Luvvvvvve this band heaps........love Henry Derek's vocals..great music
Everyone is a critic. Just enjoy the Metal! \m/
+ESE PIADOSO Exactly
I actually have no complaints about this whatsoever. It has all the balls that Broderick and Drover-era Megadeth was missing
Lot's of influences here, Nevermore, Testament, and something new too. I hope this band stays together and creates more awesome music! Love it!
Megadeth indeed
That drum fill at the beginning sounds like Henchmen Ride
I would say def Testament influenced. Of course Megadeth too. It has that 80's thrash vibe . Which is big in Europe always.
and south america, this weird prog/djent crap nowadays is pure tech NO feeling. music is about human emotion not sounding like a robot lol
Chris Broderick and Shawn Drover did thee best thing by leaving Megadeth and forming ACT OF DEFIANCE.
The only time I've seen them live was June 7th 2016 w/DevilDriver & Hatebreed while on Hatebreed's THE CONCRETE CONFESSIONl TOUR @ Mr. Smalls Theater Millvale Pa
T: I don't like it, i mean, they're sound is pretty cool, but they don't make me feel nothing, they haven't a particular sound/ idealism/esthetic/ or anything else that makes them different with other new thrash metal bands.
Mauricio León Espinosa They make me feel like going into the Pit!!!
Mauricio León Espinosa What does T: mean?
You're absolutely right.
Mauricio León Espinosa whatever dude..you have your opinion
Mauricio León Espinosa I like it, they have a unique sound.
I love it. Fuck haters.
Some great musicians here and I like Matt from Shadows Fall...a good pick up with him on bass. This band will get better and better with every album.
Gostei muito. Adoro os ex integrantes do Megadeth, que ainda é minha banda favorita. Boa sorte Chris e Shaw!
I literally clicked the video and insta "Fuuuuuuck" ed as soon as it started.
Been so psyched for this album to release, and no excitement was lost when it was.
All of my yes.
Wtf Chris? This was what you had in mind when you we're saying you wanted to create something else?
Wtf?After Nevermore and Megadeth this is it?
***** Blandest metal band i've ever heard.
+Luke Lewis sadly
Have you heard dead stare or lord belial ? Don't think zo
1:02 Hey look, its Glenn Fricker's long lost brother!
Hahaha made me chuckle
This has a big Eidolon feel to it, particularly the Coma Nation album, so I can only assume this song was more Drover's baby, and the lyrics have Drover written all over them
Best thing Chris and Shawn did was leave megadeth and create this band.. so good..
That's the guy who used to be in Scar The Martyr, right? Sounds pretty good, I liked Scar The Martyr more.
Just saying that Make Them Suffer is fucking amazing.
Deno Manos Hell yeah, they're the best.
check out his other band .Thrown into exile
+Jesse Tate right on he is a good guitarist .Ray from thrown into exile .didn't.tell me that .
I like it but I don't think this is a masterpiece. I think they will be a better band after a couple of albums.
Have you heard dead stare or lord belial? Those are amazing . I feel they made the videos for the wrong songs
+Catsyk SS lol get prepared to be disapointed then, happens that a lot of times
I honestly think the track and instrumental part is amazing, but the screaming ruins it... the vocalist actually has a great voice if he'd stop screaming
+Nathan Rixmann I agree with that, I really enjoy clean vocals with heavy instrumental, and his voice is really good. But it's a matter of tastte and whatever they want to create. Our opinion is also very unpopular among "true metalheads". lol
+André Tavares I know lol, chris broderick is probably the fastest metal guitarist since Michael Angelo (he might be a little faster), and that drummer is amazing. the bass guitarist is really good but everytime I hear the guy scream I'm kind of 'thrownback' by it. Phillip Anselmo was really the only good scream ever in my opinion. But you're right, that is just my opinion.
sounds like testament into the pit
patrick cruz With a bit of Nevermore in it too!
patrick cruz Except that into the pit is actually catchy has an interesting solo and a vocalist that can actually grab your attention.
