A LAPTOP? 35 uniforms? I would know the MOMENT I returned to my car if my lighter was missing. Plus, it was on the back seat in a TOTE BAG? Why didn't she at the very least, put it in the trunk? Plus, there are usually signs EVERYWHERE about the valet not being responsible for stolen or missing items. The Valets(or someone they knew) most likely stole the items, especially since it was parked away from all the other cars. However, she has no recourse and she practically gift wrapped the laptop/other items for the thieves.
To say it was the valet or someone they knew is very ignorant, she could of forgot it at the library as she even mentioned she put stuff down after studying so she probably was busy talking or texting about her Saturday night restaurant and left in a hurry. Someone at the library probably took it

It was the birthday gift I bought her and we went out dancing. We knew for a fact that it was stolen but it was impossible to prove it. The restaurants and nightclubs are not responsible because the valet service is a third party company. There's always that one shady employee so its best not to take any chances. Don't forget all they have to do to burglarize your home is look at your address on your registration in your glove box, take a pic with their phone, and make a copy of your key while you're enjoying a nice long dinner. Don't be so trusting!
There is nothing wrong with using a valet. You just have to use common sense and not leave anything in your car that you wouldn't want stolen. You can't guarantee that the guys won't look through your things; don't leave anything for them to take. 😉

It's impossible for the plaintiff to prove her case. She claims the bag was in the back seat on Saturday. She didn't notice it was gone until Sunday afternoon. My husband, who was my date that night, had his car wrecked by a valet. He will not let anyone park his car now. It was kind of like a Ferris Bueller day. One valet tried to distract us while the other drove the car up. Luckily, we spotted the front-end damage.
She's a student that lives at home, sounds like upper middle class parents. Seems young and sheltered. It doesn't occur to her that someone would steal. Of course she doesn't check the trunk until her Mom reminds her. Of course she lost, but that doesn't mean a valet person didn't nick her gear
It doesn’t make sense. Always put valuables in the trunk when you valet. Also, it makes no sense for a thief to steal that stuff and detail the trunk too. More than anything, they can’t prove an employee of the valet stole those items. She has no video. She has no proof. Even apps like Find My iPhone could have helped prove who stole the laptop by tracking its location. She likely left her keys in her car when they got home and the items were stolen out of her driveway. No one in uniform is going to steal a big bag with a computer in it while at work.
Don't leave ANYTHING in your car valuable or not. Years ago I had bought my toddler a helium balloon and she left it in the back seat of the car. We went into the mall. When we came out someone had broken into the car and, yes, they only stole the balloon. I'm not shocked at anything people do.
Plaintiff is insane to think her items were stolen. Who in the world would steal 35 softball teeshirts? The tote bag- that would make sense, but the rest doesn't.
Valet is like the car wash. The minute you drive off you're screwed. I don't care who's in a hurry...I'm taking the 30 seconds to walk around my car and if necessary, check for anything even remotely valuable that I left in it.
Okay that's nice for you but that doesn't mean all valet guys don't call in a friend to come clear out a car.. you found nice valet.. but it can happen
She was suing for the software on her laptop? This makes me think that she was upping the amount supposedly stolen. Why wouldn't she have the installation discs? Or, if purchased as a download, she could go to the manufacturer's website to re-download.
This woman is just an entitled irresponsible lady. The fact she left something so valuable in her car as she gave valet keys to put her entitled car away for her entitled self and decided ' Oh the hired help must have stole it because I am too dumb to consider the consequence of my actions so I choose to ignore they even exist until they benefit me!' How many of YOU leave valuables in your cars at night, never mind while handing valets your keys to essentially TRUST them on an imaginary honor system when even the valet companies themselves state they are NOT responsible for stolen OR lost items. It didn't occur to her someone would steal from HER? Entitled. She is 100% guilty of entitlement and irresponsibility for her own actions. EVEN at the end, she blames the Judge for 'not letting her finish'! She didn't get to spin a yarn she liked because the judge was able to instantly use law to stop it immediately. Legit, people like her DESERVE to be victims until they smarten the heck up. if they never do, no real harm done actually.

Heck, maybe her own private jet so it’s extra EXTRA secure 😂😂 Or her own personal chauffeur, so she’ll alllllways have eyes on her forgotten belongings 😂🙄🙄🙄
If she’s actually had that laptop she would be able to track it. So either she’s lying or she probably left her bag somewhere and thought she had it in the car.

She should have taken her bag with the laptop etc into the restaurant with her
Ive never used valet but my grandpa had to once at a casino they left his lights on and the battery died then had the audacity to ask him for a tip
My grandma did at a casino, and when the valet pulled up to give her the car, he left the door wide open, and before she could get around the car, a thief hopped in and drove away. She sued the casino and won about 10K we think. She never disclosed the amount to us.
