A game like this except just doing all the cases + constantly getting updates with new suspects would be such a fun casual game. I would play it all the time.
There's an investigator mode where you can't die and you just solve the cases

@@christinaanamaria It become a crime solving simulator basically. Solving all the cases in the game, which are 100+ cases. So you’ll spend a lot of time solving them and if you fail some, then you can try to get all correct if you want to.
Hell, they could just allow players to add their own and it'd be great. Maybe limiting it to those who beat the game to avoid too much stupidity.
Considering how similar the investigation portion is to Papers Please (just add in Welcome to the Game hacks essentially), they could easily follow along with that game's approach and just randomly generate character names and stories (stories would be harder, either AI based, or far more likely mad-lib story templates where they can swap out key details as needed), and have you determine innocence by going through the files that way. It would be complex, most definitely, but I'm sure not impossible. Then also have a small handful of preset stories mixed in, of course.
It is so entertaining hearing you confidently go "Oh I remember this person! They're turbo guilty. They have like 8 dead bodies in their photos"
And every time the person is totally innocent lol

The problem with the coprophiliac wasn't his eating habits...in one of his texts he was talking about getting the stuff straight from the source, so-to-speak, and in a roundabout way he was talking about murdering a young woman to get it. He seemed to have already picked a target, too. That's why he was guilty, not his obsession but the lengths he'd go to in order to get his 'fix'.

he's is so caught up in his speedrun methods, past experiences, and telling chat they don't know what their talking about he misses out on easy clues like the arsonist and the coprophiliac, like all he had to do is just read for two seconds and that would become clear to him why these two were guilty haha
That's the reason why I usually can't stand live LPs. More often than not the LPer looks at the chat while playing the game instead of playing the game while looking at the chat if you know what I mean... For some reason that extremely triggers my Asperger's.@@brewsive
Man oh man, what a blast from the past. Your Scrutinized runs were literally the things that I initially found your channel through. I was just wondering if you'd be playing this game again since you'd been doing many older games like WTTG and WTTG2 recently, quite happy to see this game show up in my sub feed.
This game always left a sour taste in my mouth cuz of how the dev acted around it.. Shaming and trolling people and considering making an OnlyFans for the villain because he got an army of simps. (Totally wasn't eating up all the attention since it resembled himself slightly.)
But watching you play it was a fun way to consume the game that I couldn't get myself to buy. Thanks as always for the uploads and Happy Streaming Anniversary!
The dev gives me massive “ick” in general. It just seems so self centered the way he manages to insert himself as a character into every. Single. Game. Also his refusal to talk about rides with strangers and deleting comments and blocking people for asking about the development progress was so shady.

@annaf2091 He also publicly dragged someone hating on him, sent his followers after them and then made a post saying they learned their lesson and he was gonna delete the posts about them to close it out, as if it wasn't just hiding evidence.
Mind you, the person hating on him was dead wrong in their reasons.. his response was worse.
Add to that his trolling backdoor in WTTG2 and the way he reacted to Insym taking too long to play his multilayer game.. oh and the way he fixes speedrun bugs but never actually game breaking bugs...

@@Artizap_ yep. After literal YEARS of ignoring and blocking anyone who asked about it while also using kickstarter to raise funds for the game. Years of ignoring and blocking people who wanted to know about the progress of a game they had donated their own money to help develop. His response was too little too late.

tbf on why people either drop it or play on casual: the problem isn't just that it's difficult, the problem is that it sometimes gets difficult to the point of being tedious.
it's like, as an example: let's say you have a game in which every 10 minutes a dice roll is what decides whether you die or not, if you can't influence the roll then that's a crap mechanic, you can do everything right and still die. just needing to be lucky is not a fun mechanic.
but let's say you need to bring a chicken to the dice roll table and sacrifice it to ensure a good result. then it's your own choice to either have a random result and risk it, or to bring a chicken. it gives agency for a player to know that it's their own fault, and not just a random timer/roll that fucked them up. just getting unlucky is not a fun way to lose a game.
the amount of chickens can also be a mechanic to limit run time of a single gameplay session, a roll every 10 minutes and you only have 6 chickens, then you can limit gameplay to a bit over an hour, and depending on your luck, you could get a bit of extra time to finish up, which turns it into a possible clutch mechanic which can actually feel rewarding.
Like how 'welcome to the game' also has a few tedious things cause there's so many different mechanics that can kill you (lucas, noir, kidnapper,breather,...) , but it doesn't always teach you how to work with them. and not everyone enjoys going to the wiki to investigate. giving some pointers and hints, either in game in a page, or in a hint on the deathscreen, will give the player a way to progress without having to study the wiki to learn how to play.
The dollmaker is a very good example of a possible improvement to increase player agency, most people make the link that he'll only show up after checking his site. but let's say you want to give the players more agency on easy mode: just add a "tracking bar" at the top of the dollmaker page, or give it a pop-up that says 'I found you' which is a more clear indicator to teach people that he'll only shows up after you visit the page. and give the page link a recognizable format, if people figure out the format they can use that to actively avoid the dollmaker page. putting the agency back into the hands of the player, rather than in the hands of RNG. (I know, not the best example, but it's just an example to hopefully illustrate what I mean)
don't get me wrong, I love these types of games, they're really well done and are really good at building the atmosphere. I'm just spitballing here as to why I think they have a limited playerbase. I heard a lot of people love watching let's plays of them but hate playing them, and I think this fine line between difficult and tedious might be the issue here. regularly making a death feel more like a bad roll of the dice rather than a mistake the player made. leading to having to restart and do the early game all over again.
At one point I had 25 cats living 8n my house!!! A friend's wife kept taking in kittens while he was at work and they never got them spayed or neutered, sooooo....they had A LOT of cats!!! And she didn't clean their litter ever. She never cleaned their water bowls, and couldn't be bothered to even pour dry food in the bowls.. So I volunteered to take the females and babies (they only had 3 unfixed adult males) and find them homes!! I only had 4 litter boxes, yet they were cleaned at least once a day. Everyone was well fed, they all got wet food once a day and access to dry food all day. They all found homes!!! Besides the one calico girl I kept...my Violet 💜
Insym, I lived in a house with this exact floor plan. Creepy seeing your old house in a horror game. By the way the old owner died in the house as well.

