Hi European here. Plants is not that big here. Due to the lack of large tournaments, experienced Plant players are playing people who picked up Snake-Eyes within the last month. Speaking to someone who played over the weekend, they played against mostly Branded and Snake. Branded is a more obnoxious version of plants where you watch them play and then you scoop on your turn...because Nightmare. 2 years of experience vs 2 weeks. Losing the die roll to Plants is GG. I say this as one of the experienced plant players. When Droll disappeared from the meta, we can get away with playing it. Too many lines to end on The Board.
I think you have to look at a lot of results through the lens of "how many top players at this event were not running Snake-Eyes because they're tired of the deck?"
Hey Calli, would you be willing to do a video about your own ideas about different archetypes that could be made and a unique gimmick? This idea popped into my head when i remembered a 5ds deck called Iron Chain. This deck was a victim of its time. There was no real game plan, different effects that didn't mash real well, a total write-off. If it was remade today, I really believe that the deck would really focus on the chaining mechanic. Draw cards, more attacks or attack points, or destroy cards the more you chain. The boss could even rearrange the chain order so you can choose the more favorable outcome. This is no doubt incredibly flawed, but it's an idea-bunny that has been running around my head, and I just want to get it out.
You summarized Dark Ruler perfectly. It doesn't deal with unaffected monsters. However how many good decks exist that have unaffected monsters and if they can't be removed except by Kaiju's and by battle does it really matter that it can't. The best ones don't care about Nibiru. If you don't have the room for Kaijus better off playing to beat everything else than you are trying to plan for niche matchups. If your that worried most events have side decks as long as they aren't best of ones. I've been trying to tell people that if they are playing a deck thats literally that good that it can clear your opponents board and establish a board that strong enough to beat them then we don't need Nibiru to win. Nibiru is limiting game design and making decks like Sharks and unique decks like pure White Woods way worse than they ever had to be. Without Nibiru Sharks would be a tier 1 deck with the new support. It has the ability to play around hand traps and have plenty of non-engine so long as it isn't hit by Nibiru. Nibiru is the reason why decks like Sharks and Swordsoul haven't or aren't now being used in tournaments that much. All White Woods would need is their own version of Trisukta that allows you to special summon a lv. 2 non-tuner to play around hand traps if Nibiru was to get banned. Its also why negates are printed as often as they are and why mistakes like Baronne that can negate almost anything once instead of negating only monsters or only spell/traps ever existed. Some people argue that its only people playing meta decks that complain about Nibiru. But it isn't true and when we see new archetypes that don't get a way to play around Nibiru never get a way and when the best decks in the game are using Nibiru it only proves my point its a easy OTK when it resolves when played in a deck like Branded or Kashtira and it feels more unfair than combo decks are. It is easier to OTK when Nibiru resolves than it is with Tenpai Dragons. That is way to easy considering modern Yugioh design.
@@DutchThriceman Yes but it can't if Bahamat Shark gets negated because playing after that puts you in Nib range. The point behind my comment is Nibiru has been holding back decks like Sharks and been making decks like pure White Wood bad on release. Nowadays for decks to be considered good they need to able to play through at least 2 hand traps. Sometimes new archetypes don't get what they need to be competitive in the face of Nibiru and when they do sometimes its years later. Its been proven time and time again that we don't need Nibiru anymore and its a card thats so powerful when it resolves that whether the best decks in the game or its the people who are playing weaker decks are using it most people who have woken up to it agree that neither side should have Nibiru. Whats the point of the argument of its the same way for almost every deck in the game if Nib can create so many non-games the 1 token isn't enough when your facing decks that are powerful enough it had the same restriction that Dark Ruler No More had it would give people a chance to make a comeback but it doesn't and generally gives everyone using it a unfair advantage that no one should have because it limits card design in a unhealthy way and can rob the game of any skill expression it has. Most people think their is no skill expression in Yugioh because of how powerful decks have gotten. But its not true because when decks are close enough in power the more that they can do the more costly a single mistake can be. Its why a lot of people still enjoy the game. Its nearly unrivaled in its continuously growing complexity. Decks like Kashtira and Branded would annihilate Sharks or pure White Woods if Nib resolved.
