Every time I watch these stuff I feel bad for haibara .. she's literally amazing .. she's so cool,smart,beautiful and lately after her great character development she's thoughtful .. she understand the pain of a person better than anyone and deserves to find happiness more than anyone in the anime and yet she's the only one in the anime that doesn't have a someone to love her .. that's not fair .. and not even logical .. she does have her faults but a girl as amazing as that has to has someone interested in her.. and by that I absolutely don't mean a freak obsessed bastard from her past "Gin" or a 10 years younger boy.. even though I have to admit .. knowing that Gin was interested in her made me feel better. .😌 and I think Akai too .. hopefully

for some reason, I think if Haibara is an character in other animes, she would end up with Shinichi. You can see that the author (Gosho) was so into the first love theme romance. Most of romantic relationships in this anime is about first love (such as Shinichi’s parents, Ran’s parents or Heiji and Katsuha, etc.) But it cannot change the fact that Kudo and Haibara (Shiho) have pure chemistry.
It's rather interesting that they developed her so much as a character that people starts liking her more than the writer's "canon" pairing. They tried to make her likeable but they made her _TOO_ likeable. And now the writer's trying to slowly "drop" her down by adding random out of character stuff such as obsession over some soccer guy. I respect the author for staying true to his Shinichi/Ran pairing that he has been established since the beginning, but I just can't help to feel sad over Ai because the way they benched her was really poorly; Since she's such a great character and has fantastic chemistry with Conan
If u want the "for some reason", the reason is this is a detective series, a thriller, rather than romance anime. gosho created this two characters (conan and haibara), but in the viewers eyes he didnt fulfill their potential, so fanfics exist. but ran shin shiho love chain is not what goshos focusing on. fanfics exist, and it shows that almost anybody can make a better story out of the romance elements in the series than gosho, but i personally think the most appealing thing about dc is the complexity of the plot (which is mainly related to the arcs)

Because if this is how we feel about Ai, then Conan falling for Ai, out of the blue would be so much out of character for us long time viewers who initially started watching this series as a mystery anime lover and not rom-com anime lover. So if Conan has to fall for Ai and that too in a natural way, it should take him another 1000 episodes which I don't think creators have time for. That is why It saddens me to say that I'm not hoping for it anymore. At the end, I just want a happy ending for Ai/Shiho, she deserves it. I hope series doesn't end with Ai sacrificing her life to save either Conan/ Ran or the Detective Boys.

Man, this comment section is me! All of us Conai shippers think alike lol. When I first watched DC from ep 1,I was a Shinran shipper, but after Haibara appeared there was no way I could choose Ran over her
Pure opinion is that I love CoAi or Shinichi/Shiho. everytime they are in the screen its always entertaining as well as the fact that they can relate so much, having their own little world as some said in the show. they flow well and match their intelligent. Ran would have been fine if there is more to her character or if the show wasn't this long, cause honestly she just bored me now. I mean I still like her character, but when its about shinichi, it just doesn't work. I watch all the episodes and every time the chemistry of Ai and Conan is much deeper. thinking about the future ending, is it even worth it if he returns. he has the detective boys, he still has Ran as a sister (which I think he does see her in that light except if its in the movies where she always needs saving) and he seem to enjoy his life as he is, in fact as Conan he was taught to be cautious and not to be overconfident since it consequence lead him to being Conan.
tbh i really like their chemistry. i probably just like the idea of love hate troupe. well they don't technically hate each other but ai just have this cold personality, and shincihi is playful. opposite attraction, if you will. they act like married couple so much it hurts to see they are not the endgame. i love ran, but shy and clingy girls are just not my type

