@G&G and @MrsCogHill, you two ladies are absolutely amazing. Love it when y'all work together, you guys are such good friends and it's beautiful to see.
Catherine you should sit down and write all that you know about Emu's. Some information about topics is a dying thing these days. Enjoyed seeing the baby Emu's and glad y'all had a successful trip.
That was a fun, educational and tasty trip. 2 of the finest ladies on RUclips (plus a 15 year old with a driver's permit), emus and tasty ice cream = a great day!
So glad you gals are trying to get the whole story about raising emu. Your efforts are not wasted. You are helping future generations of emu to be born. So glad both of you are friends and share your adventures. ❤
It's so wonderful you had someone to visit and learn from. I love the friendship you and Brooke have. It is important for women to encourage each other. Thanks for sharing.❤❤
Thank you for pursuing this education about the process of reproduction in emus and for sharing with us! I so appreciate you making responsible decisions about not inter-breeding siblings! If you have knowledge about far too many "professional" dog breeders, you are aware of the negative traits inter-breeding perpetuates. Sadly, their priority is their income, so they do not care for the mother and offspring! Thank you for wanting to protect the species! Even if there are no obvious physical abnormalities, there may be some on the genetic level. I know your nursing education and career are guiding you in caring for the emu eggs! God bless Catherine and Brooke!
Since Emus are native to Australia, I wonder if there are zoos or universities in Australia that you could reach out to for information...maybe the Irwin's? That may be a stretch, but you never know!
It’s nice to have a friend who’s always listening and supportive of something that you’re interested in learning more about. I’ve learned so much about emu’s just from what little you’ve learned and shared.
Miss Catherine when I seen them baby chicks all I can think about was when Mary Carl got baby nugget I still to this day love that video. He was so funny growing up. I loved it.
That was a great road trip. You learned so much! I feel bad for Goldie, paired with siblings her whole life. I'm sure she wanted to be a mommy. Thats the power of nature! 😢
I really enjoyed your road trip!! And what good friends you and Brooke are!! You help each other and have such strong interests in common. Makes it fun for all concerned!!
Great trip, you don't know what you don't know, but as Brooke said, it's always good to learn. We'll see you with an emu baby one day ❤ looking forward to that day ❤
What a special field trip! We live and learn daily.♥️ Now's your chance to write a book about emu husbandry and the proper way to hatch emu eggs. You would do a great job with your attention to detail. As if you don't have enough to do now! 😅
God Bless you all. Brooke is a beautiful lady. I'm happy to know you know more now. I love emu's also but can't have one. I'm waiting for for you to get one you really deserve it. It will be well loved ❤. Hawaii 🌴👀♥️💖.
I’m so excited for Katherine to get her an emu! When Brook decided they were not going to let Nugget sit. I immediately thought of Katherine! I ask Brooke to contact her and see if she wanted one. It was just a message like this one. I didn’t actually have a conversation with Brooke. But i was so excited when that is what happened! I have been going through the process with Katherine. I wait for every video with so much excitement that this could be the video we have a baby Emu! It has been a very exciting journey! Thank you for taking us along! We love you!!!!!
This video must be older. I could swear that you have had a couple of successful hatchlings after making some changes. Am I crazy 😜 In any case good luck with your farm and all of the animals
So glad that you came home with more knowledgeable information than you went with. Those baby chicks were so cute. Thanks for letting us tag along with y’all. Enjoyed your video.
This was awesome that you got alot of information to go with now. ❤😊 Cant wait to see what happens Catherine. Thanks Brooke for taking Catherine and treating her to the ice cream.❤😊
It will also help Brooke, now she won’t feel guilty when she pulls Goldie’s eggs. You could see she struggled with pulling them. If the weather had been better she might have let Nugget sit. Now she knows she can’t. So it was a good trip all round
Oh, thinking about Goldie and Nugget being sibs definitely changes the story and the loss of those eggs isn't such a tragedy, it? I'm wondering if they recognized each other when Goldie arrived. Were they hatched at the same time? Maybe you can 'borrow' either Goldie or Nugget when your chick is old enough to breed. Now, THAT would be quite a story to follow!! Best wishes, Catherine! Looking forward to whatever you decide to do!!
