2:32 I had to pause and applaud here. Thank you once again for another great lesson Sergio. In this video you show everyone that the "film look" is made with study, preparation, purpose, reference, trial and error, and not some automatic LUT. Just buying the most expensive blackmagic or sony camera won´t turn you into a Roger Deakins overnight.
Excellent tutorial and video, I found it very useful, so many great tips in your workflow for this Hollywood Masterpiece and Masterclass, thank you Sergio
Amazing as usual, real pro. Even though it looks like even too much, or it would deserves some extra explanations, i got lost starting from hsl hsv nodes, and also the step before qualifying the skin. For the sake of your couple happiness, i would have skipped the comment on your wife age :D . Keep on your amazing work !!!!
Thank you!! I know.... I couldn't go deeper with some details because otherwise the video would have lasted more than 20 minutes. And yes... my wife was not very happy with my comment 🤣
Dang it. Lucky me the "professional" footage I need to grade is so bad, that I don't need to go down that rabbit hole 😂 Thank you for sharing this workflow.
Thanks so much!! About 20 years ago before working as Director I worked as Colorist for a lot of Music Videos in Italy. In that time we could only use primaries, curves and power windows. Now times are changed and Davinci offers powerful tools to color grading.
@@russo-filmmaking Oh, now I know how you get such a professional result. I hope something similar is possible for amateurs too. Anyways, keep doing these videos! You deserve a larger audience
Thanks!! In fact even if in the video it's not explained in order to do not make it longer, I extrapolate the color palette from the reference still and I tried to recreate it with my workflow.
This video clearly proves that YOUR CRAFT not GEARS that matters. We can rave about and spend heavily on new gears but what is the level of craft/skill to use them justifiably? Give this guy an EOS M and give someone with less craft an ARRI Alexa let's see who turns in a wow result. Let's develop our craft with what we have and ditch the new gear syndrome.
Watch the part 1 in which I break down how I lighted and filmed the scene ruclips.net/video/L9FAwi-qDrs/видео.html
The best film grade I have seen. I also like the fact that you used your own footage shot on a consumer camera... I am sold. Am subscribing.
Thank you so much!! I'ill try not to disappoint with my next videos

@@russo-filmmaking thank you for once again proving that a professional takes time to become one, it cant be bought out of a shop shelf.

Excellent work as usual Sergio! I wish I could hire you to do all my Post Production.
That would be cool! Thanks
thank you
You're welcome!!
This was so great! Can I ask how you learned grading like this? Are there any channel on RUclips you learned from?

well done .👏👏👏👏
Thank you!!
Thanks you so much Sergio, could you have used the example shot as a still or reference pallet for colour picking.?
