I just love that you make your finds part of your every day life, by turning them into wearable jewelry or just carrying them in your pocket. It’s not just about acquiring things for you, and that love is why we keep watching.
I couldn't agree more regarding celebrating and expressing love every single day Nicola, my wife and I shared our 40th happy wedding anniversary last December.
Thanks for another lovely video and greetings from central Texas, where we're currently in the midst of the coldest winter storm in 40 years, so your snow day adventure really resonated. I love the tiny be-fezzed gentleman and you also sent me down an internet rabbit hole re wild ring-necked parrots. I had no idea there was such a large naturalised population in the UK.
@@johnmceachern2813 I don't know of one, except they have made themselves very much at home here in London & the home counties. Their numbers have soared, hence their spread. They are very noisy & can make a racket that is very different from the "songs" of the garden & woodland birds.
Hello Texas from New Mexico a year later- we were killed that same winter but I am commenting to your post because of my equal fascination with the beautiful parrots! I too, immediately googled ...
Only you, Nic, would find a pipe on the snow covered shore. The green of the parrots feathers against the snowy tree was lovely, as was the castle and it’s history. Happy Valentines 🌹🌹
Thank you , Nicola for your lovely walk down Lover's Lane on this Valentine's day. Please warm your toes and Heart knowing you have brought this old lady happiness.
Ditto from me to Nicola... My husband used to say to me...I don't need a special day to tell you I luv you...how I miss my man...God took him home 7yrs ago.... God bless you...xxxx
It's a sunny, white day at minus 26 celsius in South Dakota and your lovely video was quite a Valentine treat! As usual the combination of interesting finds and stories relating history to them are fascinating but I loved the bits of sentiment included. Thank you!
You are a beacon of sanity and peace in these weird times Nicola, we love your videos. All the best from the two of us on the snowy west coast of Canada.
Great video. Today is my oldest son's birthday so it has always been a celebration of his arrival into this World and into my life. Happy Birthday son. :)
I absolutely loved the diary entry of Queen Victoria and the story of her utter heartbreak at her precious Alberts death and for the rest of her life. Such a beautiful and heartwrenching love story. Thank you for sharing that. You are truly a hopeless, or is that hopeful (?) romantic. Another tiny little head...always my favorite finds of yours!
Nicola you are my favorite RUclips mudlarker and videos like this one only reaffirm my feelings. Thank you so much for your efforts on these lovely outings. I did not know there were wild parakeets in the UK.
Hi Margaret. Thank you very much. Im so glad you enjoyed the video. I really enjoyed making this and the snow made it all the more special. Yes we have a lot of parakeets. They have made London their home and although they are an invasive species they are rather beautiful to look at particularly in the snow! Love Nicola x
Such a lovely episode. All the birds. All the hearts. Love Queen Victoria and the story of Lady Anne James and Severndroog Castle. And, yes, love should be celebrated every day. Thank you, Nicola
I watched this with my granddaughter. She is just shy of two. We pretended we were walking with you viewing the birds and then the castle. The next morning we went to a park in Tampa on the bay. It was low tide and she really liked looking for things. We found several live critters which she insisted be put back in the water. No treasure.
A beautiful video Nicola, thank you. I agree, as much as Valentine’s Day is lovely, it’s so important to appreciate your loved ones every day in little subtle ways as well as big gestures! Have a great week xx
I have just discovered your channel fir the first time today. How interesting it was. I am signed up for notifications now and very much looking forward to what you do next and I will take a wander through some of your earlier vlogs too.

Hi Nicola probably a lovers tiff and the ring was thrown into the river..forever to be regretted. Ohhh love is wonderous, heartbreaking too💔. Magnificent tribute Queen Victoria paid to her husband
The ring necked parakeets have tropical origins and are mostly found in suburban parks , large gardens and orchards . They are descended from escapees or unwanted pets with one recorded in the county of Norfolk about 100 miles to the north of London in 1885 but were only really noticed when they started to breed in numbers 1969 in Kent south east of London , the South of England has on average milder winters with less frosty weather than us in the North of England so they have spread to a few other counties in the south . One rumour is that the birds escaped or were set free from the Film studios in Isleworth in the London Borough of Harrow when the 1950 ‘s film The African Queen with Humphrey Bogarde and Catherine Hepburn was completed .
Well done. I, particularly, identified with Queen Victoria's quote you read. After 48 years of marriage to the same man, I am grateful that I found a gentle and loving husband. We had five grown children (can't imagine having nine though I'm not a queen with nannies to help). Thank you for many hours of mud-larking with you. You make it so enjoyable.

You are so keen lol - Rosy cheeks in that cold weather Nicola! Nice bottle, marble and coin finds! Thankyou for the Valentines Day selection - they were beautiful! And the beautiful walk in the forest - the lovely green parrot pair, and the story of the castle! Never let the weather be a barrier! Now go get warm! LOL
🇬🇧 He looks like a military man. I'd say Gordon of Kahtoum but I think he was better looking.
Definitely a cherub on the pin. Sweet. Oh my gosh, those pale green birds were amazing! So beautiful and the fact that they were a couple makes them even more special. I live in the NW of America, and we don't have anything like that here. Love to you Nicola, every day.
Thank you Anastasia! Love back to you too xx
