every night so I don’t have time for cable management. I am thinking of getting a Pegasus saddle to replace my eq6r standard saddle. But still need a usb cable from the mini-pc to the saddle and 12V power cable from my Bluetti.

Thanks for the comments, yes I realise what I have is a permanent set up, which makes it easier, but also if I had to build it every night it would be cabled just the same as it all lifts off in one unit, but I also realise that other mounts are different and don’t allow through the mint cabling and don’t have fixed power port and `uSB port…just wanted to give some ideas…👍🏻

Hey Stewart! Another great video! you have a very clean rig! I also have more than one scope that I put on my mount. I use a Paramount MyT and use it for my Esprit 120 and EdgeHD11. since I swap them out I like to have everything tucked in and tidied up so that I only have to unplug power and PC USB to swap. My question is this, I also have the Deep Sky Dad Flat Panel which initially I plugged in to a Pegasus Pocket Power Advanced but Ascom kept losing it. Pavle says in the directions for the device to not use a hub, to plug directly into the PC but i did not want to run another through wire in my mount as I feel like too many cables through the mount can also make it bind. I went ahead and did it and it worked. No more problems. I'm curious if having yours plugged into a hub has caused any problems and if there is something in ASCOM or in the PC's device manager that you have done to mitigate this problem. If so I will pull that third cable out of my mount. Thanks again for the video! Oh and in case it's relevant, I run NINA on a MeLE overclock, a ZWOASI2600MM, ZWO 7X2" EFW with Astronomik SHOLRGB filters, a Moonlite WR35 Nitecrawler focuser and rotator, ASI220MM guidecam on a william optics 50mm uniguide. Also as mentioned before a Paramount MyT mount, Esprit 120mm scope and a Pegasus PPBA hub.

Hello, and thanks for the comment, much appreciated
Hmmm on the deep sky dad panel issue, I have had 2 of these over the last 3 years for 2 scopes, and always had them plugged into a USB hub on my Pegasus UPB, and also powered from it too with no issue. BUT with my first one I had it plugged into the always on 12v power port on the UPB, and that did cause issues with my mini PC not booting up, when I moved it to the normal 12v power ports it was fine, but other than that all good. I must admit I have not heard anyone saying about not using a USB hub, although it does need to be a powered hub.
Nice kit you have there by the way…👍🏻

Very useful video. Would have been good to see some actual cable cutting etc as this what puts me off as not very handy with things like that

Hello and thanks for the comments
Yes I did think about showing the cutting and shortening of my power cables and also I have done some USB too bit they are a bit more tricky and I tend to just source them the right length 👍

Very useful video Stuart! Really like your cable management! Do you have an issue with the dew shield on your Esprit 100 being floppy? My 120 is notoriously known for a floppy dew shield! Wondered how that might affect the flat panel (which is another great idea!) I like the CEM mounts, I very nearly bought a CEM120 a couple of weeks ago, but couldn’t justify the money just sitting there as I don’t have a scope that the EQ6R pro can’t handle, and I’m wanting to build a third rig, which that money would easily do! Nice one mate! Clear skies 👍

      Thanks Simon.
The 100 dew shield is not great but no where near as bad as the 120, also i have a really long dovetail on the bottom which the dew shield with the dew strap wrapped around, rests on, which stops any potential movement of it, it’s rock solid with that, and so the flats panel is fine.
It makes taking flats a breeze TBH
Yes I would like the CEM120 too, but this came up second hand from a guy who bought it and never even took out of the case, he had it for nine months, and then decided to sell, so was still new and under warranty, and was a great price, could not resist.
      Clear skies pal..👍🏻

@@SimonsAstro I know of people who have removed the dew shield on the 120 and wrapped some foam tape or the softer side of Velcro sticky backed tape around the tube underneath and then it’s tightened it up
Pretty easy to do I think…if I had, had those issues with mine, I had planned to do this…👍🏻