In the episode 'Pro Soccer Player Blackmail Case', when a random girl (Ryoko) said that she's Shinichi's girlfriend (which to get to his contact quickly because of a kidnapping). Ran, at that point, gets angry and drag Conan and Ryoko to 'her' apartment to catch Shinichi. Ran here, gets mad at 'Shinichi's suppose girlfriend'. She has no right to do that because at that time, she's only Shinichi's friend, not his girlfriend. And at the end of the case, Conan bought his shadow to talk to her (don't want her to see his face) and she pleading him about Ryoko like she's the one who been cheated on. Girl, what? I get that Shinichi 'gone missing' and 'only contact through phone or Conan' but she always think (or says) when will he come back. Girl, he could go anywhere he wants, he doesn't need your permission to go. In conclusion, Ran's clingy and nosy.
I ship them so much they really look so cute together but too bad the ship will never be sailed. I hope Aosensei will change his mind to pairing conan with ai rather than ran 😂

Ok, this is just my personal opinion but... I do think CoAi it's a more logic couple (even healthy) that ShinRan, why? Ok, the dinamic of CoAi it's two brilliant minds resonating, they both have similar interestings, similar ways to think, a lot of tastes and common things. But what's have ShinRan? Similar interest? Similar minds? What? I really can't see. The dynamic of ShinRan is Ran idolizing Shinichi and he adore this fact. Ran is a so badly built character, a good character needs personality, tastes, interestings, Ran has notthing but Shinichi. She moves by Shinichi, thinks by Shinichi, Ran doesn't works without Shinichi. It's a shadow. Haibara has her own personality, tastes, story. I really think the point of ShinRan working is Shinichi feel superior with Ran, instead Haibara is a challenge, she's as smart as he, a great detective. Haibara has her owns light and sometimes I feel that this doesn't like Shinichi/Conan, IDK it's just my opinion I know it's so unpopular opinion but... I can't change my mind. Ran it's the worse built character of this anime in my opinion and Haibara one of the best.
I don't deny that conan and ai have great chemistry, but Shinichi basically liked Ran since he was in preschool. Ran only started liking him after the case in New York, so Ran has liked him for technically for a year, while for Shinichi it has been thirteen years. And I think Ran's character is unique and she's not just some love interest thrown into the story although it's made to seem that way. Not everyone can be a genius like Shinichi or Sera or Ai or anyone with an extraordinary background. But still Ran is a Karate Master which still makes her special, and her kindness to help anyone no matter who they are is amazing. She's good with children and is attentive, she'll save someone even if they're aiming to shoot at her, she tries to save her parents failed marriage. The only flaw I see in writing her character is that, I fail to see how she's been unable to not notice that Shinichi is Conan. Also these two are childhood friends, every time Shinichi needed someone, she was always there. She sees him as a normal person since she's always calling him a fool for detectives or Sherlock loving maniac and such. Although she admires him for his skills, she still keeps him grounded, and even if she wasn't a love interest, I still admire her as a character from the perspective of a best friend. But the only reason I currently don't see why conan and ai would work is because Kudo is legit head over heels for Ran in almost every god damn episode, conan would never give Ai a chance even if they have great chemistry. I don't think Kudo is capable of liking anyone else other than Ran, because even if he chooses to give up on her, his heart still wouldn't be able to go to anyone else. He can try to like Ai, but his head would be filled with Ran, and that isnt healthy. Plus if you look at Shinichi and Ran's relationship from before he turned into Conan, they already looked like a happy married couple. Everything's just weird now because the person she thought she knew the best and trusted her whole life suddenly disappeared, never tells about where he is or what he's actually doing, and pops up once every arc, and looks like he's near death. Meanwhile for Shinichi, he's on edge from the Black Organization, and in all the mess he got himself into because one day he decided to follow two shady people all by himself with no backup plan on a regular weekend day at the amusement park. But I really wish Ran knew from some point, because she could've really contributed and helped cover for him and aid him like Hattori does. Because honestly all it takes is one dude from the Black Organization to make the connection that Ran is Shinichi's girlfriend, and has to ask her when's the last time she saw him, or if he's alive, and they're about to do that soon, considering Shinichi gave away that he's still alive on the Kyoto Trip. That's automatically blowing his cover. BUt don't get me wrong, I think Ai and Conan have a 100/10 chemistry, if Ran didn't exist, I would totally be shipping them, but it's not canon to the story, and it doesn't make sense with Ran's existence and the fact that Shinichi's been in love with her for thirteen yrs. But yh, thats just my thoughts.
Haibara is so strong and confident she stands up for her self is a good friend and very intelligent she and sinshee are perfect together and very compatible ran is a crybaby and very annoying pushover girlygirl her character does not have any deapth or dimensions the writers did not make any effort to change her or make het intresting she is stagnat and pretty much the same from s1 haibra and sinshee are the endgame for me
Until now I am thinking, once they have the antidote, will Haibara take it??? Looking at the current situation, it looks like she want to start a new life as Haibara.... Any opinion?
In episode 192, she tells him that, "I will decide whether to take it or not after observing your condition for a while.", It's possible she will take it but it will be risky for her as long BO is roaming around freely as she will become an easy target in her original body. So I guess her answer will depend on the progress of the APTX4869. OR she will continue living a normal kid's life, it's hard to tell.
Idk why but the dynamic of CoAI is better than ShinRan. I really love Haibara and her personality. It's kinda sad they don't get much cute scenes recently 😢
People don't hate Ran, she would be the normal type of girl, on the show, Although some do not like that couple is the one that will turn out, I am a fan of both couples but at the same time, I hate Shinichi and I think he lies too much at 2 o'clock to Ran because he shrunk and that and to Haibara, who was very traumatized, I hide the fact that that the uncle who is living next to him is the cause of the death of his sister / I think / and many other things, she always lies to Haibara even if it is to protect her too, she always lies, when the two find out the truth, it will be very difficult to recover her relationship with the two, and more with Haibara, since surely when Haibara passes in a certain way she will feel betrayed and too hurt, I think she will recriminate the fact of not telling her and confess to him between tears, I mean crying, since as EVERYONE knows / even Shinichi knows it since the one episode made the attempt to ask him but because of the fact that he supposed in a way the answer he fell silent / that Haibara is in love with him.

