a few weeks ago i was starting to get bored in multiplayer, and then i decided to look through all of the weapons and i started playing weapons that i literally have no kills with and its so much fun to learn things like mozambique and epg
want to add my grain of sand to the conversation saying that meta mentalities in general are a bad thing for yourself, being hyper meta or off meta and i will use myself as example. i had the idea i need to win with off meta using this weapon no one uses that is clearly worse than the others weapons or i am less than others and everyone that uses the meta is a skilless cheater despite meta guns like the C.A.R or R-97 still needing skill to be used, so i ended being mad all the time and not enjoying the game cuz i was busy complaining, and this mentality only made worse at game cuz i refused to understand the meta and rather be a crybaby, for example a i was trying to make the mastiff work and get killed by a camper what did i do? cry. when i could have easily put on cloak and a cold war and kill the camper, but i refused to do so because 1. cloak is meta 2.the cold war is a good weapon and winning with that makes me less cool than the camper. In the end i shifted overtime thanks to a personal challenge to a fun rather than worth mentality, now i use that exact cloak + cold war combo (is broken imo) because is good and also unkown so it feels new and fun, and when i get killed by a really god C.A.R main i no longer cry about it, i just say "damn that dude got hands", and now i have fun and don't worry for dumb things
You just opened my eyes, thank you. Tho i'll admit this is rather complicated when i wait 30min to find a game only to get destroyed by a full team of CAR mains while being a team of 3. I honestly don't know how to focus on something else in such situations but i'll try i guess.
Thank you for saving me from that awful mentality, as I will no longer attempt to do well unless my team is being used as peanut butter on the enemy team's french titan toast
Personally I enjoy trying new load outs a lot. It gives me a chance to level up more weapons and I get an experience that is a lot different from the weapon pilot and titan I main.
Holy hell mate... this was an eye openers. I would usually forget that im playing against others, well people new or old. we all just wanna have fun don't we? but i would get angry if someone is using a meta weapon and not letting me at the top of the leaderbord. so next game i would completely dominant the enemy, and not letting them have fun. im pretty good with every weapon and have taken the time to learn them but forgot how difficult it was. i was scared of not being top 3... i didn't wanna have less than 20 pilot kills. i felt like my teammates would call me useless if i didn't. and if i get angry? ill just let it out on my desk lmao. but, no one cares. just have fun. thanks mate for this video ❤

I've been trying out new weapons recently, although tbf my aim most of the time is complete dogshit so I only actually get anywhere by sometimes remembering to do movement mechanics. Zooming around the map with a short-ranged spitfire (aims too bad to acc camp with it lmao) combined with going to scorch instead of my main northstar actually got me (what for me is) a decent game in terms of kills. Do find that it can be annoying, moreso because my frames atm are real shit because tech issues but also the inconsistency of Scorch where I seem to just randomly lose half my health in a second (also I've seen like 5x as many nuke ejects since I've been maining him recently istg). Mostly fun though, a lot of the guns in titanfall have a lot of charm to them.
I started using the CAR the other day. I had only ever fired 1 shot though it before in MP. I tried it out for about 20 minutes and confirmed it's broken. I felt dirty and went back to the EPG. I don’t get as many kills with it but nailing that guy who's wall running is so satisfying.
I love the grenad launchers. They are all so cool and unique. Most ways I die is from getting sprayed by whatever gun and that's no fun, so I only play titan games.
RUclips algorithm showed me a titanfal 2 vid for the first time and a good one too! i started to play about 2 weeks ago and barely understand what's happening, im too scared of certain gamemodes, i want to enjoy the using my titan and try to have fun, i haven't tried all titans yet but i found Scorch really fun. But everytime i pick up my titan i get demolished instantly falling into a loop of being harassed as soon as i spawn with a player or two s*** talking me on chat. Im loving the game but i feel i cannot fully enjoy it due to obvious skill gap (and a bad actor or two) Anyways love you're vid, gained a new subscriber, hope i learn a thing or two watching you
I play a lot of holopilot recently and I always pick some weapon that I want to master or an active Awall play style. It’s fun to see CAR grapple mains struggle with some stupid holopilot with g2. I currently try to level up weapons for cool banners.
I started playing around a year ago when the servers were fucked, so i only played frontier defence. And i had a lot more freedom to play what ever guns i liked, since i didn't have to be that good with them, with the opponents being nots and all, and the softball stuck with me (pun intended. and when the servers were fixed, i got to finally play against real players, and oh boy is it a different experience, sure my aim was good and my movement was solid but most of the time the best i could do was stick them with a softball and watch as they died after i did, then i started using holo pilot, it was the most fun i ever had in a video game. The adrenaline from completely fooling an enemy pilot and sticking that mid air softball is still the best, right along melting an enemy titans face off with scorche's flame shield. i'd say i'm in the "playing for fun" camp and my good god has it been fun. Anyhow, keep grinding pilots, perfect your own playstyle and remember to have fun on the way❤
Just came back to the game after six years and am getting my cheerio pushed in pretty bad most games 😅 However, I’m still having a ton of fun playing again. This is one of my all-time favorite games.
i honestly never get some player's mentality of "meta cant be fun" or "meta is boring". i see people seething so much whenever i have a good run with stim/phase + CAR in public games. the thing is: i love tracking weapons. that's why i use volt, r97, car, r101, spitties all the time because weapons where i can track good on people is what fires my neurons. i found "fun" guns like EPG, CW, and softball boring because they had no good damage feedback on them and i would genuinely just rather play RL / GL on team fortress 2 or quake live. other "fun" weapon like wingman, kraber, mastiffs are overly reliant on flicks if you dont want to be campy but then again if i want to play a flicking game i'd rather just play counter strike 2. meta CAN be fun. i love watching people with good tracking aim plays CAR and Volt in public matches. this game is nearly a decade old. just learn to have fun without caring about winning or losing
I agree with you Re3ch, I play on console (I also join your network) most 100 g just sweat there ball of for one game and it make new player to not have fun and could make them join the dark side by using the spitfire. Any way great video man👍

I wanna discuss how I play, and I wanna hear if this is fair: I main holopilot and cloak. I typically use weapons such as the Cold War, attempt to use the Kraber, and also use the Volt. I main the Ogre class titans, with my hours on Scorch being greater than Legion, but as of recent, I’ve been doing a lot of Legion. When using Legion, I’ve been massacring Northstars primarily, and assisting other titans, on the other side of the map. The kit I run is usually either battery pack or ticks, but if I use ticks, I deploy them asap. Do you think I’m being fair with my playstyle of fun?
I mean fair enough, play the game that you paid for how you want. But I have noticed that the people who stick to the meta no matter what are typically chronically addicted to gaming to a point where they don't do anything with their lives. It's not healthy. You'll notice that the meta gamers are usually the ones absolutely losing it in chat after they lose. It's because they value winning over having fun.
I use meta and I don't care losing, because I know it doesn't depend on just me, with being in the top 3 is enough to me, which I am 90% of matches even when I use off meta weapons
people that says meta and fun can't go together are some crybabies, some days ago I got 50 kills with Eva-8 which I consider meta and it was the most fun I had in months

Me a G7 with 200 hours. And i STILL havent gotten every weapen to G2 so currently im leveling up every weapen. And its REALLY FUN.

I have a lot of fun with my EPG and my Stim along with my Scorch
I got 100 points in Attrition and about 14~20 kills and 3~5 titans eliminated, and that's it, I'm happy