+Luke Lewis yeah that's my problem with this project too. Has about all the personality of a plank
+patrick cruz The main vocal riff sounds like The Trees Have Eyes by King Diamond.
I can't hear it
I actually really like the singer. This band has amazing potential.. I think after an album or 2 to really gel they will be incredible. This song however is kind of bland/monotone sounding to me. Throwback is better in my opinion.
Vid Mohit The whole album is bland mate.. The blandest Metal record i think I've ever heard.
Really ¿ aww man Luke Lewis if thats the case it is really disappointing.
Not surprising though.. They brought nothing to Megadeth while there.. And Broderick has some of the most unrememberable Megadeth solos on record..
And Shawn was out of his league in the band from day one, hes also the reason that Menza got fired from Megadeth in 2004.
They've streamed the whole album and every song sounds the same has the same theme. same lyrics, same vocals and.. Its just bland... In fact I think they should change the name of the band to Bland - Birth and Burial of our careers. lol
I agree but not on Chris, imo he is a better player than kiko esp live chris plays EVERYTHING 100% flawless kiko doesent sound no where near as clean.
Not too bad, but nothing special...I dunno. I have to admit, I'm glad Chris and Shawn left and Megadeth are sitting with 2 individuals that are are better suited for Megadeth and its direction. Kiko just brings more to the table and adds more variety to Megadeth, while Chris Adler is just a monster on drums and is inspired by Gar Samuelson...and megadeth in general. Anyway, best of luck to these guys.
I really like it. I'm just "worried" about how do they sound live...
+André Leme they are insane live i went to their show in montreal yesterday .
+André Leme they destroy the whole everybody was movin up their ass best performance ive seen so far so much aggression in every song
They're fantastic live
thanks for the responses
I saw them open for Hatebreed and DevilDriver 2 nights ago and they fucking killed it, especially Chris. It was awesome!
this whole album kicks some serious ass. chris is a beast
O.O Broderick looks like Mustaine in 2008 from the back!
What a waste of musicianship. The singing is terrible as are both their songs. cmon man
alright... I figured it out I love the instrument work and I love the vocals but... I can't put the 2 together
Pretty epic with some cool influences...I hear King D in there a little....
Очень бодро.
My favorite song on THE BIRTH & THE BURIAL.
Great awesome metal band Great awesome album
------------- T E S T A M E N T -----------
Sounds like the singer is trying to use a style similar to Alyssa-white Gluz.
I really want to support this band, and I will, but the vocals ruin it for me personally.
Someone shoulda given Phil a call or something...
great band!!! \m/
Just love it !! guitar solo sounds like jeff loomis
I love this album, the guitarist from shadowsfall told me he was working with Chris on this album, awesome stuff, keep up the insane work guys....
Ok, you guys can play your respective instruments. Now write something we haven't heard before.
Thrash metal genious,
some bands think all you need is to put out a pro quality song and it will sell. but no. most of these bands are from people w ho leave from other bands that for to make a new one because they think they know what to do. But its not as easy as they think. like chris broderik. he was perfecf for megadeth. not here
wow they said "no mans land" they're just a megadeth ripoff band.
***** Yeah, and "King Maker" doesn't sound like "Children of the Grave." Really man? Really?
Master of Tacos dafuq is king maker
wait holy shit chris and shawn in a new band? this is amazing
Well this is definitely not my cup of tea. I guess it was nice listening to Brodrick and Shawn while it lasted...
Thick and heavy. Great sound mixing.
the music is good the singer needs to go we have to many bands that sing like him give us something different
this is like testament on steroids
in voice
+Jared Scirocco In voice = rofl, I like this joke
Antonio Santiago , huh ?? , Brother man Testament has always been on steroids.... anyway this band is good, but I don't think the singer is good enough for the solid heaviness of music by the band, they do need someone like Chuck or Tom Ayaya
digg'n that ol school trash sound, It's got me Rock'n out to it. Sounds pretty good!