Once in Vegas I had a valet with serious gastric issues cause when I got my car back it smelled like he rubbed his butt on every inch. Had to get it professionally cleaned. Now I choose park and ride or I'll get a Lyft
Love it when they say "Judge didnt let me finish " - Common!!! Those people just cant take ANY accountability for being DUMB!
I've noticed that the ones who say that are that have done the most talking 😂😂😂
And what she wanted to say to "finish" had no relevance 🙄
Maybe the valet saw you had a nice car and parked it in the back so it won’t get hit by other cars.
The valet parking is usually further away than self-parking.
Totally off topic, but I love Ruth Chris Steak House...smile
Use to be so good now the taste have changed.
@@TLibra Damn, that's messed up.
@@TLibra aww that’s sad. I love that restaurant
Ruth’s chris steakhouse. That name is so weird and awkward.
@@TLibraAgreed. It has definitely changed. Actually years ago. I worked prime steakhouses for years. They were Prime, but changed to USDA
Why don't you put the stuff in the trunk I mean you see these stories all the time
If this is in fact "true" they went through the trunk as well so putting it in there wouldn't have done any good at all.
@@amandabrown6565 Not really. They wouldn't even think of stealing anything unless she put it out in the open.
I’ll never forget I went to NY
And i valet my S65
I stayed the weekend
On my drive home
All the lights went on in my car
They beat the crap out of my car
I was stuck on the highway and when I tried to sue the valet company
My lawyer said don’t bother
So little advice to people who drive nice cars
Take a picture of your mileage when you hand them your keys
Those kids like to take joyrides with them
My husband, who was my date that night, had his car wrecked by a valet. He will not let anyone park his car now. It was kind of like a Ferris Bueller day. One valet tried to distract us while the other drove the car up. Luckily, we spotted the front-end damage.
She's just a gold digger. Poor man that's with her. He's going to get screwed.
Unfortunately she has zero proof it could of been anyone valet company is not liable
She said she’s on her way to study again then says she’s on her way to church? Her story keeps changing
She must be confuse dor lying.
That's on her...
Should have put valuables in the trunk... or left them at home
6:07
She thought that BMW = MASTERLOCK...👀😶
i can't believe she didn't claim to have the Hope diamond in the trunk.
I use valet in Vegas. Great guys who treat me well. I have left things in the car and never had a single issue. Professionals.
Okay that's nice for you but that doesn't mean all valet guys don't call in a friend to come clear out a car.. you found nice valet.. but it can happen
@@just4now141 When it does, be alert. Clearly, this plaintiff wasn't. You snooze, you lose and then you can't sue.
She was suing for the software on her laptop? This makes me think that she was upping the amount supposedly stolen. Why wouldn't she have the installation discs? Or, if purchased as a download, she could go to the manufacturer's website to re-download.
Tell me you're entitled without telling me you're entitled
This woman is just an entitled irresponsible lady.
The fact she left something so valuable in her car as she gave valet keys to put her entitled car away for her entitled self and decided ' Oh the hired help must have stole it because I am too dumb to consider the consequence of my actions so I choose to ignore they even exist until they benefit me!'
How many of YOU leave valuables in your cars at night, never mind while handing valets your keys to essentially TRUST them on an imaginary honor system when even the valet companies themselves state they are NOT responsible for stolen OR lost items.
That’s the most professional valet company I’ve ever seen.
Electronic device, be it tablet, phone, laptop, something I’m never nonchalant about, never leave in my car, hotel wherever.
I left my polo shirt at a hotel while clubbing, it was stolen, one of a kind, never leaving anything valuable in hotel room again.
Ha ha. Knew she wasn’t getting shit. Not a hard call to make. It is impossible for the judge to prove that the valet stole stole anything when the plaintiff took the car off-site before she complained about it.
For all the judge knows, there was never even a laptop in the first place; forget proving the value😂
I'm a car guy. Car guys never use valets. LOL. 😀
Guys who can afford it do 🤷🏼♂️
Wrong!!!
Has absolutely nothing to do with being able to afford it. It has everything to do with not wanting to hand over the keys to your “baby”.
Jay Leno doesn’t do valets. He can definitely afford it.
So, they can afford the restaurant but not the valet? You’re not making sense.
@@ericervin4778 guy you can’t afford it. No biggie some people can’t. Doesn’t mean you’re any less of a man
@@ericervin4778some people budget expensive date nights and don’t account for valet.