Conan is willing to risk making the pill completely useless (as his body gets use to the drugs) but won't change to meet ran goes to show shinichi should be paired up with haibara first you can't hide the secret forever, its unfair on ran, there may never be a cure, he won't tell due to the "men in black" and his not actively trying to find them so it may never happen, even if you could cure him RIGHT NOW its too late, how do you explain to someone that you've been lying to them after living with them for YEARS

Ai has a dark side that can never be accepted by Conan as a life-long partner, in fact, Ayumi has a better chance than her. Ran is loyal, pure, trust worthy, empathetic, and like Shinichi, she highly values justice to the point of idealism. Can you say the same about Ai?
Actually that's just friendship , haibara and Conan has in blw them , Conan doesnt blush or imagine anything cute with haibara ,like he does with Ran . It's pretty simple once we fell for someone , we don't go changing our love to other girl or boy just because they are brilliant and smart than the previous one . Ran is just an high school girl she has still a bright future a head she can be anything she wants But haibara is much older than shinichi nd ran ,she is already a doctor and much worked for organizing ,so no doubt she has much knowledge , how can you compare her with an high school girl . Her sister was around 25 when she died so that means that she is younger and she has been in that organization her whole life and they have been preparing her to take over her parents research so it is possible and because she was so good she was a scientist at age thirteen for the organization.

I started reading the manga since I was a kid, but I never think Conan / Ai have anything romantic. Maybe I had simple mind when I started the series, so I don't see it even until now. Ai is my favorite character though. Edit: For me Ai seems like an older sister of Shinichi and Ran. She cares about them. Maybe she cares about Ran more, because Ran reminds Ai of her deceased sister. A lot of times Ai got pissed whenever Shinichi unknowingly hurt Ran.

Haibara has her owns light and sometimes I feel that this doesn't like Shinichi/Conan, IDK it's just my opinion I know it's so unpopular opinion but... I can't change my mind. Ran it's the worse built character of this anime in my opinion and Haibara one of the best.