@@ede-jomadden8182 I am not positive at all about Nugget and Goldie and still have some eggs left. But only a few. We shall see what happens but I will not be as disappointed at all now

You must be very relieved to know that what you did with the emu eggs was not your fault! Looking foreward to when you bring your baby emu home! Did this woman know about the old VHS tape from the professor? Glad you both had a great, informative day!😊❤🙏( are you sure you did not stick one of those cute baby emus in your pocket and smuggle it out?!?!?! LOL!😂
Catherine, I knew you and Brooke was up to something. I loved to see all the emus and glad yuns learned a lot. You two women are wonderful to watch. Ice cream! Ohhhhh
Catherine I'm just so grateful y'all went and experienced a knowledgeable breeder . It's got to make a world of difference to know exactly what to do now . I think your compassionate heart an dedication will make one of the best Emu breeders ever . If thats what you decide to do . I'm here for the adventure and can't wait to see a healthy happy lil Emu baby or babies . God Bless you 💯🙏❤🇺🇸
I remember that video where CHF got Nugget. They went to get 2 emus and while there the owner said there was a third emu available that their little girl had kept in her bedroom and handled since hatching, which made it super friendly. That third baby emu was Nugget and he already had that name from the little girl when they got him. He was so tame that Mary Carl held him in her lap in the car on the way home while the other two stayed in the cage. CHF decided to only keep Nugget and rehome the other two which ended up being called Pepita and Goldie. They were still on little Cog at the time so it made sense to only have one emu. All the baby emus they picked up were about the same size. So unless that place had multiple breeding pairs it seems very likely they were all 3 full siblings. This may also explain why Pepita and Goldie didn't have any successful hatches before Goldie came to the CHF40. Now I won't feel so bad for Nugget not being allowed to sit on the eggs. If they are not likely to be healthy chicks there is no point in letting him try.
It's so fascinating, learning new things, isn't it? I watched a video a few years back, from Zoos Victoria (Australia) about emus and it was incredible. You might want to check it out. I don't recall them talking about breeding them outside of the Zoo, but remember there was a lot of behavioral info. Good luck, and I have best wishes that you have a successful hatch (or two) very soon.
Oh my gosh! WOW! I know Jason and Brooke said on one of their videos that Goldie and Nugget could siblings, but they were also told that because they were birds, it's ok. Well, another learning experience for us all. I guess emus are different in that aspect. I just pray that if one of the eggs hatch that it is ok and healthy.🙏🏼❤️ Who knows, maybe Goldie and Nugget came from the same farm but maybe different parents. 🤷🏻♀️ All we can do is pray that if the egg or eggs hatch that they are ok. 🙏🏼❤️ I hope that when you can you could tell us what you have learned. Unless you were swore to secrecy. Which I would hope that this person at this emu farm would either publish something or make a video of their knowledge so others can learn. How else are people gonna know if people don't sprend the word. Plus, help people like y'all who need to know so there is no more heartbreak and dead chicks. I'm not going to ever have an emu or anything but I love to learn about things and study stuff. I find it all fascinating when you first started out with the hatch and how you wrote down everything and told us all about it. Even when it was heartbreaking, you told us, and when you examined the egg and chick inside. And now I don't know if you're going to be able to tell us anything more about your trip and all the info you have learned. Anyway, I'm so glad and thankful that Brooke and MaryCarl (I know you blocked her face in the video❤) drove to get you, and y'all ladies went and checked out the emu farm. That must have been so exciting for MaryCarl, too. Thank you both for helping Catherine to learn more about her project and what can help her. I hope this trip will help with the hatch or with the learning of whether Goldie and Nugget are siblings or if they will ever be able to have any Golden Nuggets. I'm prayin they aren't siblings and this cluch is gonna hatch and be healthy. God bless.🙏🏼❤️😊

The part where they showed the newly hatched babies following their parents melted my heart. They barely came up to the adult's ankle! Good luck, and I have best wishes that you have a successful hatch (or two) very soon.