@@Getwellcuts True which only proves my point. We already have somewhat convenient ways to deal unaffected monsters maybe not every deck can afford to invest that many materials. What makes Dark Ruler No More is important and why certain decks like Branded and Fire King good is the part where it says monsters can't interact with it. Its restriction of not letting you deal damage is mitigated by making boards that can stop your opponent from playing next turn after you break their board.
@TheCaliEffect tearlaments is a deck people have to watch for. At the philly regional I placed 55 there was a tear player who was top tables for a while so he probably topped aswell
In my Yugioh group I famously play only 5 hand traps, maybe 8 if I know I need droll. I play three ash and 2 infinite. The reason I do this is because I play salamangreat, which means I get to recycle ash, but more importantly is my deck’s overall gameplan. Salamangreat is notorious for being a very resourceful control deck and making it to later rounds than most. That’s usually only when going first. Salad can have trouble going second due to it’s necessity of gazelle to get going. If you can’t get that you’re in for a bad time. However since I don’t run as many hand traps as other decks I’m able to slide in helpful board breakers like book of eclipse or my personal favorite the giant kaiju turtle. This means that I don’t have to spend deck space on things like ghost bell, effect veiler, or other hand traps because I know that my board breaks will help me going second and even going first I know that my rage and roar can keep me afloat.
So, report from a local match at the shop, bit I took out Snake-Eyes + X a few times with Timelords of all things. To be fair, there were a few God Hands involved in the openings, but the combination of lack of knowledge, illiteracy, and my boys hustling to get it won WAY more than I expected.
I'm excited for Infinite Forbidden because with the Fiendsmith and Phantom of Yubel packages Swordsoul, Dinos, Mannadium, Predaplants, and so many other decks are going to be back as tier 1 decks and not having to deal with Nibiru is what makes the difference. My hope is that if they ban something balance combo decks Konami will just hit Apallousa because what combo decks make without it isn't so impressive that we need Nibiru to resolve and send a whole playstyle down the shitter.
I play Pokemon not Yu-Gi-Oh but I like listening to Yu-Gi-Oh content 🤷 but wait you guys are telling me that you finally found a deck to compete with snake eyes 🤔 I've heard of snake eyes dominating for months and just now snake eyes isn't the dominate deck....totally different in pokemon theres no way one deck dominates for more than like a few seconds not months
Bro book of eclipse with the new madolche support coming is an absolutely disgusting play. Been play testing it, your turn shuffle 2 xyz new monster then opponent turn quick shuffle 2 more 😂
The year of the fire may calming down a little in TCG but that's because the tcg hasn't gotten the new Fire Kings cads yet while on the master duel side..... Ya im just gonna say Snake-Eyes aren't dead Unfortunately and that will be more true when the new fire kings hit tcg
Book of eclipse is your weak excused to snake eyes. Hey everybody, what if you don't draw the cards he's talking about and the snake eye player goes first?
Thoughts on the matter are the game is and has been in a bad place for a long time. Snake eyes was/is a symptom it is not the ailment. So maybe the meta shifts slightly but we are gonna get new cards short printed pricing people out and another tier zero deck is gonna creep its head into the meta. The game needs a major shake up and the monetization practices need to be adjusted.
Don’t feel like snake eye really got “outplayed” this last weekend, just more so that all of the top players are tired of the deck and playing other things now.
I'm actually surprised by this too. From lvl 1 to lvl 20 during the qualifiers, I've dueled like 3 people using Snake-Eyes. I thought people only cared about winning. I don't know what's going on.