I don't deny that conan and ai have great chemistry, but Shinichi basically liked Ran since he was in preschool. Ran only started liking him after the case in New York, so Ran has liked him for technically for a year, while for Shinichi it has been thirteen years. And I think Ran's character is unique and she's not just some love interest thrown into the story although it's made to seem that way. Not everyone can be a genius like Shinichi or Sera or Ai or anyone with an extraordinary background. But still Ran is a Karate Master which still makes her special, and her kindness to help anyone no matter who they are is amazing. She's good with children and is attentive, she'll save someone even if they're aiming to shoot at her, she tries to save her parents failed marriage. The only flaw I see in writing her character is that, I fail to see how she's been unable to not notice that Shinichi is Conan. Also these two are childhood friends, every time Shinichi needed someone, she was always there. She sees him as a normal person since she's always calling him a fool for detectives or Sherlock loving maniac and such. Although she admires him for his skills, she still keeps him grounded, and even if she wasn't a love interest, I still admire her as a character from the perspective of a best friend. But the only reason I currently don't see why conan and ai would work is because Kudo is legit head over heels for Ran in almost every god damn episode, conan would never give Ai a chance even if they have great chemistry. I don't think Kudo is capable of liking anyone else other than Ran, because even if he chooses to give up on her, his heart still wouldn't be able to go to anyone else. He can try to like Ai, but his head would be filled with Ran, and that isnt healthy. Plus if you look at Shinichi and Ran's relationship from before he turned into Conan, they already looked like a happy married couple. Everything's just weird now because the person she thought she knew the best and trusted her whole life suddenly disappeared, never tells about where he is or what he's actually doing, and pops up once every arc, and looks like he's near death. Meanwhile for Shinichi, he's on edge from the Black Organization, and in all the mess he got himself into because one day he decided to follow two shady people all by himself with no backup plan on a regular weekend day at the amusement park. But I really wish Ran knew from some point, because she could've really contributed and helped cover for him and aid him like Hattori does. Because honestly all it takes is one dude from the Black Organization to make the connection that Ran is Shinichi's girlfriend, and has to ask her when's the last time she saw him, or if he's alive, and they're about to do that soon, considering Shinichi gave away that he's still alive on the Kyoto Trip. That's automatically blowing his cover. BUt don't get me wrong, I think Ai and Conan have a 100/10 chemistry, if Ran didn't exist, I would totally be shipping them, but it's not canon to the story, and it doesn't make sense with Ran's existence and the fact that Shinichi's been in love with her for thirteen yrs. But yh, thats just my thoughts.

Haibara is so strong and confident she stands up for her self is a good friend and very intelligent she and sinshee are perfect together and very compatible ran is a crybaby and very annoying pushover girlygirl her character does not have any deapth or dimensions the writers did not make any effort to change her or make het intresting she is stagnat and pretty much the same from s1 haibra and sinshee are the endgame for me

In episode 192, she tells him that, "I will decide whether to take it or not after observing your condition for a while.", It's possible she will take it but it will be risky for her as long BO is roaming around freely as she will become an easy target in her original body. So I guess her answer will depend on the progress of the APTX4869. OR she will continue living a normal kid's life, it's hard to tell.
Idk why but the dynamic of CoAI is better than ShinRan. I really love Haibara and her personality. It's kinda sad they don't get much cute scenes recently 😢

Her sister was around 25 when she died so that means that she is younger and she has been in that organization her whole life and they have been preparing her to take over her parents research so it is possible and because she was so good she was a scientist at age thirteen for the organization.

Unpopular Opinion: I still prefer Shinichi and Ran 😏
I started reading the manga since I was a kid, but I never think Conan / Ai have anything romantic.
Maybe I had simple mind when I started the series, so I don't see it even until now.
Ai is my favorite character though.

For me Ai seems like an older sister of Shinichi and Ran. She cares about them.
Maybe she cares about Ran more, because Ran reminds Ai of her deceased sister.
A lot of times Ai got pissed whenever Shinichi unknowingly hurt Ran.