This leaked footage of the pre-alpha build of Welcome to the Game 3 is great! It even still has the code name for it.
Although the developers should be careful as the name could be confused with the 2020 game Scrutinized.
The disappointment is palpable
I remember that you said this got age restricted.

2:15:00 My mother's friend had 11 cats. She's lost about 4 since I last saw all 11. She greatly cared for all of them. They were family. She stayed at our house for a few days as she was moving from one state to another. She's still doing well as far as I know
I have five and they're so well behaved. They hang out together and sleep all day lol. Honestly I found having just one to be more work because they want your attention. And my situation is weird, people came to me to rescue cats in dire straits.
Congrats on 5 Years of Streaming and 700k subs, I started watching you and immediately subscribed in late 2020 when phasmo launched cuz I needed tutorials on how to play it lol. I remember you having around 30-35k subscribers at that time. Everyone enjoyed watching you do insane tricks with those ghosts and dying instantly. I still remember those old colorful sweaters of yours lol. Good luck and keep entertaining us.

I would try this game but without jump scares. Looks like a lot of fun but the horror aspect keeps me from actually playing

If you like the concept, there is another interesting game in the same direction, with you as a "watchdog": "Orwell: Keeping an Eye On You" you can see, maybe it fits your taste, it's available on steam for.... 7 years? Shit I'm getting old...

ive figured it out. all the doors and windows are locked and Tanner is still able to get in to do his fruity little peek around the corner before hiding in the closet. Hes getting in through the toilet. just crawling up the pipes

I remember that cutscene. I was so hyped of this game. Then this cutscene came and didn't want to end... so i fell asleep. Knowing that after that still awaits a tutorial i was tired. And like that all the hype was gone.
The glitch at around 1:10:00 was probably because you sat down while the screen fated to black.

I resent that this is titled WTTG3 (I get it, it gets views and speaks to what people know)
But this game was a lot of...fun...when it came out
I personally kept notes on every single suspect with the intent to beat normal mode, but I've never made the plunge. I have all achievements except no jumpscares, normal, and nightmare. Wow...69 hours played, that's crazy.
Last played date is my birthday, 8/15/2020, same day as a "giga nerf" patch haha

when insym first mentioned the amount of nights in nightmare mode I thought he said forty (40) instead of fourteen (14) and i did not realize i misheard it until he showed the difficulties right at the end. 40 nights would be absolutely insane

I don't think you realise how many of them record them selves and their crimes. As if they are proud of it, or simply stupid.

I kinda like the idea of it. It's like Welcome to the Game + Papers Please. If only it wasn't as hard as it is, I'd definitely give it a try, but I'm not into games that I have to stress over every little detail the whole time.
I wish that they had "noob" modes of this, WttG, Cyberrat, etc to get a hang of how to play the game without the threats. But that's just me because I'm a total baby 😂

That's basically the exact opposite of difficulty.
RNG isn't a skill thing, making your game rely on it doesn't make it difficult, it makes it quite literally a game of chance.
@@llamaczechI meant that the game puts you in such a ridiculous time crunch (i.e., having to constantly check for the kidnapper while being expected to solves tons of suspicious person reports) that you end up having to shred reports without even going through them, all in order to meet the nightly quota. All you can do is hope that at least some of the reports you’re shredding are about innocent people and that you don’t exceed your allotted number of mistakes.
@desiderata954 yeah, the roster of suspects you get is what dictates the length of your run, which is literally up to RNG.
Making your speed runs a game of chance, a good run is getting lucky and having more suspects you can shred.
the noise suppression just cuts off when you laugh really loud, it's not that noticeable but it's still there