Plaintiff story sounds might strange. Good food shopping, leave printed t-shirts and a laptop in your trunk and someone breaks in? Nope, I think she forgot where she put evrything.
I GET WHAT THE PLAINTIFF IS SAYING ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE USE TO LEAVING CERTAIN ITEMS IN YOUR VEHICLE FOR CONVENIENCE. FOR ME WHEN I GET MY OIL CHANGE I GO OVER EVERYTHING W/ MY ADDRESS ETC WATCHING MOVEMENT NO BK SEAT NOR TRUNK NEED TO BE OPEN ONLY THE HOOD IN & OUT THEN I MAKE SURE MY CHARGERS ARE THERE. SOMETHING COULD'VE BEEN STOLEN BUT NOT SURE OLE WELL LESSON LEARNED
5:57 i knew that the plaintiff lost right here. For someone who was reluctant to use valet for fear of damage to her car to check it the next day AFTER an alleged theft....🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔Puh-lease!
This is a expensive lesson. Dont valet.
Definitely taught me a lesson I will never ever trust a valet to park my car besides I can park it and walk myself there's those they're in the airport their thieves everywhere it's a shame but you just should never trust anybody you don't know
I've never valet parking.. Don't trust them
this is what i do. I take pictures before i leave the car and then i search the car before i leave the valet
In 3 more months,my '85 Dodge Aries K that I bought new will be paid off.
Imagine skating through life with the flimsy defense of, "It didn't occur to me."
Plaintiff wasn’t cautious with her items because she probably didn’t have to scrimp & save to earn them. I’m sure Mommy & Daddy have already bought her a new computer…and a BETTER luxury car.
I thought you can track apple products
Great case glad in went in the defendants favor… yayyyyyy
Gotta think ahead and dont leave valuables laying around. I recently went on vacation abroad and i didnt even leave my valuables in my hotel room. I took my stuff with me in a duffel bag while I explored the city. Not gonna risk the aggravation of my stuff getting stolen.
I believe one of the valet employees employees did steal her stuff. She just doesn’t have enough proof.
What fool leaves a laptop in the backseat she deserves nothing
It was pretty stupid of the plaintiff to leave all that expensive stuff in the car. I don’t know why she didn’t turn on her. Find her computer on her computer to see where it went.
When those dudes talk like that they're not parking my car!
You sound like a treat Karen
Rockland County ! These two are typical of Rockland.. "always someone's fault... she most likely never locked her car at HER HOUSE. At Ruth Cris' in Tarrytown, most people park their own car since there is a huge lot out front. Valet park cars in a far corner of the lot, that is their assigned area . This girl is SO spoiled. and a know it all.
She’s nuts! i even take the change out of my truck 😂 before i give it to valet
she is lying , she made the whole thing up to get that steak dinner for free and then some , ruth chris steak house aint cheap .
No way,,she's lying.
This lady takes too many things for granted. She should use her brain to think more and use her common sense instead of "I didn't think, I didn't think". 🙄
Expensive lesson but she learned it so thank you to the thief.
Unless you have a video of the employee doing it!
I never velet ❤ Love from Chicago ❤
I took my truck to be inspected last week and left my wallet with $600 cash laying on the middle counsel. When I got inside the lady said, "I need to see you license" Suddenly I realized and my car was up on the inspection racks and their was a guy inside. I ran inside the area which is forbidden and told the guy, "I NEED TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF MY TRUCK NOW" I guess I looked paniced and he said, "okay" they other guy stepped out and I retrieved my wallet. LOL sometime we all do dumb things.
My grandson had a friend that did Valet parking at a casino & the stories I heard 😳 they do NOT take care of those cars & they DO “play around” with the expensive ones. Unless someone tips them before parking it your car is fair game 😕
Judge M is a looker
Ayyy I’m from Rockland County NY!!
at 5:00 Judge said "it didn't occur to you that someone would steal a laptop." so condescendingly sarcastic. But she is overlooking tha fact that it wasn't a naked laptop just sitting on the seat. It was in a bag. So no you don't think someone is going to steal your bag, especially someone you are entrusting with your car like a valet!
Exactly. Especially if she would have noticed right then and there on the spot. I noticed the one guy said the two people had been working there 5 years and the other said 6 and there good guys. I don't even think they know them like that. Well not enough to say they aren't thieves and "great guys"!!
I drive home every time I Christmas shop. THEN go back out, drive back, drop off at home again, drive back out. Or...I just AMAZON 😂
She did this to herself. WHY, WHY, WHY would you leave valuables in a car period. I vale quite often and I never did that.
I’ve had my car broken into and it was similar to her incident, and I can tell you…I didn’t think to look in my trunk.
