My wife got a pair of these 6 months ago and she skates them almost daily. She loves them. About two months in I swapped her wheels for undercover team blanks and IW Swiss bearings. HUGE difference! She said she will never skate cheap wheels again!
For anyone that doesn’t know, the cuff liners can come out! It’s a half cuff with the heel and calf part so you can throw in the washer. It’s held by really strong Velcro where the heel is on the outside, right behind the silver ROLLERBLADE logo. If you look under the fabric strap you’ll see that the liner isn’t attached to the skate. I found this accidentally and now I see that nobody knows about this because all the vids on the Zetrablades say the liner doesn’t come out but it does. :)
Nice review of this skate. I would agree on your overall impression! They are now going for about $130. However, every once in a while they are on sale for $90.
Yesterday I bought at the academy for 100 dollars the Zetrablade size 9 (I'm 81/2) and they fit me perfectly, these are very comfortable. I started skating at the age of 9 and I stopped doing it more than ten years ago, I feel very nervous but excited it is like learning to skate again. Congratulations, excellent video and review. Greetings from Houston Texas.
I got those when I got back into blading from a sporting goods store and it was a great beginner skate I skated the wheels down to the cores because at the time I wasn’t even aware of where to buy new wheels
Back to Blading ya at the time I wasn’t aware of online stores like roller warehouse inline warehouse pro skaters place etc. since I’ve upgraded to a powerslide carbon tau that’s a great skate I bet you would enjoy it and it’s not as expansive as an fr carbon or adapt skate
@@maargill9404 Hydrogen or Supreme by Rollerblade. I just bought the Macroblade 80/ with the ABT brake. Haven’t gotten them yet but I’m probably going to want a faster more durable wheel once I get my stride back. Been a while since I skated but these wheels are soft and good for beginners because they’re slow. But either the Supreme or Hydrogen wheels with new bearings will make this skate much faster and the wheels are harder so they last longer.
Telling people to take off the brake is irresponsible. Sometimes you really need to brake fast and the brake that comes with this model will stop you. Otherwise, unless you have the skill of dragging one skate to stop, which is not an easy thing to do, you are crashing into the car that just pulled out in front of you.
Wow, wasn’t expecting a skate product found on Amazon to be worthwhile lol. Good to know as I have a few friends I’ve been looking to get into rollerblading.
Thank you for making of this video I couldn’t find any good videos on what skates to buy from Amazon and this is by far the best video and found😁😁😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I just got these off Amazon for $145 (Canadian) and when I saw this vid I was so nervous you were going to say they werent good. I rollerbladed a bit last summer but the ones I got were used and too small for my feet. They literally hurt so much I had to stop after 10 minutes to let my feet breathe so I had to give it up. My friends have skateboards so I'm excited to be able to keep up (and go faster than) them now :))
Picked these up yesterday from my local Academy sports store. Haven’t been on a pair of skates in about 17 years. My foot strength needs work, but otherwise these skated great. The soft boot can make the wheels feel a little wobbly under your foot, but I’m sure once my feet strengthen back up I won’t have any trouble. Wheels are very soft which is great if you’re just starting out again. Bearings were surprisingly smooth as well.
Really great video, thank you. All the other skate review videos I looked at were just people talking about them but you actually demo’d them with great footage. Thanks again!
Me and my sister has a blue one and my brother has those black ones. I also wondered why we couldn't turn but the thing is that it's the breaks this video did help.
Lots of you are asking if you can use this for slalom inline skating, it’s great for beginner but the skates are really differnt for when doing on toe tip tricks, I’m giving you the honest opinion that the way the shoe holds up with the wheel let along the fit if the skates you can’t do lot of slalom inline tricks on these, after getting engineer skills down I would recommend you having to buy real ones from in person or skating website .
I just bought a pair of these in 2 different sizes so I can see which size fits better and return the other one. I’m really excited to get into skating, technically again but I was really young when I last skated
I never trip on my brake because I have been forced to leave it on. I literally cannot get it off now because the design is horrible, so yeah, now I am really used to compensating for the brake and using it.