Is EU just not beating the allegations of plants being forever tier 0 or are one of the plant winners about to win worlds and not get dusted by swordsoul and dragon link?
this now has proven my point for years if all play one deck sure its tier but if we stop and plsy others then more options are seen to play all decks good it just take the player or the community to make them great
Naw its going downhill. Lack of communication from konami and everyone expects a banwave then another tier 0/1 deck to take hold a squeeze the fun out. Its predictable at this point.
Snake-Eyes although its more complex than Kashtira is its played for the same reason. Its not like we don't decks that can outmatch or nearly equal them in power and/or consistency and maybe it only needs for Ash, Populus, and Oak to be limited. I mean think about it. If your opponent can't make up the difference by adding more copies of Populus and/or Oak and people run cards like D.D. Crow then if Populus gets banished they can't easily recover any more. This would hit them where hurts without taking away their ability to play around Nibiru this would place it roughly were other tier 1 an tier 1.5 decks are right now. If they still over represented at that point then limit Flamburge but otherwise I would still like for it to remain competitive. I don't want for Snake-Eyes to be like Mannadium where it fell apart the moment they didn't have Baronne for Nibiru. I want to be as good as any other deck that can compete with the meta and not like Swordsoul that lost its linear edge the moment Baronne was banned. Most people think the same way. Boo!!!!!!!! The way of thinking that kept Dragon Rulers banned for a needlessly long time sucks and every deck as long as it doesn't rely on cards like Magical Scientist should have changes when needed and continue to be available until the end of Yu-Gi-Oh. Boo!!!!!!!
I play p.u.n.k with kash engine the kash monsters just for there own effect, and surely unicorn 😂 bye bye extra deck an birth for the grave 😅. A little toxic, but fun play
It is cool to see some other decks taking the trophies home, although I would not say that makes them more dominant than snake eyes. I believe when we are talking about dominance we should refer to representation too, not just first place. Hopefully as more skilled Duelist choose to pilot different decks others will join.
See, what i will say, if i remember when dureing Tearlaments a lot of people quit playing until bam!!! Tearlaments got hit and then people started coming back. Honeslty, probably gonna be the exact same thing that happens this time around too.
After Snake eyes n Horus, there gonna be more powerful meta once these decks/cards died down. Just like Tears n Labyrinth before/after there time. There gonna be new cards every couple of months so therefore a new meta threat will come around. Even if some decks managed to make it top tier. Some are so underrated, these other decks against the meta somehow managed to pull it off.
Not really new meta snake eyes is still the best deck rikka sun Avalon has always been a sleeper tier 1 deck it just gets slepped on and underrepresented not to mention a very hard deck to pilot. Just like when prank kids was slept on till it got respected by topping everything.
I've actually been building plant link for a couple months. I just need my third copy of Jasmine to arrive in the mail, and I need to get a 3rd copy of Evil Seed
I bought a playset of black goat laughs a few hours ago. I honestly forgot that card existed but I’ve seen some Purrely players have some success with that card and I can definitely see how

Been play testing it, your turn shuffle 2 xyz new monster then opponent turn quick shuffle 2 more 😂
Clean cut my G
The year of the fire may calming down a little in TCG but that's because the tcg hasn't gotten the new Fire Kings cads yet while on the master duel side..... Ya im just gonna say Snake-Eyes aren't dead Unfortunately and that will be more true when the new fire kings hit tcg
Yugioh isn't doomed for sure but they're only just managing to make SOME cards accessible but its still a very slow process
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hand traps are bad, board breakers are the new sauce...js most decks fold to evenly, Sphere Mode (Kaiju), Drnm
Book of eclipse is your weak excused to snake eyes. Hey everybody, what if you don't draw the cards he's talking about and the snake eye player goes first?
Plant players are EATING....!! in the past 3 months plant has topped like 7 nationsals for top 16 or better placings!!
The irony of the existence of Simultaneous Equation Cannons in a game where players don't read cards is hilarious to me
"Interesting things to talk about to improve your yugioh game"
How to improve Imo: Money.
