Surprised you did not compare it to the v281. Is it not to that that level? The V281 is the amp I want but not easy to find, anything else you could recommend that matches or exceeds that amp.
Good match for a LCD-2? I lean towards a punchy sound with controlled treble.Looking at getting a Violectric v200,had one in the passed and really enjoyed it with the LCD-2,but would consider this if it sounds comparable to the v200?
Regarding the unbalanced DAC drought, What do you think of the balanced to unbalanced converters? Many say there is no unbalanced sound quality degradation.
They should make a line of DACs as well. Pure SE designs to match the Bacillus, Bacillus Tilia, and Perfidus, and then a really nice high-end balanced DAC. And name they should also have holy-themed names.
Much prefer single ended, but then I use Chord dac/s that use single ended output. Anyway, good review of a lesser known amp, shame they don't give the output power.
Probably. It did so to varying degrees for the other Hifimans I tried on it. I don't have Arya on hand but the results from its siblings suggest it as a likely outcome.
I'm crazy interested in a comparison with Lehmannaudio Linear II with Perfidus. It's also single-ended and in some parts of Europe it's a kind of reference. AKG and Sennheiser were presenting some of their stuff on Lehmannaudio amps in the past, it's also quite popular in the studio environment, though there are opinions that Lehmannaudio stuff is overpriced.
From the sound rich/dark characteristics you describe, it sounds like a great pairing for those particular planars which are thin with bright detail. Am I right?

I think so. At minimum it controls treble well and makes bright headphones less fatiguing.
Sounds like it would pair well with the Hugo 2?