With a soft boot, integrated liner, fitness tyoe skate. i do recommend downsizing as the boot with strech to fit your feet if its a little tight at first. better to have it slightly tight than too loose. Obviously if its far too small then get a larger size. when i got my Fila fitness skates (alu 84 primo) i got a smaller size and within a week it fit perfect. More comfortable than most shoes i've ever owned. Maybe should have pointed out that the footage of you skating was pre-covid. ??.. i know it was a long time ago you skated this.. different world back then. Remember the good old days of 2019. hahah groan!! (haha) all the best.
I came across your video review on these inline skates. I'm new to this but I am considering getting these. I am hoping that I will like inline skating for cardio. Can you get a good workout that gets your heart pumping from inline skating?
Great! Any skating is a solid cardio workout. Once you get experienced, there are plenty of exercises. Maybe hockey cross training would be a good place to start looking.
I have been trying to replace mine for about 5 months now, not an easy task this year. I purchased them in May of 2019 and have around 1500 miles on them according to my GPS tracking watch. I am still skating with the brake but flipped it over to the left side for more even wear on it. When my wheels wear down near 60mm I take the brake off for a few days because it starts rubbing when I don't want it. The brake did get into the way on crossovers at first but for the most part it does not bother me. The biggest problem for me is I have short but wide feet. I had to get skates that are 1 and 1/2 US size large to make this work and they are still too narrow. I have adjusted the lacing to skip the whole at the widest part of my foot to avoid some of the pain it was causing. The one thing I hate about this skate is the velcro 45 degree strap. I really wish it was a buckle. The factory wheels for me wore down after around 50 hours of skating. I replaced them with labeda 80mm 85As orange hockey asphalt wheels ( I think I am on the 5th or 6th set) but I am considering purchasing UC 86A wheels in the future.
I was just wondering how plastic frames performed compared to metallic ones! I was surprised at your satisfaction with the speed or flow while others said slower in general! For a better smoother wheel at inexpensive cost, what's the difference between RB hydrogen and Bont elemental? Thanks.
Nice. I used to skate back in elementary and high school, but haven’t since, I definitely want to get into it again. Biggest problem is there’s very few brick and mortar places nowadays, at least in my area. I think Dick’s has these though so I’m gonna take a look. Nice vid. What’s your opinion on the entry level K2 skates like the Kinetic series vs these entry level Rollerblades/Blade Runners?
I heard the K2 fit isn’t as comfortable but ymmv. Everyone has different shaped feet. I think Rollerblade makes the best wheels but I’m sure the K2 are decently made

has anyone found good wheels replacement once the ones that came with the skates wear down? are there better wheels from a different brand I could perhaps use to improve the skates?
Just bought these today. Big difference from my K2 Sodo’s a lot lighter and faster I guess because I have the Sodo’s with a front rocker set up. The Sodo’s seem like a big tank and the Zetrablades like an STI. Great review!
Just starting out and paid $250 for some power slides and the wife found someone giving a pair of these away for free online and picked them up. Idk anything about skating but for some reason these feel wayyyy better and more...stable? To me?
I'm a 8½-9 in shoes, (womens) what size should I get for these? I had roller blades years ago I think about age 9-12 and ever since I broke my arm on them I couldn't use them and had to throw them away due to how much I grew and they were beat up, idk what size they were, or brand, but I loved them, I think I'm definitely stull a beginning, cuz I haven't skated since but I really want to again
Quick question Larry. Ive skated for all my teen life being hockey and aggressive street skate. So 27 years latter I just bought a set of these. I’m a 9.5 us men’s so I ordered 10. It’s either my ankles are really week or I need to down size to maybe a 9 a lot of ankle wobble im dealing with even with double socks on. I can not believe how odd this feels to learn to skate again the feeling is gone. I’m regaining but man total novice now. Too all the young people out there never stop doing what your good at. Once you do you are relearning everything for balance and how you body and momentum have to be re learned. Skates were second nature to me a part of me. I can’t even try to attempt backwards-skating yet and I use to do that like back of my hand
Welcome back. Have you measured your feet in centimeters? I always recommend people go off of metric measurement instead of their shoe size. It’s always hard to tell and it sounds like they might be too big for you
Thanks for this review! My wife and I want to get back into skating. She's always been a blader and I've been a quad, but always had the desire to be a blader as it seems like you can move around more, idk! Was looking these up for my wife, but def considering getting myself a pair as well. Did you happen to test these indoors as well? If so, how'd they hold up? Consider me subbed btw!