All you guys saying you're snake eyes / tri brigade players - I'm still playing Gladiator beasts... get at me! 😤
Don’t feel like snake eye really got “outplayed” this last weekend, just more so that all of the top players are tired of the deck and playing other things now.
Feels more like everyone just decided not to play snake eyes
I'm actually surprised by this too. From lvl 1 to lvl 20 during the qualifiers, I've dueled like 3 people using Snake-Eyes. I thought people only cared about winning. I don't know what's going on.
Playing traptrix ragnaraika once the rest of my cards come in I was playing just traptrix and I got wrecked
Nope doomed. Snake eyes one card combo almost all cards, and you're giving us a what if bs out.
Is EU just not beating the allegations of plants being forever tier 0 or are one of the plant winners about to win worlds and not get dusted by swordsoul and dragon link?
Games been cheeks for a while but actually enjoying myself playing sharks.
Swordsoul needs to be the gatekeeper of the meta. Once the meta gets too powerful a skilled SS player cant win its broke.
This video looks like a therapy session for players who have nightmares and trauma about snake eyes. 😅
I wanted to learn plants cause of how nice the art on the rikka cards looked (I just finished the solo gate on MD)
Love how my opponents take 20mins for 1 turn. This meta feels like solitary
this now has proven my point for years if all play one deck sure its tier but if we stop and plsy others then more options are seen to play all decks good it just take the player or the community to make them great
Would not count Germany winner he is a very well known slow player to absuse time rule over here
I need that simultaneous equation cannon card for my Darkseid deck
in my case im playing Dinomorphia and Traptrix Ragnaraika deck
Got rid of stupid annoying cards like barraun and that stupid ball
15.04 minutes of straight cope
There is always new meta....
Problem is there is always a meta
Naw its going downhill. Lack of communication from konami and everyone expects a banwave then another tier 0/1 deck to take hold a squeeze the fun out.
Its predictable at this point.
Are labrynth players running the black goat laughs?
Self fulfilling prophecy in most cases.
Yh as a UK yugioh player weve never liked the meta
Philly regional did not have 1k players lmao
Nobody really knows how to play plants
Love the video never change man your awesome
War rocks are gonna be that dog that goes toe to toe with tempie
This guy inhales the sweetest of copium.
The black goat laughs has been doin work
Synchron with diabelsstar = snake eyes synchro just another variant
Day 94 of asking Cali to take fluffals to locals
Yugi isn't doomed! It was doomed long ago!
The crazy part even when they were meta I never lost to them 😂
Im considering playing again this summer drytron
Get this banned list in marerduel already
See, what i will say, if i remember when dureing Tearlaments a lot of people quit playing until bam!!! Tearlaments got hit and then people started coming back. Honeslty, probably gonna be the exact same thing that happens this time around too.
I need them to make more blue eyes support
Runick twin spright best deck
After Snake eyes n Horus, there gonna be more powerful meta once these decks/cards died down. Just like Tears n Labyrinth before/after there time.
There gonna be new cards every couple of months so therefore a new meta threat will come around. Even if some decks managed to make it top tier. Some are so underrated, these other decks against the meta somehow managed to pull it off.
Me still on madolche since 2011
Give simul Archfiends some love
It's nice to hear so many other decks are topping and winning besides SE. They still need a consistency hit, but hey other decks are winning
Lol love the fact that branded topped #1 and no love anymore and no deck list lol I was expecting scooomaatttaaaa!
I don’t know if you’re gonna be there, but I’ll be down at the Las Vegas regional i’ve got some cards for you to sign if you are going to be there. 😂
all we need to do is kill SE, kill sanctifire and limit jasmine to one. (and hobble tenpai.)
Best Yugioh videos! Love your channel! Keep up the good work big dawg!
TrapTrix anyone?
I bought a playset of black goat laughs a few hours ago. I honestly forgot that card existed but I’ve seen some Purrely players have some success with that card and I can definitely see how
i havent seen your channel in a while big dog, off topic but the hair recently has been fye
