    I put one of those kits on my Wife's 08 Suzuki VL800 rode it around and it was wobbly as heck! so put the bike in my garage and installed struts on the back to eliminate the wobble and now she's stable as a rock and the wife loves it.

      @AaronVozzolo  8 лет назад +2

      Thanks man...it still uses the original rear wheel for power train and suspension...the trike frame simply goes around it and the new axles have there own suspension travel.

      Is that how they all work?

    • @AaronVozzolo

      +tim sway no there are full conversions that remove the rear wheel and power the rear axle instead.

    Asking this as someone who knows 0 about metalwork, would it still work without those big plates over it? Or is there another way of just hooking up two wheels on the back part?

      Those plates provide integrity and rigidity to the whole setup. You need that in a vehicle.

    • @AaronVozzolo
      @AaronVozzolo  6 лет назад

      Hi there, this setup was somewhat universal due to the torsion axles being able to be adjusted to ride height. The kit was from sidetrike.com and it should verify there if your bike is compatible. Be warned that the kit came with really no instruction that assisted me even though it claimed to have documentation. I ended up having to fabricate based off of one picture I found online so I would not attempt this build unless you have good welding and mechanical skills. Hope that helps; good luck!

    • @terryrockwell1747
      @terryrockwell1747 6 лет назад +1

      ok, thanks..I have ordered the flexiride adjustable half axles and wheels/tires. I am following a couple of videos and your video to approximate the framework. I plan on using 1X2X eighth in. thick rectangular tubing and will plan the belly pan to fit my bike/exhaust system.

  • @JonathanB822
    @JonathanB822 2 года назад

  • @gervaisfillion9417
    @gervaisfillion9417 6 лет назад +1

    hi,
    the rectangular that you welded,what was his dimension,is it 1/4 thick?
    how did you attached it on the GW?
    i have an 1984 and want to do the same here,
    thanks
    gervais

    • @AaronVozzolo
      @AaronVozzolo  6 лет назад

      The rectangular tubing that is welded to form the runners is 1/8 inch thick tubing. Everything was 1/8 inch thick except for the belly plate; that was 1/4 inch and I drilled holes in that to accept U bolts which mount around the frame of the bike. Four U bolts mount the 1/4 inch belly plate to the frame of the bike and then the back is free floating for suspension room.
      Hope that helps; good luck!

    • @gervaisfillion9417
      @gervaisfillion9417 6 лет назад

      so you dont have a fixation at the passenger pegs like other trikes we are seeing on youtube?
      thanks for your response
      Gervais,
      Riviere-Bleue,Quebec

    • @AaronVozzolo
      @AaronVozzolo  6 лет назад +1

      Nope, the axles take the weight and it is a free floating suspension. The axles had adjustments on them and I had to set it properly based on the bikes weight and the clearance between the trike runners and the bikes frame and bumper.

  • @HustonLane
    @HustonLane Год назад

    BEWARE!
    I had a Motor Trike kit installed by Bob Bowman Superior Trikes, Florence, SC. They knowingly delivered my trike to me with numerous issues and 2 dangerous issues = did not torque down handle bars and they almost came off while riding and reverse battery was wrong size and installed incorrectly which melted the terminals. If Superior Trikes didn't know all of the 12 issues prior to delivery then they shouldn't be doing any installations at all! I have pictures, videos, text msgs, tel nbrs, email addresses etc. for anyone to see.
    Motor Trike corporate (President Jeffrey Vey) told me I had to have the very dealer that did the shit installation repair the issues or warranty would be void. Is that legal?

    • @OkieRCguy

      @@AaronVozzolo It's very simple. First remove your rear wheel. Second, weld your swing arm to the frame. Finally mount the rear differential from a Mazda MI-5 to your swing arm. Voila, Trike! In my state, what you have isn't even considered a motorcycle. It has 4 wheels on the ground, therefore it is an automobile.