Love your videos! I'm a former aggressive rollerblader that's wanting to get back into skating after about 12yrs+. Would you recommend these or the powerslide one zoom 80?
What is the difference between the male and female model of these rollerblades? I would rather take these black ones for myself because I don’t like the mint color on the female model. 🤷🏼♀️
You did not mention support, the soft boot has little of it most of the time. Don't forget that people who are starting don't have the muscle strength like You and need that support from the skate.
I think that’s a fair point, though with the lacing and strap it was pretty supportive for me. I’m also assuming people starting out aren’t skating as hard as me either, so it balances out. Thanks for the feedback!
@@BacktoBlading i hope You are right ;) i started with a soft boot and had a terrible experience with it, but it wasn't rollerblade just a sport chain market brand so maybe that was the reason :)

The Zetrablades are a ok beginner skate, I wouldn't recommend them though, they can get pretty uncomfortable and on amazon they are about $120, if you are just starting skating, I would recommend the RB Cruiser for just a little more, or you can get some flying eagle inline skates for about $150, but if you don't mind paying the price I would really recommend the flying eagle F5S

I would prefer the softer shoe, do you think the Zetrablade would be ok for me to start with. I am not so big, around 70/72 kilos, 5ft 10" approx . Big Thanks!! I am so glad to have found your channel. Good Vibes..!! Chris
@@BacktoBlading Arrh Big Thanks!! Yes, loving the good vibes thanks!! Bless up's the great Rollerblade community, giving thanks!! These sounds great!! Yes, been speaking with LocoSkates, such great guy's thanks.. and they are near to me : ) thinking I may go for the Rollerblade Cruiser 2021 or the RB 80, it's a little older, but love the colours.. just wondering if you have any experience with these. Big Thanks!! Bright Vibes, Chris
Did you have to change anything after removing the brake?
Nope, nothing needed. Solid skates
Hey man I'm 5'10 about 230 lbs can I use these??? I'm tryna drop some weight and you look very fit this looks like a good way to lose the pounds while having fun.
has anyone found good wheels replacement once the ones that came with the skates wear down? are there better wheels from a different brand I could perhaps use to improve the skates?
I always recommend calling your local shop and asking what they suggest. 80mm wheels are pretty common, lots of good options out there.
Great review!
I'm U.S. mens size 10 and a half (10.5). Should I pick size 10 or 11?
I’d measure in cm, that way you know for sure. I’m 28.5 cm and the 11 fit loose but it was ok
Thanks
Does the hex key come with the roller blades when you buy it?
Just bought these today.
Big difference from my K2 Sodo’s a lot lighter and faster I guess because I have the Sodo’s with a front rocker set up.
The Sodo’s seem like a big tank and the Zetrablades like an STI.
Great review!
Nice review but these stoppers I never get warm with these things.
These better than the advantage pro?
Do you shoot with a 360 deg camera?
Yes, Insta360
Are these considered a soft boot? They look almost a hybrid ,Are they comfortable?
I guess a soft boot, but much more supportive. They’re great skates to see if you like skating.
@@BacktoBlading are they comfortable straight away?
I am a 12 in mens but there isnt half sizes should I still go with a 12 or 11’s.
Best bet is to measure your feet in cm and see what the recommend. I think they fit a bit roomy so if you’re close you can make a smaller size work.
in your opinion for beginners what is safer to use a hardboat or softboat such as zetrablade?
I’d probably go with a hard boot, typically more supportive
Kinda a random question, but I'm curious about the bag you are skating with in this and the Next review video.
Lol
What's the difference between these and the elite version?
I think the wheels are better in the elite, but I don’t know
Just starting out and paid $250 for some power slides and the wife found someone giving a pair of these away for free online and picked them up. Idk anything about skating but for some reason these feel wayyyy better and more...stable? To me?
Different skates for different feet. It’s a solid boot though!