Remind me to "This day we fight" - Megadeth
dave mustaine SHAME ON YOU!!!
The people that don't like this are too into Megadeth. Megadeth isn't that heavy, and their last albums were pretty weak. They are two different styles and singers. I have AOD and Megadeth on pre-order. I'm sure they will both be decent.
AdamGtr86 No I don't like it because I like to be interested by the things I listen to.. And I actually listened to Megadeth last record and thought that it was interesting and worth giving a few more listens to.
This I can't stand.. The singer sucks, the lyrics suck, the sweep solos with no emotion suck.. The drums and uninspired and the bass is buried. That right there makes for a unenjoyable album.
+Luke Lewis go listen to atonal music for a month, and you'll be eargasming to this...trust me. Its like giving up pizza, icecream and soda for a while and then BAM you try it again and it taste better than it ever has before like your first time eating/drinking it. I challenge you to do this. lol
oakenguitar3 No i'll just listen to musicians that can actually write interesting metal ta
Luke Lewis you shouldn't judge musicians based on only 1 band they've been in. Chances are you didn't even know Chris played keyboard as well as guitar in a band called Jag Panzer.
oakenguitar3 I did indeed know that and listened to plenty of Jag Panzer also.. I still don't rate him as a song writer at all. Maybe you shouldn't assume that I don't know his past work as well as his present stuff.. I was bored by all of it.. Massive Megadeth fan and he has some of the blandest solos to ever grace their records.. 44 minutes was the only time I was like dude thats a good solo it got me.. Thats a success rate of 1 out of 44.. Thats not to say those songs are bad they aren't its that his contribution to those songs was weak and uninspired. The new Megadeth guitarist has already shown that he can do a better job on one song than Chris did with 44 of them lol... And I haven't missed the Irony that he did 44 songs with them and the best one is called 44 minutes.
Way to go Henry. Your vocals are spot on and the band sounds fantastic.
Rob/Boston
This has a Lamb of God vibe... and I fucking dig it
Kinda reminds me of testament a little
This is sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
----T E S T A M E N T----
It's better than Throwback...
strictlymetal Its all shit.. Heard the whole album and its fucking bland from start to end.
Contrary to what the person above said, it's actually a kickass album. Thrash at it's core, and every song has something for everyone I believe.
Nah pal.. Its generic as fuck!!! It clearly doesn't have something for everyone.. I love my thrash and this is terrible.. its stale and has zero personality.. Vocalist is atrocious. Solos a unconnected sweepfest with no feeling. Bass is buried.. Shawn does his best... Nothing I say again nothing creative on this album.. I yawned while listening to it.. I've given it two spins... And generic comes to mind throughout. 2/10
Luke Lewis i really don't have the energy to tell you that you're stupid. You have the right to your opinion, just know that you're wrong.
Deno Manos My opinion isn't wrong because its an opinion you fucking tool.
But it goes far from just my opinion that this sucks major arse.. The vast majority of people in the comments (not just this site either) also think this is a generic bland turd of an album.
Pretty cool \m/
Chris Broderick's skill is way beyond playing fast death metal riffs. I wish he would utilize more of that beautiful classical training he has :(
Maybe He should play what You want instead of what He wants...
+tonykratos Hmm...now thats a novel idea!
Ansioso para Ouvir esse Álbum!
Nope megadeth is still better ...
vocals have to go like for real watching this makes chris look like a chump jus starting out hoping to make it big like if i had no idea who he was and looked at this would never in a million years believe he was already famous for working with bands like nevermore or megadeth
Haha , I didnt know they had Shawn Drover too...
Like said Im just not feeling it... but I do like some of it!
Not bad, just doesn't sate my appetite. Some of the riffs feel incredibly familiar: Verse riff feels exactly like Black Sabbath's jam Live Forever. Good stuff, but I hope their sound (as a band, because they are already old school individually) matures.