What sizes are they in
I'm a 8½-9 in shoes, (womens) what size should I get for these?
It’s always hard to tell and it sounds like they might be too big for you
Thanks Larry I saw you mention that in a few videos lmao it finally registered. I’ll do that..
Do u think they are also good for indoor skating
Thanks for this review! My wife and I want to get back into skating. She's always been a blader and I've been a quad, but always had the desire to be a blader as it seems like you can move around more, idk! Was looking these up for my wife, but def considering getting myself a pair as well. Did you happen to test these indoors as well? If so, how'd they hold up? Consider me subbed btw!
Love your videos! I'm a former aggressive rollerblader that's wanting to get back into skating after about 12yrs+. Would you recommend these or the powerslide one zoom 80?
I love the Zoom, I think there’s a video of me skating them. That’s a much better choice.
@@BacktoBlading Just what i was leaning towards as well. Thanks a lot!
Are these good for someone who is 270 lbs?
I would probably recommend a hard shell boot vs these soft boot. They’ll give you more support.
@@BacktoBlading thank you, do you recommend any specific brands in particular
Can you remove the frame on these skates ?
I think so, but I don’t know why you would.
@@BacktoBlading i was thinking of removing the frame then putting another frame which is more durable
No. The frame cannot be removed and/or replaced. It is one piece plastic-like material.
No
did they come built?
What is the difference between the male and female model of these rollerblades? I would rather take these black ones for myself because I don’t like the mint color on the female model. 🤷🏼♀️
I don’t know for sure, but I gotta assume just the color
You did not mention support, the soft boot has little of it most of the time. Don't forget that people who are starting don't have the muscle strength like You and need that support from the skate.
I think that’s a fair point, though with the lacing and strap it was pretty supportive for me. I’m also assuming people starting out aren’t skating as hard as me either, so it balances out. Thanks for the feedback!
@@BacktoBlading i hope You are right ;) i started with a soft boot and had a terrible experience with it, but it wasn't rollerblade just a sport chain market brand so maybe that was the reason :)
Is they good for off road ???
Are the wheels durable
They were ok, but they will need to be replaced sooner than later.
@@BacktoBlading thank you . but which wheels can you recommend to me if these wheels start to get old .
Is There any facebook or discord community? I wanna chat what blades i gotta get, now using xsjado with julio 5050 frame 60mm wheels.. Need some light boots and best one hehe whichone? Help
We have a slack team, link in the description.
I wasn’t able to turn in mine. They were too stiff, with or without the brake. I had to return them. Does anybody know if there could have been something that I was doing wrong? ** (I have experience rollerblading)**
Gracias muy util el video. Greetings from Costa Rica
These are sold out 🙇♂️. Any other recommendations for beginners?
I liked the Bladerunner, comparable but the wheels weren’t as good
I really want to come back to rollerskating. I dont want tricks just freely, smoothly ride.I want to take the brakes off. Does it come with the right tools to do so?
There should be 2 allen keys in the box with the skates. You can use these to remove the brake, and change and maintain the wheels and bearings.
Mine were from goodwill and 7$
Perfect
If only they were still under $100 in Alberta. Best is $300 due to high equipment demand.
Woah! Sorry to hear that. Definitely better skates available for $300
@@BacktoBlading im currently working on some homemade skates. Your video where you 3d printed frames was really informative.
Still cool... Rollerblade revival...
Currently out of stock😫
is this sponsered ?
Nope, my Patreon helps with skate purchasing.
What a Great review (my wife digged the sexy voice and all).
Ha! Appreciate that
Out of stock for idk how long
You've recommended to remove the brake but haven't recommended how to brake lol (beginners)
Hah, fair point. I’ll do some tutorials eventually but until then here’s my friend Ricardo. ruclips.net/video/E_hOIWuO8qA/видео.html
keep the break on and learn to use that first. Plus your wheels will last longer. better to replace a $10 break pad than $60-100 wheels
Times have changed. These aren't under $100 anymore
Think this was pre-pandemic? Sad to see, they were good at sub $100
ugh...$300 in Canada, Amazon, Nov 2022
Sorry! Crazy inflation