I went to Loud Park 15 a few days ago. And I listened some Slayer's songs.Today I downloaded some Tabs from Ultimate guitar and copied Angel of Death. This song remains me of the song I copied a few hours ago.
I like it.They might supply songs what I want to listen to.
This is going to be such an awesome album I hope this band gets big
Think the riff and the music is killer. Don't like the vocals. Never liked that style of "singing." That aside, Drover and Broderick sound fucking amazing together.
Can't Kris Norris and Henry keep scar allive by getting in new guitarist, drummer, keyboards and bass? I would love to hear their b side tracks they never played live!
El Riff principal suena un poco como sleepwalker de United Abominations...
MY neck hurts couldn't stop bagging my head RIP IT AHH :-)
Shitful metalcore vocals ruin what would be some great sounding thrash metal.
yeah thrash
fucking henry is awesome, wish he still was singing for joey, glad chris is on his own, megadeth is way better without him, they have that raw metal feel back, this song has a little king diamond feel to it,hope they go far.
This is just boring. A guitar computer can play back everything perfectly, but can't necessarily write a song.
This is some decent new Metal...I like it, but it Megadeth still smokes them in the ground...Dave Mustaine is still the shit and all you haters know it..
Not adding anything much new to the scene... boring metal :/ I hoped more from masters Broderick and Drover
jeez chris ... just piece jag back together.....
Never was a fan of cookie monster.Chris is brilliant though.
YES!!!!! Fuckin Brutal!!!! Now this is what I'm talking about!!!
Testament are re-born! Seriously though, these guys sound so much better since they broke with Mega-Dave!
Great!!!
very disappointed
A little King Diamond sounding, but these guys are going to be great, just hope they come to South West FL on tour \,,/
cut right out of the Megadeth mold on songwriting, only not as good on the rhythm riffs and so many layers in parts it kinda gets lost. doesn't really make me wanna go out and buy the album
Aí sim! 😍
Fucking Yeahhh!!!!!
way better then megashit, this isnt amazing by any means but still way better then megadeth, im going to give them a fair chance its not bad has a unique sound reminiscent of other bands but still has its own flavor to it
They have some pretty good riffs but some very boring moments also. Thrash must have energy and throughout the song this energy is lost too many times.
Very reminiscent of Dragonlord (Eric Peterson of Testament's band he did vocals and guitars for). I like it.
Sean Florrimell Exactly what i was thinking! Dragonlord was pretty epic at the time. This is alright, listened to the whole song just for the solo really, Chris is amazing and the solos don't disappoint. I agree with Mauricio that they don't really have an identity. Hopefully the rest of the album has some standout riffs.
Its great to see someone actually knows about dragonlord they're a fkin good band too
Anyone noticed that half the song is identical to Sleepwalker? Main riff, lead part and even the sound?
Nice intro eh?
Well , im glad broderick left to make this masterpiece.
now Mustaine's and Kiko's turn to prove themselves.
MrKindaSux Masterpiece in the bland arts.
Sounds great! I like it a lot!!
Fuck yeah!!!!!
I like this band for chris, ı don't like them lyric, ı just like guitar riffs
So. Boring.
That's kinda cool. Can't lie. Broderick still sounds like a robot though.
Does everyone know that Chris b is from megadeath. Lol this band kicks some serious ass
Shawn kicks ass on this, guess he didn't get to do his thing that much with the other band, same for Broderick.
Hmmm... Sounds like Act Of Defiance - Legion Of Lies :)
Drover is a drum machine, no soul or groove.
+Steve Veramontes yes extremely easy to tune out immediately after the first few drums hit, just becomes background clicks
wow this are heavy ones they should hookup with metal allegiance and playing alot with the cool alex skolnic lol
Wicked thanks for starting this band guys sounds savage!!!
I hear King Diamond mix with Testament. Anyway I love this song and I can't wait to listent to new album!
I totally underestimated how much of a shredder Broderick is.
Good conglomeration of members from previous bands that have had fallouts. Lets see how they go together. So far - so Good. I like what I hear.
